Mosins were quite attractive when selling up to a hundred bucks, but now they're pricey enough make you think twice before plunging. As for taming recoil, ever tried any of the 7.62x54r Czech training ammo? Haven't seen any for sale in a long time, but it shoots in the Mosin with recoil akin to .223 in an AR.
