I got some really bad news yesterday, My Dad passed away and I am still in shock. He had some health issues relating to his Agent Orange, but it was his heart that failed, not his lungs. I had some post lined up, but it will be a a few days before I will post, my creativity is zapped.
I am going out of town to Foolzcon to visit Old NFO and many other characters and will not return until Sunday Night. If there is internet access, I will post some pics while I am there.
So sorry for your loss. Those guys like your Dad are really special to me. They were at war when I was a kid, a war broadcast on TV nightly. I served with many who were marking time in my unit to retirement. I serve now with many in three states with the Patriot Guard Riders. Wanna see a grizzled old guy tear up? Approach one wearing his Viet Nam Veteran hat or t-shirt and tell him (or her) "Welcome Home!"
ReplyDeleteHey Glypto;
DeleteThank you, the Pic was taken from a Patriot Guard Flag Line, I also do the PGR, I have his helmet when he gave his bike up a couple of years ago, he still participated but in "Caged" vehicles as they say. Will be strange doing a PGR mission without my Dad there.
Condolences.
ReplyDeleteWe'll add him to the entire too long list of people we toast come Memorial Day.
