A day in the life of a checked bag.

I picked this up from the local airlines here in Atlanta.

Delta’s new music video, A Day in the Life of a Checked Bag, went viral this week shortly after it was released on YouTube.
Media outlets throughout the U.S. and the U.K. picked up on the video, including the NBC Today Show; USA Today; WNYT-TV; Tuscon Weekly; Digital Journal.com; Tnooz and the Mirror in the United Kingdom. The two minute-43 second clip even had some people blogging and twitting about it on Twitter.
On Thursday, the NBC Today Show featured the video on its morning news program, pointing out all the buzz surrounding it.
“This video has curious travelers flocking to YouTube,” the NBC anchor said. “It gives a suitcase eye view of just what happens to your bag after they’re pulled away on the conveyor belt. It’s an ad for Delta Air Lines promoting its new smart phone app that let’s passengers track their bags in real time.”
Recently Delta rigged a bag with six video cameras and sent it on its way from Atlanta to New York for a revealing look into the day in the life of a checked bag.
The new video offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at some of the people, places and things bags encounters on their way from Point A to Point B.
“But promotional gimmick or not, the video gives airline buffs a fun view of the journey a bag takes en route from check-in to pick-up,” said USA Today.
“Nice video and a nice look at how my luggage makes its way through the airport system,” a reader responded to the USA Today blog.
“Awesome video,” twitted a viewer after watching it on YouTube.

  1. But.....
They missed the whole 'lets break into this luggage to see what we can steal" part...

    Oh-wait.
That was the whole TSa-'can't film here' thing, wasn't it?

  2. I was waiting to see the bag being examined, but that was also in the do not film area. So, yes, it's a bit of fun, but the important stuff is left out. The music is good though and the whole idea is unique. Thanks for the post.
