Teddy Roosevelt...Day 1

I got this idea from Daddy Bear.  He has a great blog and you need to check it out.  He has been taking quotes from famous Americans then putting his take on them.  It is very well done.  Well when I was looking for some stuff to add to the story I posted about the athlete flying 2 flags.  I saw a lot of good stuff so I figured I would make a go at it.

"The one thing I want to leave my children is an honorable name."
Theodore Roosevelt

My belief is the same...no matter what all you do, when you cross in the great beyond, all you can take with you is your name, your reputation.  All the physical stuff stays here.  Your name is all you have that is uniquely yours.  There is only 1 of you, if you lived an honorable life, you will cross into the great beyond an honorable man.  If you lived a life by being dishonest, crooked, and treat other people poorly for your own amusement, that is how you will be remembered.  I believe that there are a special place for those people when they have to make the accounting before St Peter and the ledger.
When I cross over beyond the rim, I want them to say "here lies MrG..An honorable man"  There is no greater gift I can pass onto my son than to be a proper steward of the family name.  To show how an honorable person lives so he can also see how it is done so he can pass it on to his children, thereby that is my legacy.
