America the Confused This nation is not a perpetually filled cookie jar. Michael Smith   I don’t like what we have become. And when I say “we”, I mean Americans in general. I don’t want an America divided by class no matter how “class” is defined. I’m not a racist, a xenophobe, a bigot, or a “Christo-facist” (whatever that is) – but I am called one every day by people who employ hate against me and people like me and as they do, they think they won the debate. I’m for doing things to create an environment where people can succeed and those who do to help others to do the same. I am not for taking from some so things can be given to others. But people like me fight every day against people who are protected from the true status of actions they propose because government insulates them from its own failures as it slowly gobbles up America. Even the programs they say people love and need – like Social Security and Medicare (which are mandatory, by the way) – are failures and underperform when compared to what the free market has delivered in similar situations. People are going to deny this and claim that the free market is too expensive and volatile, but the expense and volatility has been caused by government distorting their own rules by expanding programs far beyond their goals at inception to try to escape the basic laws of economics. The people they support qualify as artificial intelligence simply because any evidence of intelligence is truly artificial. Bad people make for bad governance. Listen, I’m not blind to President Trump’s successes nor am I ignorant of his failures and excesses. I’m actually thankful for his unconventional approach to governance. I think he has made some mistakes while pursuing the right objectives, winning some and losing some, but most of which are successful resets and long-term actions that get lost in the leftist propaganda mill that runs 24/7/365 these days. The media will do anything and everything to minimize the positives and amplify the negatives. Democrats and their allies in the media want you to think only about the short term – the next election - even as they openly promise to make the long term as painful as possible if they are returned to power and call that “progress”. We need someone willing to burn the old system down and if he settles some scores in the process, more power to him. It’s not like they haven’t tried to ruin him and his family, put him in jail, bankrupt his businesses, or even kill him. I’m betting I’m not the only one thinking so. If you don’t support the President, you must ask yourself what the alternative could be. It sure as hell isn’t the old GOP or the libertarians who seem to find ways to make common cause with the Democrats and the left. These are people who can’t stand that they can’t just keep the loveable loser lifestyle going and let the Democrats give them a few wins that are meaningless but keep the money flowing. My problem with the GOP is that they are primarily to blame for why almost everything the government is and does today that is a constitutional violation, thanks to about a century and a half of stretching it to fit every desire either political party thinks will result in durable power for their team. And do not be fooled, the Constitution has disrespected and bent so far, a socialist state is entirely possible. They are already talking about kicking out the last stops. Once the left openly and confidently talk about confiscating wealth – of any wealth level – the bit is out of the horse’s mouth. Given that most programs and policies are only missing the government taking control of the means of production, it is a short trip to a truly oppressive, authoritarian state. And the left has already sanctioned political violence, including murder. Trump, at his worst, is no worse than the old baseline set by the establishment GOP who were controlled by a bunch of neocon globalists and that baseline is still a hell of a long way from where the hammer and sickle Democrats are today. His best represents a brand of politics and governance that wins and wins for all Americans whether they like it or not. We have just a few weeks before going to the polls. Some people are hell bent on selling their freedom (and yours) for promises that history has proven time and time again cannot be kept. There is no such thing as a free lunch and there are no complete solutions, only tradeoffs and yet a significant number of voters see America as a perpetual cookie jar that other people keep filled. That kind of thinking never ends well.
