Meet the latest victims of Obamacare............Students!!

Obamacare’s latest victims: college students...

I clipped this of a newspaper article I was reading....The same people that overwhelmingly supported the president.....just got shafted.....is that the sweet smell of "shadenfreude"    Ain't life a bitch...

I don't mean to sound like I am gloating.....but I guess I am a bit.   We warned that this day was coming...we screamed to the high heavens that this was coming....but the know it all college students overwhelmingly supported President Obama.  Ya know he promised "Hope and change'......."  Now they have to get a job in this obama economy and they are saddled with mounting debt and dim prospects of paying them off in their lifetime.
They could hide on their parents insurance.......for a while......anyway....

Obamacare’s latest victims are not women, the poor or even the elderly, but young, healthy and carefree college students.
Students at the University of South Carolina are in for a treat once they find out their schools’ tuition is going to cost them considerably more next year. The surprise will be even harder to assimilate once they learn that the Affordable Care Act is responsible for the increase.
The school claims that a tuition increase rate of 3.2 percent is necessary to help cover for the almost $18 million it needs to come up with to cover for the state-mandated employee pay raises, implementation of Obamacare and retirement benefits.
While the school is blaming the state for imposing the mandates without providing financial assistance first, it is also urging parents and students to understand their situation. The heavy-handed health care regulations and the increasing mandates regarding pay raises destined to employees are driving the tuition costs up and putting the school’s livelihood on the line.
But the University of South Carolina is not the only large employer suffering the consequences of the mandate. Under ACA, large employees are required to offer health coverage to any employee who puts in more than 30 hours of work a week. If employers are not able to meet these requirements, they are forced to pay a $2,000 fine per employee.
In many cases, companies prefer to go for the fine and end up ditching coverage altogether, leaving employees to search for health care insurance independently. This unintended consequence of the law’s employer mandate has been adding further financial burdens to hard-working low- and middle-income Americans.
For USC, the implementation of the ACA’s employer mandate alone will cost $4.5 million during the first six months of 2015, which will eventually turn into a burden only USC students can carry.
With the increasing number of Universities countrywide reporting rising tuitions related to the cost of ObamaCare, what was already a strain for students struggling with the thought of having to deal with student loans for most of their adult lives is turning into their worst nightmare.

"Coffeecare" an easy explaination for "Affordable Care Act" or "Obamacare"

I ran across this video on youtube.  and it used an interesting analogy to explain "obamacare" also known as the "Affordable Care Act".  Which in truth is anything but.   The video is pretty good and worth a look.

The President promises..."If you like your old plan...you can have it back...for 1 year"

I am still working on my veteran post...I will be camping "again" with the boy scouts this weekend but I will try to move the pics to a draft on the blog and save the draft so I can "flesh it out"  on the road.  I have been soo busy with boy scouts, I am asst scoutmaster at one troop and my son goes to another.  he doesn't mind...He gets twice the amount of scouting as everybody else...and he likes that.   I think every weekend since September has been tied up in scouting....Man I am tired.  But I digress....

I heard on the radio that the President told people "if you liked your old policy, you can have it back...for 1 year."    Lemme think....Is there an insurance company in existence after spending 3 years ramping up for Obunglercare will go back to an old policy...for 1 year...that is illegal under the Affordable Care Act*Obamacare*.   Do you see the legal implications......Yeah me too.   This is pure political chicanery, There are a bunch of Democrat senators that are up for re-election in 2014 and they are running scared.

They know that Obamacare is a train-wreck and they are "afearing for their political lives."   To use an old southernism.  The democrats know that they will pay for what is the affordable care act...you know the one that was passed strictly by democrats using back room tactics and political payoffs.   The American people...the ones that ain't hardcore liberals know what happened and they are pissed.   As is the people that got cancellations letters in the mail.  I think California had about a million of them that got cancelled because it didn't meet the standards that the ACA demanded.  Including pregnancy, neonatal, and other stuff, especially stuff that the older people didn't need or want.   Now we hear that the President "Misspoke" when he told people that they can keep their Dr and their insurance..if they liked them....It is funny that it is on video 29 times I think the President stating that if you liked your policy...you can keep it under the Affordable care act.....Now he "mispoke"
Reports have come out from CBS that the President knew that peoples policies would be cancelled, but  figured that the media would cover for him....again.  This is part of the liberal elitist, they know what is best for us....you know...the unwashed masses and they know like a parent knows what is best for their kids....it ain't what the kid wants.....it is what is best for the kids.   This in a nutshell is the problem with the liberal elitist.  They will say what is necessary to further their goals.   Having the President lie on national TV is part of the agenda.
Now back to Obamacare, there are navigators that have been hired that are felons, and you are required to give your private information to people that have been convicted of felonies......Does anybody else see a problem with this?   Also there is tapes of these same navigators telling people to falsify their income to qualify for subsidies to offset the cost of the new insurance plans on the exchanges.....Lie to the IRS...that is responsible for the implementation of Obamacare...Right....to the only agencies that believes you are guilty....unless proven innocent....in their court.....right.....  Anybody else see an issue with this?
The same program that calls for hiring 16000 new IRS agents...and we know from past performance that the IRS will be totally impartial in their dealings with the American public.
And the President bragged that they have had over 100,000 people access the website to get their insurance....access and completion are to different acts.  Many people accessed the new health exchanges...to get insurance..that they have to have...or get penalized by the IRS...you know the same agencies that treated conservative and tea party groups with such respect and decorum.  The web site still have problems and they brought the people that made "google" to try to fix it......why didn't they do this 3 years and 640 million dollars ago.

I don't know if the anger will continue to the 2014 elections...Obama don't want to be a lame duck President, and he needs to have full control of congress to rubberstamp what ever he still wants to achieve in his agenda.

Dammm, I hate being right....

Well I was riding around doing errands and I was listening to the news today and I hear "Dear Leader" say that any negotiations with the GOP will have to have no stipulations, he wants to have a clean slate budget passed and he also want the debt ceiling raised BEFORE he is willing to talk to the GOP.   Damm, I hate being right, I figured the intransigence was due to the debt ceiling, so the FEDGOV can borrow more money to keep the bennies flowing to the looter class so they can expand it and stay in power.  I talked about it last Friday.  Even the lamestream media is starting to notice the strident tones coming from the White House,  and the total unwillingness of the president to want to talk to congress, he is acting imperial and they are starting to notice that.  Not enough cracks are in the facade to break the total support they have for him.     The affordable care act has started off to a rough start, and many people that actually are trying to use the exchange are discovering that the system is crashing due to many incompatibility issues and plugins that it is using.  I have heard guestimates of 6 months to fix all the problems.

That isn't all, they are finding out that all the information that they are entering is freely available to all facets of the government, that there is no expectation of privacy and there have had sites hacked and peoples personal information stolen.   Also people have started getting their adjusted insurance in the mail the new insurance that is in compliance with Obunglercare:   Here is an excerpt:

Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura are big believers in the Affordable Care Act. They vote independent and are proud to say they helped elect and re-elect President Barack Obama.
Yet, like many other Bay Area residents who pay for their own medical insurance, they were floored last week when they opened their bills: Their policies were being replaced with pricier plans that conform to all the requirements of the new health care law.
They voted for Obungler and Obunglercare and now they are getting just what they deserve. Ain't Schadenfreude a bitch
Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four.
The Messiah said that if people like their policies and their insurance companies...they can keep them....Yeah Right...

I was laughing at Boehner — until the mail came today,”
Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare.

“I really don’t like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family’s pocket each year, that’s otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy.”
 "Welcome to the Party Pal..."
The Republicans are trying to help you, you clueless idiots. They told you this law would be a disaster, but you believed all the bullshit Obungler, ex-Speaker Nancy "You have to pass it to see what is in it", and Harry the ghoul  were pushing and you voted for this disaster. You voted to screw yourselves.  You voted against your economic interest in the interest of "fairness" and Diversity....and it now bit you in the ass...
“Of course, I want people to have health care,” Vinson said. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”
You can read more at the Link

I have been told by several liberals   "Well it is the law of the land...so deal with it."  I replied  "Well so was Dredd Scott and 700,000 Americans died fixing that little problem.   You really want to go there again?"

Now "Dear Leader" is pushing for a blank check on the debt ceiling, and he is totally expecting the establishment GOP to fold and capitulate like the French did in 1940, and for those that don't understand the reference, France had what many experts considered the most powerful modern armed forces in Europe, but Germany had a new way of fighting and the French were divided up with internal division, also a social rot had permeated the culture and many of the French when the time came to fight for their country, they just rolled over, they were mentally beaten by an inferior force but better tactics and leadership.  Now Obungler wants more money to spend,
I also hear the same place at the Washington mall that was closed by imperial fiat to the average citizen and WWII vets, somehow is open so a  future democrat voters pro amnesty rally can be held today......The double standards are galling and many people still are clueless what is going one.   I am trying to wrap my head around this and I am having a hard time with it.

Obamacare and the effects on "Big" Companies

As those that read my blog know that I think very poorly of the "Affordable Care Act" A.K.A. Obamacare, I think it is an attempt to control the population not to provide superior coverage or health benefits.  What I mean by "control"?   That is easy, you always hear the talk around election time especially from the AARP and other groups that seem to beholding to the democrats, they go and scare the crap out of the older people with the often used phrase" If you vote for the republicans, they will cut off your social security and your medicare and push you off the cliff".  And it works, it gets the blue hair crowd worked up and they vote as a block and they have the highest voting percentage of any age group.  Now we have the democrats trying to push amnesty through to get 11 million more democrat voters " if you vote republican, they will deport you back to Mexico or what 3rd world craphole you came from" and it will scare the crap out of the Hispanic crowd..Boom...More votes locked into the democrat machine.  Now we have Obamacare, this will be used to control the rest of the population.  " You are a member of the Tea party?  Well it seems that your kids/spouse/ whomever care is delayed...again.   Sorry about that.  Now if you just were not so critical of the President and policies you understand"?   And guess what...how many people would be silenced.  It would be a socialist utopia with no dissent.  Now they want to help impliment Obamacare though the IRS
You know the IRS...the same organization that goes out of the way to target groups with constitutional names, they go out of their way to harass them and audit them.  Now they want to hire 16,000 more agents to enforce the diktats of Obamacare, you know the only agency in the United States that if you go before them, you are immediately presumed "Guilty" unless you can prove them wrong.  So we will have 16,000 more agents looking for things to justify their jobs.  Nothing like scaring the crap out of people...Just mention the IRS, the only organization that will seize your house, bank accounts and everything you got with out a hearing and you have to go to THEIR court and try to get your stuff back.
Now this brings me back to Obamacare, I and many people have heard that Obamacare you can keep your present insurance and it will not affect you one bit.  Well those that read my blog on a regular basis know that I work for one of those big companies and it will affect us a lot.  We had our vice president of Human resources send a letter to Ms Tavenner one of the people that works with the dept of health and human services, who reports to Secretary Sebelius who reports to President Obama.

Here is an excerpt of that letter:
"As you know, I and the other large employer representatives in attendance
i did not agree with your initial assessment that the ACA means “business as usual” for large
employers. Since you committed to share our concerns with Secretary Sebelius and the President, I thought
it might be helpful to summarize the major points for you here.

As you heard from many of us, the ACA will result in increasing costs, for both companies and our
employees, and will also reduce the benefits provided. Here are some of the major drivers of these effects:
The Reinsurance Fee
The ACA requires large employers to pay an annual fee of $63 per covered
participant in 2014. For XXXXX roughly 160,000 enrolled active and retired employees and their
family members, this represents more than $10 million added to the cost of providing
health care
next year. As we discussed, this fee, which is meant to help stabilize the state exchanges as they get
started, provides absolutely zero direct benefit to our participants. It is, essentially, a direct subsidy
from us and our employees to those who participate in the exchanges

Covering Children Until Age 26
There is no doubt that this has been a popular provision
nationwide and at XXXXX we have seen more than 8,000 children added to our rolls resulting in a
permanent increase in our overall
costs of about $14 million per year. We are required to charge the
same for these children as we do for any other children covered by our plan. However, our
experience shows that, on average, these children are consuming considerably more health care
than
other children we cover. In essence, we are experiencing adverse selection in this population and
that is having an impact on the costs that we and our employees pay for coverage.
The Individual Mandate
As you know, in 2014, the individual mandate
under the ACA kicks in and
those not currently covered under any plan must enroll or pay a penalty to the Federal government.
Our actuaries have estimated how many of those who currently opt out of our coverage will now opt
in. Their estimates are that this
requirement will add another $14 Million in costs to our plan each
year, net of the premiums paid by these individuals.
Thirty Hour Rule
As you heard at the meeting, many employers are planning to reduce employees’
hours to less than thirty per week
in order to avoid the requirements to either provide health coverage
or pay fees for those employees. XXXXX is not one of those employers, and we do not plan to force
employees to work fewer hours as a result of the ACA. For others, however, this represents one of
the negative unintended consequences of the ACA and we support efforts to raise the limit to forty
hours per week rather than thirty.
Pay or Play Penalties
The group health coverage XXXXX provides to its full time employees more
than meets the
definition of “affordable coverage” as defined by the ACA. However, the proposed
regulations that implement this provision of the law are very complex and, when finalized, may
unnecessarily impose HR information systems changes that will be costly to build and maintain.  In
addition, there are many unsettled principles surrounding this provision of ACA and based on the
fact that it is already June, employers will not have time to react should final regulations be issued
this year. This puts employers at
risk of being assessed these penalties in innocent situations (such as
when employees take voluntary leaves of absences) and imposes additional costs, even in those
situations where the vast majority of employees are offered affordable, comprehensive coverage.
Cadillac Tax
Recent data released is evidence of what you heard in the meeting
employers are
reducing or eliminating rich plan designs in order to ensure they do not pay the tax, since doing so
would represent a significant waste of money. At XXXXX, we did that last year as we eliminated one of
the plan designs available to our pilot group specifically because it would have risked being subject
to the Cadillac tax. However, keep in mind that, eventually, it is not just the “rich” plan designs that
will be affected. Essentially, the Cadillac tax level represents a “ceiling” on the value of benefits
provided in health plans. However, that ceiling rises each year only at the rate of the consumer price
index (CPI). On the other hand, medical inflation is rising at a higher rate than CPI.  The way the
math works, given enough years, all plans will eventually risk being subject to the Cadillac Tax and
as they do, the natural reaction will be to continually reduce benefits provided in order to avoid the tax.
At XXXXX we are doing a lot of positive things to provide a platform for our employees to live healthier, more
productive lives. We offer free preventive coverage, we offer telemedicine services, a concierge nurse line
and great tools that provide
vital data (such as it exists) on quality and cost among the provider community.
We provide incentives that reward employees for doing the things that help lead to better long
term health.
But make no mistake
the costs imposed on XXXXX and our employees are very real and they are escalating.
The costs mentioned above, when combined with normal medical inflation and the end of the ERRP program
mean that the cost of providing health care to our employees will increase by nearly $100,000,000 next year.
XXXXX will have to absorb the vast majority of that increase in costs so that we continue providing a high
value, high quality health plan, but some of it will have to be shared with our employees as well. And of
course, the balance that the company pays simply means less left over for other investments that make our business stronger.
In closing, the ACA is anything but business as usual for large employers like XXXXX. It represents real and
significant changes that provide real challenges for both our
company and our employees. Thank you for the
opportunity to provide this input. If I can be of assistance in any other way, please do not hesitate to contact
me.
Respectfully,

Life Under Obamacare.....

I and many other conservatives railed against Obamacare since its inception, we knew that this wasn't about covering the so called 30 million uninsured or some crap, this was control pure and simple.  it is easier to control a populace if they are disarmed and depend on the government for many services. including medical care.   People become very malleable when it comes to the care of loved ones.   Imagine a person that has strong political beliefs and is vocal against the democrats and the obamamessiah,,,all of a sudden the care for his elderly mother or his wife or kids comes into question....Have an IRS agent....you know the organization that under Obamacare has the authority to hire 16,000 additional agents to enforce obamacare...you know the organization that got caught auditing conservative groups either on their own violation which shows an agency that has gone rogue and believes that it is untouchable or at the behest of either the democratic party or the union bosses or even at the behest of President" We have an election to win"  Obama.   They will make an appearance and "remind" you that certain things can happen unless you are very supportive of the President and his policies.  This shows that the IRS doesn't believe in the word of Law...rather it selectively enforces rules to its or its benefactors benefits.   This doesn't bode well for the country.   I wonder if there will be a push to defund Obamacare...or will congress just have hearings to give the Republicans and Democrat politicians political cover since they are all statist anyway and they like a cowed populace, makes it easier for them to remain in power.   You wonder why there has been a concerted push against the second amendment?  The Justice department that is selectively enforcing laws got caught pulling phone records of the AP staff?  This is by accident?   Nothing here but to remind the Obamamedia what can happen if they deviate from the crafted script.

All of this is be design to make the citizenry helpless.  They just got their hand caught in the cookie jar...this time.  I wonder what other scandals are floating out there compliments of the most transparent administration in history.

Defunding Obamacare...?

Maybe the Republicans are getting a set of balls...finally.   The GOP unless they have principles will be in the wilderness crying because they are not being heeded.   President Obama and the democrats will demagogue the issues, they will play it the "Rich vs the rest of the nation" but they will not offer a plan of their own since it is easier to pass continuing resolution and play politics than actually try to solve any problems.

The Houston Chronicle suggests that the amendment being offered by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, to delay funding for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, in the continuing resolution is starting to gain some support in the Senate.

Other Republican conservatives have joined
The Houston Chronicle notes that a number of conservative senators have joined in support of Cruz's amendment, including Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. The continuing resolution will fund the government through the end of the fiscal year. Cruz's amendment is called "Restore Growth First" because it delays funding for Obamacare until economic growth in the United States rises to the historical average of 3.3 percent per year, according to a press release published by Breitbart News. Cruz does indicate that his ultimate goal is to see Obamacare repealed.
Mitch McConnell will support the amendment
The Washington Examiner reported that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., will support Cruz's amendment. While the Republican Senate caucus remains somewhat divided about what to do about Obamacare, with enthusiasm flagging among moderates for opposing the law, McConnell's support may provide some motivation for that faction of the Senate Republicans to get on board Cruz's amendment. The amendment, even if it comes up to a vote, is unlikely to pass. It is expected that the 55 senate Democrats will march in lockstep and will vote against the Cruz amendment. But the purpose is to force Democrats, especially vulnerable Red State senators who are up for re-election, to once again vote in favor of a law that Reason Magazine notes is becoming increasingly unpopular again after a brief spike in support after the November election.
Meanwhile, in the House
The House has sent mixed signals concerning Obamacare. After the House GOP leadership squashed an attempt by conservatives to defund Obamacare in its own version of the continuing resolution, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan has produced an FY2014 budget that assumes complete repeal of the health care law. The budget bill, which also reforms entitlements and taxes, may well pass the House but would unlikely get much approval in either the Democratic Senate and certainly not in the Obama White House. However, it is expected that the document will serve as a negotiation position with which House Republicans will use in talks with the White House to attempt -- once again -- to come up with a deal to fix the continuing budget deficit.

Our future under Obamacare..

I saw this from one of the British newspapers that I read.

The British NHS is the standard that the people that espouse Obama-care want, the single payer(read tax-payer-funded) system.  The system that will be full of government employees that cannot be fired for being incompetent because they are part of a union which contribute to democrats.    The system that will reward sloth and multiculturalism. not empathy and competence.

     Our future under obamakare

Julie saw how the heroic kindness of a few good nurses and doctors was over-ridden by the careless, the bullying and power-hungry
Julie saw how the heroic kindness of a few good nurses and doctors was over-ridden by the careless, the bullying and power-hungry
The room was grubby, cramped and windowless, and Julie Bailey had been summoned to it by a hospital doctor. He clicked his fingers to demonstrate how swiftly her mother’s condition could decline, warning that the end would not be merciful. ‘Your mother will die a painful death,’ he said. ‘It is best that you leave her here with us.’

She did not hear the medical explanation that ensued. She was mute with shock; confounded. Then the doctor slid a piece of paper towards her. It was a Do Not Resuscitate form. Quietly but firmly, he urged Julie to sign it. Suddenly she was alert, defiant. ‘Of course I will not allow my mum to die!’ she said, refusing to sign the form.

For Julie, 50, a café owner from Stafford, the incident was pivotal. It marked the moment when she resolved that she would never again leave her mum Bella, 86, alone in the hospital; the moment her faith in its staff evaporated entirely.
‘Before I left the room, I told the doctor: “As long as my mother is in this hospital, she will have her family with her. I have no trust in you. She is not safe here”,’ Julie recalls.

Thereafter, for the next eight weeks until Bella Bailey did indeed die, with a degree of pain and terror that could have been avoided, her daughter remained at her bedside, day and night.

On the rare occasions when Julie — a divorcee and mum to Laura, 23, and Martin, 33 — left her post to go home for a night of unbroken sleep, other family members rallied.

And during the round-the-clock vigil, the scenes she witnessed were harrowing. The ward was filthy; patients sounded their buzzers in vain. Julie, unable to ignore the chaos, stepped in. ‘I emptied a bowl of vomit; scrubbed blood from walls; helped a patient onto a commode. I washed faeces from the hands of one elderly woman who had been left in the same soiled clothes for four days.

‘There was one confused patient who was so parched with thirst because she had no water that she drank stagnant water from flower vases.
