I was in the service and overseas, and we uniformly had a poor opinion of the commercials on AFN, and besides they were a year behind in the networking shows from the world  and all we got was the cheesy commercials about how to be respectful of our host and no drinking and driving., ete,ete.  When I would get tapes from home, the commercials were just as popular as the shows that I got.
