Another go at the 2nd amendment..."Can't let a crisis go to waste"

Well the democrats can't let a crisis go to waste,
Any excuse to chisel away at the 2nd amendment.  All in the name of "Common-Sense" gun control.  I will state the obvious, they use any tragedy to continue to ratchet down on the 2nd amendment.  It isn't gun control, they want,it is "people control" .  Liberals are busy bodies that want to not only control their life...they want to control yours also.  And if they can get away with killing the 2nd amendment, you will have no choice because the liberals control the tools of the state and they will try to bend you to their will.  If you don't comply they will send you to a gulag for "re-education" until you have paid your debt to their society via labor, you think I am being an alarmist?  Stalin did it in the 30's with his purges, Hitler did it in the 40's with the work and death camps, and Mao did it in the 60's, and history has a nasty habit of repeating itself.    Remember Saul Alensky, the hero to our "Dear Leader" and the other democrats, he had stated that to fundamentally transform the United States to the socialist utopia that they want, that they will have to kill 10% of the American people, the ones that will not toe the line.  This is the price that they are willing to pay for this socialist utopia, the great city in the hill that the progs have dreamed up. .  As long as we have the 2nd amendment and our right to defense of persons from tyranny and oppression, they cannot do that.

House Democrats Introduce New Gun Control Bill

Democrats in the House introduced new legislation Friday that supporters say would enact new protections to make sure that firearms don’t fall into the hands of the severely mentally ill.
The proposal, sponsored by Democratic Representatives Mike Thompson of California and Ed Perlmutter of Colorado, is called the “Promoting Healthy Minds for Safer Communities Act of 2014.” If passed, the legislation would place tougher restrictions on gun ownership by prohibiting individuals convicted of stalking, domestic violence or similar crimes from purchasing firearms. It would also revoke gun ownership rights from anyone involuntarily committed to a mental health facility.
“While no one law or set of laws can end gun violence, by taking these steps — and requiring background checks on all commercial gun sales — we can make our communities safer and prevent more shootings while respecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners,” Thompson said.
Furthermore, the bill would expand grant funding for State and local law enforcement education about Federal gun laws and bolster gun-violence prevention efforts. One such effort touted by supporters of the legislation would give lawmakers more options for attaining warrants to confiscate firearms from individuals they deem a danger to themselves or others.
The legislation was introduced exactly one week after a shooting tragedy in California involving a 22-year-old who had previously been investigated for possible mental disturbance by police. Officers reportedly interviewed the suspect and decided he was not a threat. The officers didn’t search his dwelling where supporters of the new House legislation say they would have found evidence of his murderous plans.
“This young man’s family reached out for support and did not find the support there,” Representative Elizabeth Esty (D-Conn.), said. “It is our duty, as members of Congress, to ensure that families, law enforcement [and] mental health professionals have the support they need to keep us safe.”
Critics of the legislation worry that broad language regarding citizens’ mental health history could lead to violations of both 2nd and 4th Amendment rights for people who have sought help with mental health issues unrelated to potential violence.
It’s unlikely that the bill will advance through the Republican-controlled House.

I will dissect this bill a bit at a time,  First off they state that anybody that was convicted for stalking, domestic violence and other similar crimes...this is feel good bullshit, the Lautenburg Amendment already does that.  This is just a smokescreen.  It also would revoke any bodies rights if they are "involuntary committed"  Involuntary committed by whom?   Get a judge that doesn't like you because he is a part of the elitist and believes that surfs don't need weapons?  Get committed *boom* your 2nd amendment rights are GONE.  Let me continue with this proposal...they want a background check on every commercial sale...Well that is already done, when you fill out the FFL 4473 they ask you several questions..from have you ever been committed to are you a part of a subversive movement, to have you ever been committed of domestic violence and have you committed a felony.  then they run a background through the NCIC before the store can sell you that firearm.    This is more smoke and mirrors.  They talk about funding more mental health issues, and here is the nugget that is inserted into this legislation..They would have more warrants to confiscate firearms from individuals that are "deemed a danger to themselves or others"   This is a very broad brush, how many preppers and other 2nd amendment advocates will get hemmed in this this law?  To get a warrant through a judge is pretty easy now...How many warrants have been sighed off that have no "probable cause" but because the DA had asked for them?  This is a slippery slope that will continue to split the "powers that be" from the rest of us.  This law will not pass in its present form, but it may get amended.  But if the Democrats get control of the house and senate, this bill will get pushed through and the 2nd amendment will continue to be assaulted and finally become a footnote in history.
