Remember my talking about a fellow blogger and he vanished...Well he is back under a new site, he was doxxed, threatened with arrest, and to have his livelihood wiped away all because some SJW didn't like what he said. This blogger had 84,000 lifetime post in 5 years. His stuff has been tamer than my stuff, but he got targeted. Scary time we live in. I was checking my blogroll and noticed that "Behind Enemy Lines" hadn't posted for several days so I clicked on it and got this....
He ain't on twatter either?, I have a twatter account that I occasionally use and he was on it. Does anybody have any ideas?
EDIT: I got an email from Witold, he pulled his twatter account on account of President Trump being banned and he shut down his blog and saved the information and will open it again under a different name in a bit.
I am a huge fan of "The Far Side" comics, one of my favorite all time comics is this one...
We used "white out" to change the words in the cartoon while we were in Germany and subsitute names of our fellow soldiers to make the point more personal. It provided a lot of humor for us.
Now on the reason for this post, I have on my blogroll The Abode of McThag. He is a real good guy and has a warped sense of humor, but everytime I click on the Link to his blog I think of this cartoon from the "Far Side".
I hope Angus don't mind my putting a spotlight on his blog. He is a good guy and a very serious gamer and he also puts out a lot of cool stuff on stabby things and many other articles. If you don't have him bookmarked or on your blogroll, you are missing out.
A thagomizer is the distinctive arrangement of four to ten spikes on the tails of stegosaurid dinosaurs. These spikes are believed to have been a defensive measure against predators.
The arrangement of spikes originally had no distinct name; the term Thagomizer was coined in 1982 by cartoonist Gary Larsonin his comic The Far Side, and thereafter became gradually adopted as an informal term within scientific circles, research, and education.

There has been debate about whether the spikes were used simply for display, as posited by Gilmore in 1914,[or used as a weapon. Robert Bakker noted that it is likely that the stegosaur tail was much more flexible than those of other ornithischiandinosaurs because it lacked ossified tendons, thus lending credence to the idea of the tail as a weapon. He also observed that Stegosaurus could have maneuvered its rear easily by keeping its large hindlimbs stationary and pushing off with its very powerfully muscled but short forelimbs, allowing it to swivel deftly to deal with attack.In 2010, analysis of a digitized model of Kentrosaurus aethiopicus showed that the tail could bring the thagomizer around to the sides of the dinosaur, possibly striking an attacker beside it.

In 2001, a study of tail spikes by McWhinney et al.,showed a high incidence of trauma-related damage. This too supports the theory that the spikes were used in combat. There is also evidence for Stegosaurus defending itself, in the form of an Allosaurus tail vertebra with a partially healed puncture wound that fits a Stegosaurus tail spike.Stegosaurus stenops had four dermal spikes, each about 60–90 cm (2.0–3.0 ft) long. Discoveries of articulated stegosaur armor show that, at least in some species, these spikes protruded horizontally from the tail, not vertically as is often depicted. Initially, Marsh described S. armatus as having eight spikes in its tail, unlike S. stenops. However, recent research re-examined this and concluded this species also had four
The term "thagomizer" was coined by Gary Larson in jest, in a 1982 The Far Sidecomic in which a group of cavemen in a faux-modern lecture hall are taught by their caveman professor that the spikes on a stegosaur's tail are so named "after the late Thag Simmons".

My blog buddy Jim wrote a BOOK about Calexit several months ago, I almost wonder if Jim is clairvoyant or has ESP abilities. But I digress, Go get a copy of the book, it is well worth the read. In the case of Brexit, ordinary British citizens defied the
elites in Brussels who thought they know what’s best for the British
people. Calexit is the opposite. Proponents of Calexit are elitists who
are angry that Americans elected Trump and they want a divorce. Let’s

An estimated 2,350,000 illegal immigrants (about the population of
Connecticut) reside there too. In the new California they can all be
legalized and won’t have to dwell “in the shadows.”
Taxes in the state are astronomical and yet the fleecing of the
battered upper middle class has failed to keep roads and bridges from
crumbling, or the K-12 schools from performing dismally. I’d look for an
eastern wall to keep the remaining affluent within the borders.
When we shed California, we’ll be saying goodbye to state with the most murders per year.

Think about it. If California was its own country, there would
finally be a place for progressives who are embarrassed to live in
America. They can run it how ever they want and the rest of us can enjoy
life in the U.S, without them.
The Calexit movement is also a perfect example of how we got Trump.
It was middle class Americans in the midwest and elsewhere in the U.S.
who felt abandoned by DC elitists and saw in Trump a candidate who
listened to them. Democrats have shown no interest in winning back these
voters.
In fact, a leader of the Calexit movement appeared on the Tucker
Carlson show this week and said that he’s happy about middle class
citizens who are fleeing California for other states.

States.”
The Calexit proponent also said it is a “good thing” that the middle
class is fleeing the state because it will make room for the “new wave”
of immigrants. Singam told Carlson that “the United States” should be
thanking “us” for “exporting” the state’s middle class to the rest of
the country.
“If everyone in the middle class is leaving, that’s actually a good
thing. We need these spots opened up for the new wave of immigrants to
come up. It’s what we do,” Singam told Carlson…
“Tucker, you have to look at the bigger picture here,” Singam
answered. “The fifth largest economy in the world. Just repeat that. Say
it again. We are the fifth largest economy.”
“That’s the first time I’ve heard that,” Carlson said. “It’s
basically the economy of Mexico. You’ve got a small number of rich
people, the tech people, and then you’ve got a ton of poor people and
the middle class is leaving. That’s a recipe for instability. You’re
aware of that, right?”

come up. It’s what we do. We export our middle class to the United
States. You guys should be thanking us for that,” Singam said to a
stunned Carlson.

Again, this is how we got Trump. Let progressives have California.
They can ban guns, flood their country with as many refugees and illegal
immigrants as they please. They can also forfeit every penny of federal
assistance they currently enjoy, along with their 55 electoral college
votes.

Drill Sergeant Joe B. Fricks Rules For A Gunfight
RULES FOR A GUN, KNIFE, BASEBALL BAT OR FIST FIGHT
1. Forget about knives, bats and fists. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring
at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns. Bring four
times the ammunition you think you could ever need.
2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammunition is
cheap - life is expensive. If you shoot inside, buckshot is your
friend. A new wall is cheap - funerals are expensive.
3. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.
4. If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough or using cover correctly.
5. Move away from your attacker and go to cover. Distance is your
friend. (Bulletproof cover and diagonal or lateral movement are
preferred.)
6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a semi or full-automatic long gun and a friend with a long gun.
7. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.
8. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading,
and running. Yell "Fire!" Why "Fire"? Cops will come with the Fire
Department, sirens often scare off the bad guys, or at least cause then
to lose concentration and will.... And who is going to summon help if
you yell "Intruder," "Glock" or "Winchester?"
9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more
dependent on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the gun.
10. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
11. Always cheat, always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
12. Have a plan.
13. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won't work. "No battle
plan ever survives 10 seconds past first contact with an enemy."
14. Use cover or concealment as much as possible, but remember,
sheetrock walls and the like stop nothing but your pulse when bullets
tear through them.
15. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.
16. Don't drop your guard.
17. Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees. Practice
reloading one-handed and off-hand shooting. That's how you live if hit
in your "good" side.
18. Watch their hands. Hands kill. Smiles, frowns and other facial
expressions don't (In God we trust. Everyone else keep your hands where
I can see them.)
19. Decide NOW to always be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.
20. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.
21. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet if necessary, because they may want to kill you.
22. Be courteous to everyone, overly friendly to no one.
23. Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
24. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun, the caliber of which does not start with anything smaller than "4".
25. Use a gun that works EVERY TIME. "All skill is in vain when an
Angel blows the powder from the flintlock of your musket." At a
practice session, throw you gun into the mud, then make sure it still
works. You can clean it later.
26. Practice shooting in the dark, with someone shouting at you, when out of breath, etc.
27. Regardless of whether justified or not, you will feel sad about
killing another human being. It is better to be sad than to be room
temperature.
28. The only thing you EVER say afterwards is, "He said he was going
to kill me. I believed him. I'm sorry, Officer, but I'm very upset now.
I can't say anything more. Please speak with my attorney."
Finally, Drill Sergeant Frick's Rules For Un-armed Combat.
1: Never be unarmed.
2: If you have your hands, your feet, your mind and your Spirit as an
American Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine or Coastie, you are never
unarmed.

I am working a lot of overtime during the summer push and sleep is an issue, so I am blogging light until the weekdays get here.
I read this posting from Old NFO and it talked about heroes and the lionization of the WWII generation. and somehow it gave a pass to the next generation that was my Dads generation. Here is a blurb:
I remember my Dad coming home from his second tour and I was 7 years old in 1972. The war was winding down. I also remember my Dad watching the news intently on April 30 1975 when South Vietnam fell to the communist North. I remember the disdain that he was treated in the 70's when he did wear his uniform off post by certain people. I contrast that with the way we were treated in the first Gulf War when it was like some great crusade to free Kuwait. I am happy that the American Public with few exceptions treat the GI's better and don't blame them if they do not agree with the war. The Vietnam veterans were treated like crap from the peers of their generation and the same people that stayed in college and hid behind deferments and protested against the war and supported the Communist North and the Viet Cong. Now they are professors and am poisoning the new generation of young people in college. Now you don't go to college to get an education, you go to college to get indoctrinated in groupthink. Again I say, go follow the Link and read the article.
