Another go at the 2nd amendment..."Can't let a crisis go to waste"

Well the democrats can't let a crisis go to waste,
Any excuse to chisel away at the 2nd amendment.  All in the name of "Common-Sense" gun control.  I will state the obvious, they use any tragedy to continue to ratchet down on the 2nd amendment.  It isn't gun control, they want,it is "people control" .  Liberals are busy bodies that want to not only control their life...they want to control yours also.  And if they can get away with killing the 2nd amendment, you will have no choice because the liberals control the tools of the state and they will try to bend you to their will.  If you don't comply they will send you to a gulag for "re-education" until you have paid your debt to their society via labor, you think I am being an alarmist?  Stalin did it in the 30's with his purges, Hitler did it in the 40's with the work and death camps, and Mao did it in the 60's, and history has a nasty habit of repeating itself.    Remember Saul Alensky, the hero to our "Dear Leader" and the other democrats, he had stated that to fundamentally transform the United States to the socialist utopia that they want, that they will have to kill 10% of the American people, the ones that will not toe the line.  This is the price that they are willing to pay for this socialist utopia, the great city in the hill that the progs have dreamed up. .  As long as we have the 2nd amendment and our right to defense of persons from tyranny and oppression, they cannot do that.

House Democrats Introduce New Gun Control Bill

Democrats in the House introduced new legislation Friday that supporters say would enact new protections to make sure that firearms don’t fall into the hands of the severely mentally ill.
The proposal, sponsored by Democratic Representatives Mike Thompson of California and Ed Perlmutter of Colorado, is called the “Promoting Healthy Minds for Safer Communities Act of 2014.” If passed, the legislation would place tougher restrictions on gun ownership by prohibiting individuals convicted of stalking, domestic violence or similar crimes from purchasing firearms. It would also revoke gun ownership rights from anyone involuntarily committed to a mental health facility.
“While no one law or set of laws can end gun violence, by taking these steps — and requiring background checks on all commercial gun sales — we can make our communities safer and prevent more shootings while respecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners,” Thompson said.
Furthermore, the bill would expand grant funding for State and local law enforcement education about Federal gun laws and bolster gun-violence prevention efforts. One such effort touted by supporters of the legislation would give lawmakers more options for attaining warrants to confiscate firearms from individuals they deem a danger to themselves or others.
The legislation was introduced exactly one week after a shooting tragedy in California involving a 22-year-old who had previously been investigated for possible mental disturbance by police. Officers reportedly interviewed the suspect and decided he was not a threat. The officers didn’t search his dwelling where supporters of the new House legislation say they would have found evidence of his murderous plans.
“This young man’s family reached out for support and did not find the support there,” Representative Elizabeth Esty (D-Conn.), said. “It is our duty, as members of Congress, to ensure that families, law enforcement [and] mental health professionals have the support they need to keep us safe.”
Critics of the legislation worry that broad language regarding citizens’ mental health history could lead to violations of both 2nd and 4th Amendment rights for people who have sought help with mental health issues unrelated to potential violence.
It’s unlikely that the bill will advance through the Republican-controlled House.

I will dissect this bill a bit at a time,  First off they state that anybody that was convicted for stalking, domestic violence and other similar crimes...this is feel good bullshit, the Lautenburg Amendment already does that.  This is just a smokescreen.  It also would revoke any bodies rights if they are "involuntary committed"  Involuntary committed by whom?   Get a judge that doesn't like you because he is a part of the elitist and believes that surfs don't need weapons?  Get committed *boom* your 2nd amendment rights are GONE.  Let me continue with this proposal...they want a background check on every commercial sale...Well that is already done, when you fill out the FFL 4473 they ask you several questions..from have you ever been committed to are you a part of a subversive movement, to have you ever been committed of domestic violence and have you committed a felony.  then they run a background through the NCIC before the store can sell you that firearm.    This is more smoke and mirrors.  They talk about funding more mental health issues, and here is the nugget that is inserted into this legislation..They would have more warrants to confiscate firearms from individuals that are "deemed a danger to themselves or others"   This is a very broad brush, how many preppers and other 2nd amendment advocates will get hemmed in this this law?  To get a warrant through a judge is pretty easy now...How many warrants have been sighed off that have no "probable cause" but because the DA had asked for them?  This is a slippery slope that will continue to split the "powers that be" from the rest of us.  This law will not pass in its present form, but it may get amended.  But if the Democrats get control of the house and senate, this bill will get pushed through and the 2nd amendment will continue to be assaulted and finally become a footnote in history.

Here we go again...............*Redux*

Well since that spoiled brat had his temper tantrum and knifed some people and shot some people and ran over some people, the blood dancers in the peoples republic of California have already proposed new gun control laws.  Can't let a crisis go to waste you know.

I saw this from PoliceOne the cop site, several democrats are proposing new gun control and mental health measures.....I see the massive possibilities for infringement of due process and 2nd amendment rights.

The Oakland Tribune
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Lawmakers reacted to the Santa Barbara shooting by announcing plans Tuesday for a bill to create a "gun violence restraining order."
The bill would establish a system in which concerned relatives, intimate partners or friends can notify police about someone showing a propensity toward violence, so police can investigate and seek a judge's order to seize that person's firearms and prevent any purchases.
Current law lets that process start only when therapist notify police that a client is at risk of committing a violent act. Family members can call police, but if no crime has been committed and the individual doesn't meet criteria for an involuntary civil commitment to mental health treatment, there isn't anything police can do about that person's firearms.
"When someone is in crisis, the people closest to them are often the first to spot the warning signs," Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, said in a news release. "Parents, like the mother who tried to intervene, deserve an effective tool they can act on to help prevent these tragedies."
Skinner will co-author the bill with Assemblyman Das Williams, D-Santa Barbara, and state Sen. Hannah Beth Jackson, D-Santa Barbara.
"The tragic incident in my hometown of Isla Vista is not a result of gun laws failing," Williams said. "Rather, it is a horrific example of how our mental health laws and gun control laws are not working together."
Also, state Senate Democrats will present a package of mental health policy and budget proposals Wednesday in Sacramento "to address mental healthcare within California's criminal justice system, recidivism and public safety," according to a release from Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg's office. "The package includes a proposal to strengthen and apply statewide protocols to help frontline law enforcement identify signs of mental illness."

An unusual C130 flight and the fall of Saigon.

The Fall of Saigon was on April 30th 1975, I remembered my dad being glued to the TV and I didn't understand the significance back then.  I remember a bit earlier the Watergate Hearings that had preempted Flipper and other kid shows/and I was angry about it.   shows the perspectives from a kids point of view.  If I understood the significance of it, I would have paid more attention to it.
This picture is the iconic photo of the fall of Saigon.  The bad thing is that the Watergate hearings directly impacted the resulting fall of South Vietnam, the hearings allowed the anti-war democrats to gain enormous influence and later more seats in the senate and house of representatives thereby increasing their majorities.  Despite our promise to the South Vietnamese that we would support them after the Paris Peace Accords the congress controlled by the democrats refused to appropriate money to the South Vietnamese for military aid to replenish their stocks after years of war.

THE C-130 ON DISPLAY AT THE FRONT GATE OF LITTLE ROCK AFB, ARKANSAS

C-130A USAF 56-0518
was by the 314 TCW, 315 AD, 41 ATS, 328 TAS; to South Vietnamese Air Force 435 Transport Squadron, November 1972; holds the C-130 record for taking off with the most personnel on board, during evacuation of SVN, 29 April 1975, with 452. Returned to USAF, 185 TAS, 105 TAS; gate guard at Little Rock AFB Visitor Center, Arkansas by March 1993

This C-130A Hercules was the 126th built by Lockheed Aircraft corp. of Marietta, Georgia. It was accepted into the Air Force inventory on 23 August 1957.

On 2 November 1972, it was given to the South Vietnamese Air Force as part of the Military Assistance Program. A few years later, the aircraft would be involved in a historic flight.

On 29 April 1975, this Herk was the last out of Vietnam during the fall of Saigon. With over 100 aircraft destroyed on the flight line at Tan Son Nhut Air Base, some of them still burning, it was the last flyable C-130 remaining. In a very panicked state, hundreds of people were rushing to get aboard, as the aircraft represented a final ticket to freedom.
People hurriedly crowded into the Herk, packing in tighter and tighter. Eventually, the loadmaster informed the pilot, Major Phuong, a South Vietnamese instructor pilot, that he could not get the rear ramp closed due to the number of people standing on it. In a moment of inspiration, Major Phuong slowly taxied forward, then hit the brakes. The loadmaster called forward again stating he had successfully got the doors closed.

In all, 452 people were on board, including a staggering 32 in the cockpit alone. Using a conservative estimate of 100 pounds per pe rson, it translated into an overload of at least 10,000 pounds. Consequently, the Herk used every bit of the runway and overrun before it was able to get airborne.

The target was Thailand, which should have been 1:20 in flight time, but after an hour and a half, the aircraft was over the Gulf of Slam, and they were clearly lost. Finally, a map was located, they identified some terrain features, and they were able to navigate. They landed atUtapao, Thailand after a three and a half hour flight.

Ground personnel were shocked at what "fell out" as they opened the doors. It was clear that a longer flight would almost certainly have resulted in a loss of life. In the end, however, all 452 people made it to freedom aboard this historic C-130.

Upon landing, the aircraft was reclaimed by the United States Air Force and assigned to two different Air National Guard units for the next 14 years.
On 28 June 1989, it made its final flight to Little Rock Air Force Base and placed on permanent display.

Monday Music "Sympathy for the Devil" Rolling Stones

Yes another "Tuesday" Release of Monday Music.
I hope everybody celebrated and honored those on Memorial day.  Better bloggers than I said what was necessary and proper to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.   I remembered a line I had read somewhere:

Well those people's check got cashed.     We honor them.

Now to My "Monday Music"...on a Tuesday.....
I remembered this song and it ain't my favorite Rolling Stones song, "Paint it black" has that distinction,   One of the things I liked about this song is the historical mentions in the song from "the time for a change in St Petersburg and held a generals rank when the blitzkreig raged."
                             Looks Like Leonid Brezhnev.....Don't it.......
"Sympathy for the Devil" was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, though the song was largely a Jagger composition. The working title of the song was "The Devil Is My Name", and it is sung by Jagger as a first-person narrative from the point of view of Lucifer.
In the 2012 BBC documentary Crossfire Hurricane, Jagger stated that his influence for the song came from Baudelaire and from the Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita (which had just appeared in English translation in 1967). The book was given to him by Marianne Faithfull.
In a 1995 interview with Rolling Stone, Jagger said, "I think that was taken from an old idea of Baudelaire's, I think, but I could be wrong. Sometimes when I look at my Baudelaire books, I can't see it in there. But it was an idea I got from French writing. And I just took a couple of lines and expanded on it. I wrote it as sort of like a Bob Dylan song." It was Richards who suggested changing the tempo and using additional percussion, turning the folk song into a samba.
Backed by an intensifying rock arrangement, the narrator, with narcissistic relish, recounts his exploits over the course of human history and warns the listener: "If you meet me, have some courtesy, have some sympathy, and some taste; use all your well-learned politesse, or I'll lay your soul to waste." Jagger stated in the Rolling Stone interview: "... it's a very long historical figure — the figures of evil and figures of good — so it is a tremendously long trail he's made as personified in this piece."
At the time of the release of Beggars Banquet the Rolling Stones had already raised some hackles for sexually forward lyrics such as "Let's Spend the Night Together" and for allegedly dabbling in Satanism(their previous album, while containing no direct Satanic references, had been titled Their Satanic Majesties Request), and "Sympathy" brought these concerns to the fore, provoking media rumours and fears among some religious groups that the Stones were devil-worshippers and a corrupting influence on youth.
The lyrics focus on atrocities in the history of mankind from Lucifer's point of view, including the trial and death of Jesus Christ ("Made damn sure that Pilate washed his hands and sealed his fate"), European wars of religion ("I watched with glee while your kings and queens fought for ten decades for the Gods they made"), the violence of the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the 1918 massacre of the Romanov family ("I stuck around St. Petersburg when I saw it was a time for a change/Killed the Tsar and his ministers/Anastasia screamed in vain"), and World War II ("I rode a tank, held a general's rank when the blitzkrieg raged, and the bodies stank"). The song was originally written with the line "I shouted out 'Who killed Kennedy?'" After Robert F. Kennedy's death on 6 June 1968, the line was changed to "I shouted out 'Who killed the Kennedys?'"
Jagger sings the final lines of the coda, before the fade, in a high falsetto.
The song may have been spared further controversy when the first single from the album, Street Fighting Man, became even more controversial in view of the race riots and student protests occurring in many cities in Europe and in the United States.

The recording of "Sympathy for the Devil" began at London's Olympic Sound Studios on 4 June 1968 and continued into the next day; overdubs were done on 8, 9 and 10 June. Personnel included on the recording include Nicky Hopkins on piano, Rocky Dijon on congas and Bill Wyman on maracas.
It is often mentioned that Marianne Faithfull, Anita Pallenberg, Brian Jones, Charlie Watts, producer Jimmy Miller, Wyman and Richards performed backup vocals, singing the "woo woos", repeatedly, as this can be seen in the film Sympathy for the Devil (see below) by Jean-Luc Godard. Richards plays bass on the original recording, and also the song's electric-guitar solo. Jones is seen playing an acoustic guitar in the film, but it is not audible in the finished mix.
In the 2003 book According to the Rolling Stones, Watts said: "'Sympathy' was one of those sort of songs where we tried everything. The first time I ever heard the song was when Mick was playing it at the front door of a house I lived in in Sussex... He played it entirely on his own... and it was fantastic. We had a go at loads of different ways of playing it; in the end I just played a jazz Latin feel in the style of Kenny Clarke would have played on 'A Night in Tunisia' – not the actual rhythm he played, but the same styling."
On the overall power of the song, Jagger continued in Rolling Stone: "It has a very hypnotic groove, a samba, which has a tremendous hypnotic power, rather like good dance music. It doesn't speed up or slow down. It keeps this constant groove. Plus, the actual samba rhythm is a great one to sing on, but it is also got some other suggestions in it, an undercurrent of being primitive—because it is a primitive African, South American, Afro-whatever-you-call-that rhythm (candomblé). So to white people, it has a very sinister thing about it. But forgetting the cultural colors, it is a very good vehicle for producing a powerful piece. It becomes less pretentious because it is a very unpretentious groove. If it had been done as a ballad, it wouldn't have been as good."

In an interview with Creem, Jagger said, "[When people started taking us as devil worshippers], I thought it was a really odd thing, because it was only one song, after all. It wasn't like it was a whole album, with lots of occult signs on the back. People seemed to embrace the image so readily, [and] it has carried all the way over into heavy metal bands today."
Of the change in public perception the band experienced after the song's release, Richards said in a 1971 interview with Rolling Stone, "Before, we were just innocent kids out for a good time, they're saying, 'They're evil, they're evil.' Oh, I'm evil, really? So that makes you start thinking about evil... What is evil? Half of it, I don't know how much people think of Mick as the devil or as just a good rock performer or what? There are black magicians who think we are acting as unknown agents of Lucifer and others who think we are Lucifer. Everybody's Lucifer."
Contrary to a widespread misconception, it was "Under My Thumb" and not "Sympathy for the Devil" that the Rolling Stones were performing when Meredith Hunter was killed at the Altamont Free Concert. Rolling Stone magazine's early articles on the incident misreported that the killing took place during "Sympathy for the Devil", but the Stones in fact played "Sympathy for the Devil" earlier in the concert; it was interrupted by a fight and restarted, Jagger commenting, "We're always having—something very funny happens when we start that number." Several other songs were performed before Hunter was killed.
After being omitted from the Stones' 1972/73 tours, "Sympathy for the Devil" was played occasionally as the encore in 1975/76, and has been performed regularly on all of their tours since 1989. Concert renditions have been released on the albums The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus, Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!, Love You Live, Flashpoint, and Shine a Light.
Sympathy for the Devil is also the title of a producer's edit of a 1968 film by Jean-Luc Godard whose own original version is called One Plus One. The film, a depiction of the late 1960s American counterculture, also featured the Rolling Stones in the process of recording the song in the studio. On the filming, Jagger said in Rolling Stone: "... [it was] very fortuitous, because Godard wanted to do a film of us in the studio. I mean, it would never happen now, to get someone as interesting as Godard. And stuffy. We just happened to be recording that song. We could have been recording 'My Obsession.' But it was 'Sympathy for the Devil', and it became the track that we used.

The creator of the G.I. Joe action figure has passed on.

I still have my GI-Joe doll that my parents got for me for Christmas, I got him in the early 1970's.  This one came out right after the "talking" one that my brother had.  I used to have the jeep, a bunch of rifles and many other things that an action figure needed to be bad-ass. Way better than Ken's pansy ass..well anyway.  I didn't have the astronaut version though.  I  had forgotten about him until about 10 years ago when my mom gave me a box of stuff and in it was my GI-Joe doll,  Still had the ripped up clothing that I had dressed him in all those years ago.  Well I went and on a lark went to a toy clearance house and picked up a uniform including an M60A3, so I reequipped him and parked him on top of my Babylon5 figurines I bought a long time ago from big lots of all places. And Yes that is the string for my Marlin Compound bow above him.
The GI-Joe has become the iconic toy for the average American male....not the sissified ones that inhabit PETA meetings or other leftist pursuits.

Donald Levine, the Hasbro executive credited as the father of G.I. Joe for developing the world's first action figure, has died. He was 86.
He died of cancer early Thursday at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, said his wife, Nan. They were just about to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
Levine shepherded the toy through design and development as Hasbro's head of research and development. He and his team came up with an 11½-inch articulated figure with 21 moving parts, and since the company's employees included many military veterans, it was decided to outfit the toy in the uniforms of the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force, with such accessories as guns, helmets and vehicles.

Levine, who served in the Army in Korea, said he got the idea for the moveable figure as a way to honor veterans.
G.I. Joe hit the shelves in time for the 1964 Christmas shopping season and soon became a big seller at $4 apiece.
'Don Levine and his team took it from a good concept to a great concept,' said Alan Hassenfeld, Hasbro's former CEO whose father, Merrill, oversaw G.I. Joe's development when he ran the company.

G.I. Joe remained popular until the late 1960s, as opposition to Vietnam intensified and parents shied away from military-related toys. Hasbro countered in 1970 by introducing "Adventure Team" G.I. Joes that played down the military connection. Into the '70s, G.I. Joes featured "lifelike hair" and "kung-fu grip" and were outfitted with scuba gear to save the oceans and explorer's clothing for discovering mummies.
Hasbro said in a statement that Levine's "influence on the toy industry was profound" as his team developed the concept of an action figure.
'His work forever changed the way kids play with toys, and in particular helped birth the G.I. Joe brand which has been a part of the American fabric for 50 years,' the company said.
Over the decades, G.I. Joe has spawned comic books, cartoons, two movies starring Channing Tatum, and a G.I. Joe Collector's Club and its annual convention — GIJoeCon — held in Dallas in April.
Levine's funeral will be held Sunday morning at Temple Beth-El in Providence. He is survived by his wife, three children and four grandchildren.

G.I. Joe has seen a lot of action over his 45 years. The soldier has been a toy, a comic book, a cartoon, another toy and several videogames. But on Aug. 7, G.I. Joe gets his most challenging mission yet: anchoring his own live-action film. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra hopes it can emulate Transformers and turn nostalgia for the 1980s toys and cartoons into success at the box office.
While toy company Mattel could barely keep up with demand for its Barbie dolls in the early 1960s, its competitor, Hasbro, realized the market had no analogue for boys. In 1963, Hasbro began development on a military-themed line of dolls that, like Barbie, could be accessorized with different outfits and equipment. The original strategy called for a different figure for each branch of the military, but seizing on a 1945 film called The Story of G.I. Joe, the toys were eventually genericized. (The term itself comes from World War II, where it was used as a shorthand symbol for the typical serviceman, or "Government-Issue Joe.")
G.I. Joe was initially a massive success and Hasbro expanded the line throughout the '60s, reimagining Joe as an astronaut, a deep-sea diver and a Green Beret. But outcry over American involvement in Vietnam dampened enthusiasm for a camo-clad action figure, so Hasbro gave Joe an honorable discharge. It redesigned the toys and relaunched them in 1970 as Adventures of G.I. Joe: the figure received lifelike hair, moveable eyes and a "kung-fu" grip, enabling him to hold onto objects for the first time. But the changes proved to be a gimmick, taken even further by Hasbro with the development of a space-traveling "Super Joe" in 1976. The reception was lukewarm, and by 1978, Joe was retired from service entirely.
In 1982, Joe had an unlikely savior in Star Wars. The sci-fi flick and the collectables it spawned rekindled America's appetite for action figures, so Hasbro reintroduced a scaled-down line of G.I. Joes to try and capitalize on the trend. Instead of a single character, there was an entire battalion of G.I. Joes, each given signature weapons, backstories and code names like Scarlett and Snake Eyes. Joe also got a new enemy, Cobra —"a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world," as described in the intro to the 1980s TV cartoon G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. (Cobra operatives got action figures, too.) G.I. Joe was also made into video games for early Atari and Commodore game platforms and as a comic-book series published by Marvel from 1982 to 1994. This won't even be G.I. Joe's first film — the animated flick G.I. Joe: The Movie went straight to video in 1987.
Though the action figure's popularity peaked in the late 1980s, Joe has been around in some form ever since. In the early 1990s, Hasbro reintroduced a line of larger, 12-in. G.I. Joes, and in 2004, the classic 1964 figures were rereleased to capitalize on Baby Boomer nostalgia. Some of the original, '60s-vintage G.I. Joes have fetched sizable prices. A rare and ill-fated G.I. Nurse from 1967 — the earliest and least successful female G.I. Joe produced — went for more than $6,000 at auction. Some of the earliest, rarest figures attract a similar price tag.
But what's perhaps most unique about G.I. Joe is his staying power. In an era when toy companies completely overhaul their product lines every few years, G.I. Joe has managed to avoid another hiatus. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra might not set any box-office records, but it's a fair bet the movie's namesake will still be a mainstay on toy-store shelves long after the movie is forgotten.

Range time.....And other musings

The past few days have been real busy, that is why I haven't posted.  I had tried to post something a couple of time but I couldn't get the media to cooperate with me.  Well on Thursday we had "AMT" day at work and I had downloaded a video of some airplanes coming over for the displays.  I hope the video works
Well I can't seem to get the video to load.....durn it....so I will go with the regular posting.

We had gotten some cool stuff along with the food.  And the tool vendors did a brisk business.  I can't say too much I tend to buy  tools off the MAC truck.  That being said, the MAC guy also has "GearWrench",  which I find to be very imaginative and some other brands.  If you look in my tool box, you will find MAC,Proto,Kobolt, Craftsman, and some Harbor Freight.  Tools are expensive, but it is a cost of my doing my job.  And I own them.
On Friday my Son graduated from 5th grade and he did very well,   As a reward.....He wanted to go to the range...I immediately had this thought...
Well after we left the school, I went home grabbed a couple of rifles and we went to the range.   I always try to go to the range, but with my goofy schedule it has been difficult.  Well any way we went to try this new range that just opened up just north of where we live, and it cost a bit more, but the savings of time and gas made it worthwhile.  And it was a *Nice* range.  I always have seen these ranges on TV and the places I have shot in the past were definitely on a budget.  No complaints, I just like having a place to shoot.  But this range was *posh* in my book, granted I have low standards I guess.

Here is my son sighting down his *repaired* 22LR semi auto.  And it ran well, my son was very happy that his rifle finally worked, it was having problems feeding and jamming.  Well I took it to a gunsmith that I know and he repaired it for about $40.  There was a bent rod, and a warped spring that was causing the problems.  It also was missing a screw in the trigger guard that was affecting the action.  So his rifle ran well and he was very happy.  He also wanted to shoot "Daddy's rifle"  so I let him.
I was using a 22 adapter to shoot with. so I let him shoot it.  I also brought 20 rounds of .5.56 to let the rifle shoot through the regular bolt.  I know the holes in the paper are the same size, but it sounds and operates differently under a full power load.  I also let him shoot a few rounds with the regular bolt carrier group so he gets the feel of the rifle with the different ammunition.

And speaking of good times, I had told my Dad that we were shooting at the "new" range so he joined us to shoot his "new" 22LR semi auto pistol that he recently bought.

I felt really good, I had both my son and my dad at the range, there were 3 generations of shooters on the firing line....I think it disturbed the space time continuum.   We did have a good time and I picked up a few new polymer magazines to augment the old style GI magazines I had when I left the service back in 1991.  $10 a pop wasn't a bad price, especially when I remembered the stupidity that happened last year.  I am glad to see that AR parts have dropped back to almost realistic levels.  Unfortunately the supply of .22 LR hasn't.
Fixing to bag them back up the end of the shooting day, we all were tired.  I than woke up saturday morning and spend all day Saturday helping to prep the land for cub day camp.  It was already getting warm and being in the sun really takes it ou

Moscow Rules....... 2014

I saw where somebody had posted in another blog that we as a conservative group should "relearn" the Moscow Rules especially with the alphabet government agencies at the behest of the democrats are really concentrating on those people with a belief that is diametrically opposed to the democrats stated goals and vision of this great utopia that is over the hill.  Well I had published these rules over a year ago, and so I "dusted" them off and put them out there again.

I have had several references  made to "Moscow Rules" so I googled them and this is what I came up with.  It is a good rule of thumb kinda like my "Gibbs Rules" that I had posted a couple of months ago.  The Pictures are compliments of "Bing"  The Rules are compliments of Wikiuniversity

Whether fiction or fact, the Moscow Rules are often referenced and seldom printed. Said to have been developed by CIA for making sure their operatives were not sent like lambs to the slaughter to tough spots like Moscow, the Moscow Rules are an incredibly profound set of pragmatic guidelines for effective tradecraft. They are exceptionally difficult to find online in their entirety. Here, all 40 of the Moscow Rules are preserved. This page provides an opportunity to seminar students to elaborate upon and give examples of the rules in operation.

Liberal Logic...........

I ran across this surfing around so I shamelessly "ripped" it off,    It basically to me is very accurate of their mindset.

Monday Music "Veteran of the Psychic wars" Blue Oyster Cult

I had a lot of things going on and was unable to get a "Monday Music" on Monday...so it came out on .....Tuesday....Sometimes it happens.
I decided to go with Blue Oyster Cult "Veteran of a psychic wars".  I first heard of this song on the movie "Heavy Metal".  I liked the sound track and of course to an adolescent boy, there was a lot of boobage action and a pretty good storyline and and what I consider great animation before computers were used.  There was later a "Heavy Metal 2000".  It sucked.

I went with this video, it features the song and it ties in a bunch of stuff from the terminator movies.  Actually pretty well done.
This video has some clips from the move "Heavy Metal" in it so I used it also.
"Veteran of the Psychic Wars" is a song by the American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, written by Eric Bloom and British author Michael Moorcock (creator of Elric of Melniboné). The song first appeared on the album Fire of Unknown Origin. An extended version appears on the album Extraterrestrial Live. It also appears on the soundtrack of the 1981 animated film Heavy Metal.
The phrase "...veteran of a Thousand Psychic Wars" is from the Hawkwind song "Standing at the Edge," from the album Warrior on the Edge of Time, which also dealt with the myth of the Eternal Champion, and contained lyrics written by Moorcock.
The song has been covered by the Finnish metal band Tarot, Metallica at the Bridge School Benefit, and Arjen Anthony Lucassen.

4 things that are ruining America

I saw this on my infrequent forays into Facebook.  I figured I could go on a rant on this subject.  I don't smoke but I did like the cigarette in the cartoons.
First off Lets go with Low Information Voters.:  These are the voters that only watch "entertainment tonight or some other celebrity worship show.  They tend to vote "democrat" since it is stylish and most of their "hero's" support democratic causes....and because they "care".  These people never bother to educate themselves on an issue and realize the ramifications of their actions.

Leeches...Burdens to society;  these people are the ones that you see "game" the entitlement system to get the most dollars out of the system, from having more kids to increase their payout, subsedized school lunch and a myriad of other "safety net" entitlements to voting for democratic politicians to keep the largesse coming.  They view productive members of society with disdain and mock them because the productive members of society are stupid and work when they don't have to.

Liberal Democrats&Progressives : their cause is "fairness" from pay to social justice...it is all about "fairness".  Hard work and ability doesn't factor in with them.  If everybody would just listen to them, all would be alright,. "We know what is best for you, we are smarter than you...See we went to school and we know how things are supposed to be."  Now if you would just get rid of your guns and religion, we can work for that shiny city on the hill as long as you would do as you are told by us since we know what is best for you."
Obamabots  This a special category of people, no matter what the president does, they will blindingly support him.no matter what.  These are the people that organize for him, protest for his policies(such as it were) and blindingly support him no matter how much damage he does.
