Star Trek Fan Film "Axanar"

Last year I posted a 21 minute kickstarter video for a Star Trek based fan film.  It is called "Axanar".  It is the back story from the original series (TOS).  There was an episode where Kirk goes to an asylum and he sees Garth of Axanar there, a very famous Star-ship captain whom later went insane.

This character was the inspiration for the fan made movie that followed the original canon, not the reboot  by JJ Adams.  Here is the 21 minute kickstarter video that was used to spark interest.  They Have Richard Hatch(Original Battlestar Galactica Capt Apollo) as the Klingon Warlord Kharn.  Gary Graham who played the Vulcan Ambassador in the Star Trek Enterprise reprises his role, and many others.  The video is worth a look.

I have watched this again and again.....But Apparently Paramount got their feelings hurt and have sued the producers for "ripping off the Klingon Language."  And they are trying to shut down the production.  You can get information from the Official Website.  I have been watching fan made Star Trek on you tube for quite a while.  Star Trek Phase II is pretty good as have many of the others, what they lack in polish, they make up in passion and love of the show.  If you are  Star Trek fan, here is a list of fan made productions...Star Trek Fan Films

Monday Music "Run to you" by Bryan Adams

I remembered this song coming out while I was in college,  this song along with Boys of Summer with Don Henley and a few others that I can listen to over and over.  the song brings back good memories for me.   I am still healing up and I will be going back to work this evening, so it will be interesting how the night will go.   I also had to go to camp to get more of the Order of the Arrow stuff for my son's ceremony team, they have an event this upcoming weekend, they call it a "powwow".

"Run to You" is a song by Canadian singer and songwriter Bryan Adams. It was released in October 1984 as the lead single from his fourth studio album, Reckless (1984). The track deals with the subject of infidelity, and is sung from the perspective of a man who declares that he will continue to "run to" his seductive mistress over his faithful partner; critic Ira Robbins for CMJ called it a "cheating classic". In the accompanying music video, however, Adams portrays his guitar as the object of desire.
The song topped the Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart and peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has appeared on all of his compilation albums. The single was certified Gold in Canada in 1985.

After a tour in Asia, Adams started the recording for Reckless. The recording for "Run to You" started on March 27, 1984 at Little Mountain Sound, Vancouver, Canada and continued through the summer. It was mixed on September 21 in New York by Jim Vallance. The song, written January 10, 1983, became the last song written for Reckless. Adams and Vallance originally wrote the song for Blue Öyster Cult, but the group turned it down.

"Run to You" was released in October 1984 and became one of the most successful songs from Reckless on the American rock charts and arguably one of Bryan Adams's most recognizable and popular songs. "Run to You" was released worldwide on October 18, 1984. It was his first number one on the Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart and reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Run to You" reached the top twenty on the Canadian singles chart and remained there for seven weeks. It held the highest Canadian chart position Adams had attained at the time of release and became his second top twenty single in Canada. "Run to You" was released the following month in Ireland and peaked at #8 and reached #11 on the UK Singles Chart. It was his second single to chart in Europe.
Stewart Mason from Allmusic said "Run to You" was the first of the album's six Top 30 hits, and in retrospect, "one of the weakest of the lot. Although the song has a thundering chorus, the kind that sounds truly excellent blasting through FM speakers, there is quite literally not much else to the song: of the song's nearly four-minute length, over half of the song is devoted to repeats of the chorus and an unimaginative instrumental breakdown that leads into a seemingly endless vamp on the chorus to fade." The long instrumental is indicative of the theme of the music video where the protagonist is serenading his guitar as the object of his affection.

The music video was shot in London, England and later Los Angeles. Directed by Steve Barron, it was nominated for the 1985 MTV Video Music Awards in five different categories: Best Direction, Best Special Effects, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography. While the song didn't win any of the awards, it has received more MTV Video Music Award nominations than any other of Adams's songs. The English actress Lysette Anthony appears in the video.

Happy Easter

This is a quick post to wish all in blogland a Happy Easter,

Matthew 28
New International Version
Jesus Has Risen
1After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

2There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

The Guards’ Report
11While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
The Great Commission

16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Quick Post

Quick Post,    I havn't been posting much..I had my carpel tunnel surgery last Monday, and I was doing good until Friday when I to use an old gamer phrase

"Failed my saving Throw" and somehow manage to fall walking out of the garage.  I remember falling and trying to roll, but apparently I also put my Left hand...you know the left hand..the one that got operated on..hand....Yeah  That one.  Well I braced myself and managed to split the incision open....so off to the Dr office I went.   Dang....so I will be wearing a bandage longer now....will see how this affects me at work on Monday Night....we will see...Perhaps they will let me take some more classes or something....

On a different note we all saw the bombings in Brussels and immediately had the same thought....

The Europeans are inviting their destruction in with unfettered immigration, the people coming over will not assimilate, will not coexist, they view their belief system as superior to the tired multicultural blather of the European continent.  They will accept your tribute but view you with contempt.

Another class and a museum display

I have taken a class for a couple of days so I can save some time while I am healing up.

There are a few differences from this plane and the A319/A320 series.  The motors are the same, we still will be using the CFM 56 series, the same that we use on the Boeing 737 aircraft.  There are software upgrades and a few other things.  I am enjoying the class, although being on dayshift is different, I keep expecting my skin to burst into flames.

There also was a call for veterans at my employer to loan some items from Desert Storm, so I loaned them my uniform, LBE and a few other things for the Museum.
It looked weird seeing my uniform on a mannequin.
Some of my other stuff.   Like I said, it looks strange seeing this stuff under glass.  I have had all this stuff in my bonus room and didn't really think much of it, but other people really think it is neat.
My prayer rug.....I used this next to my cot, there is something about putting your feet on carpet....even in a desert.

Monday Music "Hill Street Blues" by Mike Post

I have this on the scheduler thingie, I will be getting my carpel Tunnel taken care of on my left hand, I may not be able to blog much for a few days....I will see how I handle the pain and hassles.

I was listening to this song on my blue toothie thing ion my radio in my truck and I decided to roll with it for my "Monday Music".  I remember the reaction of "Hill Street Blues" when it hit the airways, it was totally different than any cop show at the time.  It showed the gritty underside of life...or as much as they would show in the early 80's.  I liked the show and the music.   I remembered a comment Mike Post made about that song, he wanted something that sounded serene and peaceful and the show showed everything but..  I also included the theme from "Greatest American Hero."  I also liked the corny series.

Mike Post (born Leland Michael Postil, September 29, 1944 in Berkeley, California) is an American composer, best known for his TV theme songs for such series as Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, The A-Team, NYPD Blue, The Rockford Files, L.A. Law, Quantum Leap, Magnum, P.I., and Hill Street Blues.

Post's first credited work in music was cutting demos using two singing sisters, Terry and Carol Fischer. With Sally Gordon, they went on to become The Murmaids. Their first single, "Popsicles and Icicles" (written by David Gates), was a #3 hit song in January 1964.
Post also provided early guidance for the garage rock band the Outcasts while in basic training in San Antonio, Texas. He was the songwriter and producer for both songs on the band's first single, released in 1965, and also arranged a local concert where they served as the back-up band.
He won his first Grammy at age 23 for Best Instrumental Arrangement on Mason Williams' "Classical Gas", a #2 hit song in 1968. He is also credited as the producer for Williams' LP that included this song, The Mason Williams Phonograph Record.
Billed as the Mike Post Coalition, their track "Afternoon of the Rhino" became a sought-after Northern soul track. The single peaked at #47 in the UK Singles Chart in August 1975.
Post also worked with Kenny Rogers and produced the first three albums he recorded with his country/rock group the First Edition (between 1967 and 1969). Post also produced Dolly Parton's hit album 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs in 1981. Much later, in 1997, he produced Van Halen's Van Halen III album.

One of his first jobs in television started when he was 24, as the musical director on The Andy Williams Show. Another early job was writing the theme music for the short-lived detective series Toma in 1973, but his big breakthrough (together with co-composer Pete Carpenter) came in the following year with his theme song for The Rockford Files, another series by producer Stephen J. Cannell. The theme also got cross-over Top 40 radio airplay and earned a second Grammy for Post.
"The Rockford Files" theme became a Top 10 hit in both the U.S. (#10) and Canada (#8). It ranks as the 85th biggest U.S. hit of 1975, and the 84th biggest Canadian hit of 1975.
Post subsequently won Grammys for Best Instrumental Composition for the themes for the television shows Hill Street Blues in 1981 and L.A. Law in 1988 as well as another Grammy in 1981 for Best Instrumental Performance for the Hill Street Blues theme, which also reached number 10 in the U.S.
Post won an Emmy for his Murder One theme music, and had previously been nominated for NYPD Blue, among others. He has won BMI Awards for the music for L.A. Law, Hunter, and the various Law & Order series. The theme for The Greatest American Hero (co-written with Stephen Geyer) is one of the few television themes to reach as high as #2 as a single record on the Billboard Hot 100.

At the peak of his career, Post was the go-to composer for all of the series created by Donald P. Bellisario, Steven Bochco, Stephen J. Cannell and Dick Wolf. Due to the considerable amount of music to be created, Post operated an office with multiple staff composers, among them Walter Murphy, Velton Ray Bunch, Frank Denson, Jerry Grant and Greg Edmonson, all composing side by side in cubicles. Each would write music cues, to complement specific scenes from each show, in Post's signature style. This practice is not uncommon for top composers in the TV and Film composing worlds.
Other TV music works include The A-Team, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Blossom, CHiPs, The Commish, Doogie Howser, M.D., Greatest American Hero, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hooperman, Hunter, Magnum, P.I., NewsRadio, Profit, Quantum Leap, Renegade, Riptide, Silk Stalkings, Stingray, Tales of the Gold Monkey,Tenspeed and Brown Shoe, The White Shadow, Wiseguy, the BBC series Roughnecks, Law & Order, and Philly.
In 2014, Post composed the score for the fake TV Plot Caged Heat in the Marvel One-Shot All Hail the King for Marvel Studios.

Came back from Camping and other stuff

I have had a very busy few days,   On Thursday night, we attended my sons Band performance, in a rated competition.....They did very well, the only band to get all superior ratings....
Friday I came home from work, slept for a couple of hours, then got up and started working the yard, Used the truck to pull up some bushes, apparently it died...Well I could have dug it up or use my brain and the truck and get it out easier....
Peace of cake.   I then cut the yard, sprayed pesticides all over the place and did a bunch of other stuff, then I washed the protective yellow coatings off the vehicles....I thought both of my cars were "yellow".  I even washed the lawnmower...
That made for a long day.  Saturday morning, I took the crumbsnatcher to another Arrow of Light ceremony, he had to do this one by himself.

He had some technical difficulties...like having all the matches fall out of the box when he was trying to light the candles...but he continued on like a pro.  Despite the various technical problems, I was very proud of him, he handled the hiccups and kept going.
he is making a name for himself doing this stuff for the packs in the district.

Well We got completed with this and off to a campout we went.  Came back this morning and immediately went to church, then off to a Scout fundraiser.....I am tired.
While I was waiting for something I saw where a bunch of protestors blocked the road to a Donald Trump rally, funny how the Brownshirts seem to get off on this stuff.  I made this comment and another person tried to correct me stating that "trump is Hitler."  I chuckled and replied " You don't know your history well, it was Hitler and the Brownshirts that shut down the rally's of his opponents..., Tell me how your cause is more pure to you then their cause was to them?"   I was called an "asshole" and this person stomped off.  Well I am surprised that they didn't invoke "Goodswin Law" on me.

Trump ad on Hillary

I have a few minutes, I have commented quite a bit, the Repubs need to quit attacking each other...They need to focus on Hillary and a lesser extent Sanders.  I remember the 11th commandment from Ronald Reagan, "Don't attack a fellow GOPer".  Remember the mainstream media will shamelessly cover for the democrats.

We are doing ourselves no favors by doing their jobs for them.  As soon as the general elections start, you will see the tone of the Media change to "hostile" in support of "their" candidates.  Remember a vast majority of the mainstream media and their editors vote "Team Donk".

Cardinal of the Kremlin, doctrine of lesser Magistrates and camping

I survived another weekend camping and teaching the rifle merit badge at camp.  I left for camp on Saturday Morning instead of Friday night.  I went for a series of Dr appts, I am getting my carpel tunnel taken care of in my left hand, I have had this for 20 years compliments of Ford Motor Company Atlanta Assembly Plant,  but it has gotten gradually worse with my current job.
So I left very early Saturday morning and in a desolate part of the trip I saw a red blur and heard a *thump* and figured I ran over a possum or something....well I get to camp, drive to the range and I decide to look at the front of the truck and I saw this....

Dang, I actually felt pretty bad, there was no way for me to avoid this.  On a different note, My son continues to work the ceremonies,
The kids also hammed it up before the 2nd ceremony..
Meanwhile We have seen the vaunted tolerance that the left has to people that have different opinions in Chicago,  Those people are PROUD that they shut down an event, the concept of "free Speech and peaceable assemble" is totally alien to them.  They consider free speech if what you talk about is what they like, then it must be protected....but if you believe differently, then you are to be shunned.

I ran across this clip from the movie "Braveheart" and what Mel Gibson's character stated about the nobles and the commons resonated.  The nobles (GOP Establishment, big government liberals) believe that the people exist to serve them and their causes, the truth is the reverse, the nobles exist to serve the people. not their own petty squabbles and self interest.

The Lesser Magistrate Doctrine teaches that when the superior or higher ranking civil authority makes immoral/unjust laws or policies, the lower or lesser ranking civil authority has both a right and duty to refuse obedience to that superior authority. If necessary, the lesser authorities may even actively resist the higher authority.

God has established four realms of government to which He delegates authority. They are: (1) self-government; (2) family government; (3) church government; and (4) civil government. Each has its own role, function, and jurisdiction. The authority an individual possesses in any one of these four realms of government is delegated authority. In other words, they derive their authority from God. Their authority is not autonomous or unconditional. Their authority is God-given, and thus, they have a duty to govern in accordance with His rule. When someone in authority makes laws or decrees contrary to God’s law, they are in rebellion to God’s rule. Those under their authority are NOT to obey them when they do this. They may have to even actively resist them.

Monday Music "Getcha Back" by the Beach Boys

I actually got a posting of "Monday Music" out on Monday.....Yay Go Me!  I went camping with the Boy Scouts this past weekend, I will post on that probably tomorrow.    I was listening to my selection of music on my phone...Bluetooth is a good thing:)   This song came on and I decided to roll with it on Monday Music.  I remembered this album in my Dads music collection

That was one strange looking car, I didn't understand the cultural significance of it back then.  I remembered listening to the music when I was little, I did pick up some of my Dads music taste probably from listening to it all the time when I was little.  I do the same thing to my son, He knows 80's music.   I remember this song hitting in the mid 1985 and I was glad to see the Beach Boys having a hit in the mid 80's especially since they have been around a while.

The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and their friend Al Jardine. They emerged at the vanguard of the "California Sound", performing original surf songs that gained international popularity for their distinct vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a southern California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance. Rooted in jazz-based vocal groups, 1950s rock and roll, and doo-wop, Brian led the band in devising novel approaches to music production, arranging his compositions for studio orchestras, and experimenting with several genres ranging from pop ballads to psychedelic and baroque.

The group began as a garage band managed by the Wilsons' father Murry, with Brian's creative ambitions and sophisticated songwriting abilities dominating the group's musical direction. After 1964, their albums took a different stylistic path that featured more personal lyrics, multi-layered sounds, and recording experiments. In 1966, the Pet Sounds album and "Good Vibrations" single vaunted the group to the top level of rock innovators and established the band as symbols of the nascent counterculture era. Following the dissolution of Smile, Brian gradually ceded control to the rest of the band, reducing his input because of mental health and substance abuse issues. Though the more democratic incarnation of the Beach Boys recorded a string of albums in various music styles that garnered international critical success, the group struggled to reclaim their commercial momentum in America. Since the 1980s, much-publicized legal wrangling over royalties, songwriting credits and use of the band's name transpired.
The Beach Boys is the self-titled 25th studio album by American rock band The Beach Boys, released on June 10, 1985. Produced by Steve Levine, the album is the band's first recording after the drowning death of founding member Dennis Wilson. It was also the first of the band's albums to be recorded digitally and released on CD. It's also the last album released by James William Guercio's Caribou Records.

"Getcha Back" is a song written by Mike Love and Terry Melcher for the American rock band The Beach Boys, on their 1985 album The Beach Boys. It was the band's first release since the tragic drowning death of Dennis Wilson in 1983. The song peaked at number 26 nationally and number two on the Adult Contemporary chart. "Getcha Back" recaptured the sound and feel of the Beach Boys' early hits.
Musically, the backing vocals resemble those from the 1959 hit "Hushabye" by The Mystics, which the Beach Boys had covered in 1964 for their All Summer Long album. Comparisons could also be made to Bruce Springsteen's 1980 hit "Hungry Heart", which Love later recorded a cover of for a tribute album.

The music video directed by Dominic Orlando, was filmed on location in Malibu and Venice, California. It featured a then-unknown Katherine Kelly Lang, who went on to play Brooke Logan on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Although the active members of the Beach Boys appear in the video, they do not play, sing, or lip-sync the song.

Time of Rage and the age of Donald

I am feeling better, having a cold sucks.....colds don't kill you...they just make you miserable.  I have a Rifle Merit badge class tomorrow I will be teaching.  It also is Ordeal weekend with the Order of the Arrow.    I will have a busy weekend.   I was surfing my various blog sites and I ran across an excerpt of this article from Doug's Place and I really liked it.  The complete article was on Townhall.com
On a different note, I have and many other people have touched on the year of rage of the voters are having.  More so on the GOP side than the democrat side.  The GOP base have gotten tired of being lied to by the establishment and the symptoms of the rage is the Donald.    Like I said, when we had the primary in Georgia, I voted for Cruz, but if the Donald gets the nomination, I will vote for him gladly.  Now if he gets screwed out of it by the establishment pulling a brokered convention and they stick in Romney or some other establishment weenie.  I don't think I will vote, I can't vote for the future felon Hillary and I have seen the damage socialism/communism has done so I can't vote Bernie.  The pics are from my stash of pics I have....what can I say...I like pictures....

This election is the Republican Altamont, where conservatives got knifed by the Hell’s Angels. It’s our own fault too – the GOP teased its base, looked down upon it, lied to it, and when it turned out it wasn’t playing games and pulled a blade the establishment wasn’t ready.
I spent the last few days at CPAC, surrounded by conservatives, and there was a clear preference for focusing on the symptom – Donald Trump and his myriad failings – rather than the disease. Our problem is not this digitally-challenged, bizarrely phallocentric clown; it’s our failure to represent the people left behind as we got ahead.
Donald Trump is the fault of the GOP elite, including movement conservatives, who failed to listen, who failed to follow through, who thought we were meant to lead the benighted past their narrow self-interests and unseemly prejudices to a wonderful new world reflecting our benevolent self-interests and elite prejudices. Funny how the conservative, globalized utopia we sought to impose always worked out really well for us. Except those left behind aren’t laughing.
Trumpism isn’t merely about unfocused anger – it would be super-convenient to write this off as a temper tantrum that will soon blow over and allow us to get back to the business as usual of ignoring the pleas (which are now demands) to stop the immigration disaster, to address the fallout of free trade, and to stop the useless sacrifice of our sons and daughters in wars we’re too damn gutless to win. But it isn’t. Again and again Republicans promised to solve these problems and yet every single time they’ve lied. Rubio got elected in Florida promising to oppose amnesty then not only fails to do so but stands up with the Democrats and did the exact opposite. And we’re surprised a candidate comes along and points that out?
Think of this as, in large part, the struggle between the haves and have nots of globalization. Amnesty was a great idea for bubble people who think illegal immigration satisfies some sort of libertarian ideal, or who only experience its impact by being able to hire a cheaper nanny. It’s a pretty great idea for the illegals too. But leave your nice neighborhood and go where a high school grad who was born here can’t get a job as a roofer since any general contractor who doesn’t hire illegals is going to go broke because his competition will. Tell somebody whose daughter is shot dead in front of him by an illegal who got arrested five times but never got deported that it’s an act of love.
If we had built the damn wall we promised our base back then, we probably wouldn’t have that damn Trump now.
Free trade is great, in a macro sense. It sure helps enrich the donor class. But go tell the guy who lost his $25 an hour job because NAFTA let Carrier move its air conditioning plant to Mexico about Milton Friedman’s “Free to Choose.” What’s he free to choose? Long-term unemployment? Making a fake Social Security disability claim? Or taking a job greeting at Wal-Mart for $8 an hour?
Immigration and free trade are generally good, but they impose real costs and our base is getting handed the bill. These folks have been asking us for help, and what was our response? Shut up, stupid racists. Well, they finally found someone who is taking their side. His name is Donald Trump, and we made him possible. Hell, we made him inevitable.

But hey, talking about the real problem – us – is hard, so let’s focus on peripherals and hope against hope that we can put the Republican Party’s accounting off for another cycle. Let’s talk about Trump’s weird penis fixation, because that’s easier than introspection. Let’s jump on the ridiculous KKK disavowal train or run a picture of people raising their hands and hint it’s a Nazi salute, even though not one of us actually believes Trump supports the KKK or is a Nazi, because maybe we can tar him (and his followers) with charges we damn well know are false and that will let us avoid the reality of our predicament for a little while longer.
The ultimate denial manifests in the idea that the reckoning can somehow be circumvented if Cruz or Rubio or even Cruz /Rubio wins the nomination. Who goes on the ballot to satisfy Trump’s rebels? Not Tiny Hands – no, he’ll never take veep. How do you keep the yuge numbers of voters motivated by Trump and his willingness to at least talk big about taking the left-behinds’ side from walking? We can’t simply will them and their concerns into silence.

Worse, there are those of us who want to go third party. So, let’s play this out. Trump’s people win the nomination fair and square and then are told, yet again, “No, you still don’t get to win. Sure, you played by the rules, like you always do, but when we elitists saw the outcome, we changed the rules to make sure we won, as we always do.” Good plan. That’ll end well.
The Republican Party is a round hole and its base is a square peg. They no longer fit together, and there has to be a reckoning. Change must come. Political history students are going to be reading about this seismic shift in decades to come, assuming the world doesn’t end in fire and blood. And do not think the Democrats are in any less trouble – we just aren’t seeing the fractures and the fissures in Team Donk thanks to a mainstream media that won’t report them and DNC superdelegate rules that have ensured the fix is in for Hillary.
Individual conservatives have every moral right to act on their principles and refuse to vote for an unprincipled, unconservative individual. Though I intend to vote for the GOP nominee, each new round of appalling idiocy by that vulgar human troll doll tests my resolve. But as much as we wish to focus on the flawed messenger, the problem is that we have refused to heed the message he has adopted (and which I have little doubt he will abandon if elected). It’s not the illegals who are living in the shadows; it’s our own base, the guys and gals who got the short end of the globalization stick. The vast majority of Trump’s supporters are good people who we have let down, and as free agents in the political free market they have found someone who saw a need and is filling it.
They aren’t going away; we need to reintegrate them. To bring them back into the GOP is going to require us to examine our ivory tower policy preferences as well as our prejudices about our own base – and it’s going to require us to start keeping our word. We had no sympathy for the plight of the base, and that’s why now we have the devil.

Monday Music

I remember hearing this song when we were stationed in Germany in 1976 and this was one of the songs that Wolfman jack would spin up on AFN Frankfurt and I would listen to this late at night when I was going to sleep.  I might start doing that again, finding a "oldies" channel on my tablet so I don't worry about exceeding my download limit or something like that.

Wings, also known as Paul McCartney and Wings, were an Anglo-American rock band formed in 1971 by former Beatle Paul McCartney with his wife Linda, session drummer Denny Seiwell, and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine. Wings were noted for frequent personnel changes as well as commercial success, going through three lead guitarists and four drummers. However, the core trio of the McCartneys and Laine remained intact throughout the group's existence.

"Let 'Em In" is a song by Wings from their 1976 album Wings at the Speed of Sound. It was written and sung by Paul McCartney and reached the top 3 in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. It was a No. 2 hit in the UK; in the U.S. it was a No. 3 pop hit and No. 1 easy listening hit. In Canada, the song was No. 3 for three weeks on the pop chart and No. 1 for three weeks on the MOR chart of RPM magazine. The single was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of over one million copies It can also be found on McCartney's 1987 compilation album, All the Best!
The song starts with the sound of a vibraphone, chiming the first eight notes from the Westminster Quarters, before the rhythm begins. The lyric name-checks several famous people as well as McCartney's paternal aunt Gin and his brother Michael. Phil and Don Everly (known as the Everly Brothers) are named along with Martin Luther. Uncle Ernie is named; this was the character Ringo Starr sang in the London Symphony Orchestra's recording of the Who's Tommy. "Let 'Em In" is noted for the false fade out, which, however, becomes loud for the last two notes of the song as it ends. The song makes use of the piano, drums, brass, including a trombone solo, and wind instruments, featuring flutes, plus backup vocals from Linda and other members of Wings.

I like to play the older songs live or if there is a video made, which some singers and bands did do for extra publicity or play time on late night TV.  Given the time-frame, I am glad to find a video of the song that was actually made when the song was released.   I have had to remove songs that I had done research on to find no video of the song existed except of an album cover and the lyrics superimposed on them.

Nancy Reagan passes beyond the rim..

I have 2 half completed post in the "draft" section of this blog.  I was working on one of them then switched gears and started another......Ohhh a Shiny!....
    But on a serious note..

This Morning Ronald Reagan requested a Dance with Nancy Reagan and she accepted.

(CNN)Former first lady Nancy Reagan, who joined her husband on a storybook journey from Hollywood to the White House, died Sunday.
She was 94.
Nancy Reagan died at her home in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure, according to her spokeswoman, Joanne Drake of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
"Mrs. Reagan will be buried at the Ronald Reagan
Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, next to her husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who died on June 5, 2004. Prior to the funeral service, there will be an opportunity for members of the public to pay their respects at the library," Drake said in a statement.
The former first lady requested that contributions be made to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Foundation in lieu of flowers, the statement said.

She was a classy women and made sure that she never brought shame to the office of First lady
of the United States.   She is a reminder of an earlier time where people were expected to exhibit class in their dealings.

Rant from a blog buddy

I shamelessly borrowed this rant from a blogger buddy, his language is cruder than I would have used, but I do agree with the sentiment.   He voted for the Donald and I voted Cruz.  If Donald gets the GOP nod, I will support him.  Supporting the democrats is a non-starter for me.   The pics came from my stash.

The Donald almost ran the table. Cruz got Texas, which was expected and he also got Oklahoma.
Trump crushed it in Jawja. I voted for him. Sure. He’s a bloviating blowhard, a brash bully, and a demagogue, but, he is the only person who wants to save the country from the immigration that is gonna destroy our country if it isn’t stopped. He wants to save us from the invasion on our southern border. Are you tired of having to press one for English? Me too. Are you sick of bilingual education? Me too. What about kids not being able to wear patriotic shirts to school because it offends Hispanics? Screw the Hispanics. This is our country, not theirs. What about people who are offended by the American flag. If that offends them, they need to get the fuck out of our country.
He wants to stop Mooslime immigration which is nothing more than an advance colonization from Islamic countries. Islam is totally incompatible with America and our way of life. Mooslimes will not assimilate. They don’t want to. They want Sharia.

Immigration is the most important problem facing this country. What does Marco Gang of 8 Scamnesty Rubio want? Comprehensive immigration reform. That is code for open borders and amnesty for all of the illegals here. Anyone who is on the same side as Chuck the schmuck Schumer is not a Republican. Ted Cruz is not for a wall on the southern border either.
The GOPe claims that Trump is not a conservative. He’s more of one than GOPe senators like Bitch McConnell, Johnny Maverick McRINO and his mini-me little Lindsey Graham. They are more willing to fight the Tea Party than the Democrat Party. And look at the last two candidates that the GOPe has given us. Johnny Maveric McRINO who ran on the platform of “reaching across the aisle” and working with Democrats while stabbing Republicans and his running mate in the back. Then, they gave us Mittens Romneycare, the only Republican who couldn’t run against Obummercare. The geniuses who gave us McRINO and Mittens are now telling us that Trump can’t win. Yeah. Like we’re supposed to listen to those losers. They gave us two losers and ran two losing campaigns and we’re supposed to listen to them?
We have “conservative” pundits who claim that Trump is gonna destroy the Republican Party and the conservative movement. I’ve got news for them. It’s already happened. It happened during Bush 43′s presidency when Bush and the Republican Party spent like Democrats and ran up 4 trillion dollars in debt, which was a record until Democrats and Obungler showed them what pikers they were by running up 8 trillion dollars in debt. From 2000-2006 the Republicans grew gummint by giving us another cabinet department, the Department of Homeland Security and another entitlement program, Medicare part D. That was known as “compassionate conservatism”. So don’t blame Trump for destroying the Republican Party or conservatism. The establishment Republicans like Bitch McConnell, McRINO, and John Boner did that. Over the past seven years these assholes have promised to stop Obumbler if we would just vote for them. How did that work out? We gave them the House and the Senate and it’s been business as usual.
The Republican Party needs to be destroyed. We’re sick of being lied to. We’re sick of broken promises. We’re sick of being stabbed in the back. The grass roots are rising up and giving the finger to the GOPe. Had they kept their promises and done what we elected them to do, there would be no Donald Trump running for president. Can he beat Thunder Rodent Thighs. I think so. I do know that he’ll fight, sumpin’ McRINO and Mittens didn’t do when they ran. He won’t allow himself to be rolled in a debate like that fat tub of lard, Candy Crowley did to Mittens. He’s refreshing in not being politically correct. The only thing he really has to worry about is the GOPe sabotaging his campaign. They would rather see Cankles win than Trump and they call themselves Republicans?
The GOPe would rather commit slow suicide, which is what they’ll get by supporting the PIAP* and open borders, than supporting Trump. Fuck them! Fuck them all!

Monday Music "Tragedy" by the BeeGee's

I decided to go with the BeeGee's .....again.   I know that some people didn't like the BeeGee's and they got typecast as a Disco band.  The truth is that they have been around longer than the Genre but they have been typecast.   I like Disco, I do remember the the anti disco sentiment, especially in the early 80's.  Disco had gotten squeezed out by the new wave coming out of England.  I think the backlash came from the fact that Disco was around longer than it should have been, rather than be remembered fondly like I do with my 80's music now, it was crammed down people and it was too much.  This caused the backlash.  I knew that the BeeGees were more than a Disco band, but Disco is where many people really heard of them for the first time.  The BeeGee's were extraordinarily talented musicians and the range of their music spoke of their talent and showcased it.  I also know that they seemed to drop off the planet for about 10 years.  I didn't know why but I am sure the anti-disco backlash caught them up as did many other acts from that era.

"Tragedy" is a song released by the Bee Gees, written by Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb, included on their 1979 album Spirits Having Flown. The single reached #1 in the UK in February 1979 and repeated the feat the following month on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Spirits Having Flown is the fifteenth album released by the Bee Gees. It was the group's first album after their collaboration on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. The album's first three tracks were released as singles and all reached No. 1 in the US, giving the Bee Gees an unbroken run of six US chart-toppers and tying a record set by The Beatles. It was the first Bee Gees album to make the UK top 40 in ten years (not counting the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever), as well as being their first and only UK No. 1 album. It has sold 20 million copies worldwide.
Spirits Having Flown marked the tail end of the band's most successful era, prior to a severe downturn in the early 1980s when they would endure a near-total radio blackout (particularly in America) that Robin Gibb would refer to as "censorship" and "evil" in interviews.

The Bee Gees had been effectively typecast as a disco group after Saturday Night Fever, and in a 1978 interview Barry remarked "People think we're just about disco now. Of course that's not true. If you look at the SNF soundtrack, there's some dance music, but we also have ballads like More Than A Woman." In an attempt to counter this typecasting, the first single from Spirits Having Flown was the ballad "Too Much Heaven". The horn section from Chicago (James Pankow, Walt Parazaider and Lee Loughnane) made a guest appearance on this album. At the time, they were next door working on the Chicago album Hot Streets. Thus the Bee Gees would return the favour as they appeared on Chicago's song "Little Miss Lovin'" and their keyboardist Blue Weaver appeared on "No Tell Lover". The Bee Gees also recorded "Desire" for the album but it was rejected and instead released as a solo single by their brother Andy.

Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb wrote this song and "Too Much Heaven" in an afternoon off from making the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band movie in which they were starring. In the same evening they wrote "Shadow Dancing" which was performed by Andy Gibb (and reached #1 in the US).
Though not originally in Saturday Night Fever, it has subsequently been added to the musical score of the West End version of the movie-musical. The song knocked "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor off the top spot in the US for two weeks before that song again returned to #1 for an additional week. In the US, it would become the fifth of six consecutive #1s, tying the record with the Beatles for most consecutive #1s in the US.
In 1979, NBC aired The Bee Gees Special which showed how the sound effect for the explosion was created. Barry cupped his hands over a microphone and made an exploding sound with his mouth. Several of these sounds were then mixed together creating one large boom heard on the record. The song is also playable on Rock Band 3.
