Quora Question "What are the benefits of Gun Registration?"

 I saw this question and decided to answer it honestly, I did it while I was on break at work, and here and there if you know what I mean.  I decided to give it a fair answer than rant and scream about it.   here is the answer I gave on the Quora forum:

     Initially it could be used to track the ownership of a firearm in the case of its use in a crime and if the owner can account for it. Basically, narrows down the subject pool. That being said, once the government goes from benevolent to tyrannical, once the government has that information, once they decide that a certain class of people cannot own any sort of firearms, they already know who they are. This happened to the German Jews in the 1930's when their rights as German citizens were stripped by edicts from the Nazi government, one of them being that they had to wear that “Star of David” on their clothing, and all jew owned businesses had to identify as such with signs. This of course led to “ Krystallnacht” where the brownshirts trashed Jewish owned businesses because they were blamed for the “Reichtag” fire which the Nazi's actually set but used to blame the Jews. The results were the destruction of the identified Jewish businesses. They also had their firearms seized earlier because the German government knew about them before the Nazi's took over and the Nazi's used the power of government to strip away the means of defense of their political opponents. You can't do the “Final solution to the Jewish problem “if they make it difficult on you. “ It can't happen today” is the phrase bandied about, but I will bring up a recent history event….Covid…remember during the height of the scare there were talks of stripping the rights of the “unvaxxed” putting them in camps, taking their kids away “ firing them, and banishing them from society, all in the name of “ the public good”, the same language used by the brownshirts against the Jews in Germany in the 1930's. Remember the hysteria? The fear? Certain groups tapped into that fear for their own purposes. We as a society are still recovering from it. Australia did put people that refused to vaxx into camps. As I recall in Victoria I believe, going by memory here. That is one of the fears is that if the government goes full tyrannical, and your guns are already seized they can do to you and yours with no repercussions. Sure, they can put you in a camp but if they get pain in the process, it slows them down.

I have used this quote before, the government is to serve the people, not the other way around, and right now there are a lot of people that believe that they by their schooling, family and beliefs have it in their hearts that they know what is best for “us” and if we just would get with the program under their tutelage utopia will arrive. Well real life doesn’t work like that, they believe that there should be 2 classes of people, the rich and the poor and the poor would be beholding to them for leadership, guidance, sustenance and so forth. Such people if they depend on you, will do what you say. Well, the middle class we tend to have our own wealth and tend as a group to be armed. so, they can’t run roughshod over us because we don’t depend on them.

It is a truism of history, registration always eventually to confiscation. And after confiscation, comes persecution, The Turks did it to the Armenians, Stalin did it to the Ukrainians, The Holomdor is real to them. Pol Pot did it to his fellow Cambodians, and there are more examples in history. The truth of it is that there comes no good if the government knows how among the citizens are armed. kinda keeps them honest. And if someone says “You can’t fight an F-15” or some other high tech weapon system, as I recall the Vietnamese did pretty good as did the Afghans.

The civil disobedience continues.....in the blue zone

There is a Movement in the blue states(The states in the northeast corridor) that are overwhelming "blue" I.E Vote Democrat no matter what.  There are a lot of pissed off people and they flat out will not register their firearms with the state that is demanding that they do so. The states pushed through these edicts after the new-town shooting hoping to capitalize on the emotions to run through their disarmament schemes on the citizens.   The states in question being Connecticut and New York  are giving firearm owners a "second chance" to register their EBR(Evil black Rifles) and hundreds of thousands of people will not do it.  I think the states in question will try to raid a few houses whose people were "late" in registering them to make "examples" out of them in defying the edicts of the state.  After a few are killed or their house is ransacked and their pet is gunned down."In the name of officer Safety..Of course"  the other people will start fighting back and I am not sure that the state police will be so froggy to jump through the next door.  This is a massive civil disobedience going on and many people are pissed.

      many others are leaving the state as have several businesses moved to more gun friendly areas of the country.   People have asked me why am I such a 2nd amendment zealot.  I reply, " I have seen the Nazi Death camps" and what happens when the state can by imperial fiat shove people into a cattle car and send them off to be killed and they have no recourse because the state had the guns and the people didn't have any.

If you are not sure what those are...Those are the scratches made by fingernails of the people that were stuck in the "Showers" and were trying to get out.   When you see this stuff, it leaves an indelible impression.
     The following article is from the jpfo.org. they are a jewish 2nd amendment organization, that has scads of research and other material in support of the 2nd amendment. 


They're burning registration forms! They're rallying by the thousands. They're pledging civil disobedience. They're swearing to resist, to disobey, even if it makes them felons. They're angry, they're defiant, they've had it and they aren't going to take it any more.
Who are they? No, they're not 1960s draft resisters. They're not anti-nuke activists or scruffy Occupy Wall Street protestors. Heck, chances are some of them actually work on Wall Street.
They are the gun owners of the bluest blue states. They're the respectable men and women of the mid-Atlantic region. They're people who have, in the past, submitted to the rules even when they didn't like them -- or at least kept their mouths shut about their non-compliance.
But not any more.
The spate of pointless blue-state legislation against "assault weapons" and standard-capacity magazines that followed the Newtown school shooting sought -- as usual -- to punish millions of people who didn't commit the crime by registering or outright banning firearms that just happen to look scary to hoplophobes.
This time it didn't work.

• In New York, where owners of "assault weapons" have until April 15 to register them, thousands burned registration paperwork instead.
• In Connecticut, the December 31, 2013 register-or-surrender deadline passed -- and was resoundingly ignored by an estimated 85 percent of its intended targets. (And that's despite the fact that, unlike New York, where it's a misdemeanor, failure to register is a felony in Connecticut.) TheBlaze.com reported, "...officials and some lawmakers are stunned."
• In New Jersey, as a particularly ridiculous bill loaded with unintended consequences moved through the legislature, lawmakers had to face a nine-year-old competitive shooter who threatened to move out of state. (Not to mention a tongue-in-cheek campaign by the New Jersey Second Amendment Society to send gun magazines to some bigoted politicians.)
• Meanwhile, 19 states and 34 congresspeople, and the NRA sued New Jersey over one of its existing bad gun laws.
• Rhode Island gun-rights activists have so far managed to keep a host of ugly bills bottled up on committee while frustrating one state senator so badly he spewed an obsenity at a Second Amendment supporter. They also elected themselves some hopefully more rights-friendly politicians, too.
• While individual Maryland gun owners have been quieter about the "merely bad" law inflicted upon them, Maryland-based Beretta objected enough to announce it would be expanding -- in Tennessee

In some cases, anti-gun legislators ended up shooting themselves in the foot. In the months after Newtown, some Delaware politicians hoped to pass "reasonable" victim-disarmament legislation. But when a staffer mistakenly introduced a bill that revealed their real intention, they had to withdraw the bill and slink away. Their intended victims were onto them -- and could prove it.
Rage and resistance continue to build. A rally in Connecticut on April 5 drew as many as 5,000 gun owners, some lawfully bearing arms. (David Codrea was its keynote speaker.
As New York's registration deadline looms, "hardly anyone is signing up."
It seems people have not only had it with absurd, pointless gun laws. They may have finally grasped that registration leads to confiscation.
Taken one-by-one, these developments don't seem to mean much. Taken together, they're an absolutely remarkable record of resistance -- with more to come.
In old Hollywood movies and before that, in even older novels there was a phrase: "The natives are restless." This phrase usually turned up just before said natives went on a rampage against clueless "civilized" people. At that moment in the movies, you'd hear the sound of beating drums and angry hubub in a language that none of the "civilized" people could comprehend.
Well ... the natives (of formerly complacent blue states) are getting restless indeed. And too many clueless anti-gun politicians are still failing to comprehend the language of gun rights.
Just as in those old movies, this is not likely to end well for those who seek to dominate "the natives."

Register nothing....It is none of their business

I saw this on Freedom Outpost.   I have been busy with Scout stuff for the past couple of days.    I have been paying to what is going on in CT and NY.  Those politicians have started up a hornets nest up there and a lot of people ain't gonna back down.  Those people that got screwed when they registered late, and have been told that they have to turn in those weapons or get rid of them, kinda let the cat out of the bag as far as the leftist collectivist statist Democrat politicians have planned.   Many people will defy the law and after a few die in midnight raids by the state police, the rest of them will not go quietly into that long night and it will get nasty.

Town Hall: CT Gov. Malloy References Constitution – Patriot Shouts “Why Don’t You Read It Sometime!”

Last night in Milford, Connecticut, a town hall meeting took place. Connecticut Governor Dannel Patrick Malloy, who signed into law a mandatory gun registration bill this year that criminalizes once law abiding citizens, was in attendance. In doing so, not only was Malloy attacking the Second Amendment of the United States, but as I have previously pointed out, he attacked his own State Constitution. However, during the meeting as Governor Malloy was addressing a particular statement of a gentleman in attendance, he made reference to the US Constitution. A lone female voice can be overheard exclaiming, "Why don't you read it sometime!"

Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman held the microphone as a small business owner spoke to Malloy, saying that he was at a disadvantage in his linen supply business because adjacent states have a lower wage structure. As a result, restaurants in the area were outsourcing their business.The full video can be viewed here.

"I think that's not only a state issue," Malloy said, "but we've got this thing called the Constitution, so it makes it a little difficult to do some of the things you suggest."

At the twenty second mark, you can hear the voice of Linda Czaplinski from Oxford, Connecticut calling out to Malloy, "Why don't you read it sometime!"

According to her friend, and now mine, Palin Smith, who is also the gentleman videoing the event, "She is a gunslinger, our verbal Annie Oakley, our Joan of Arc in Connectcut."

Indeed, Linda is not one to back down from calling out gun grabbing politicans. Just take a look at this confrontation last year as she schools Senator Chris Murphy at a town hall meeting at the Art Gallery of Mancheter Community College.

John Cinque, who I told you about the other day, was supposed to attend the event. Sadly, he was unable to do so, but according to Smith, there are attempts being made to have talks between Cinque and Joe Visconti, who is seeking to unseat Governor Malloy.

So far tens of thousands of Connecticut patriots have refused to register their guns, even though they have been sent letters demanding that they surrender their weapons and have even had state police claim that they sound un-American and anti-law. Some patriots have even issued a warning to those that would seek to confiscate their weapons.

Interestingly enough, today marks the 178th anniversary of the fall of the Alamo. It looks like the new Alamo is Connecticut. Let's pray and lend our support to our fellow patriots in the "Constitution State," hoping that they will stand firm and fast against the reincarnation of the same tyranny that oppressed the North during the days of our founding fathers.

Obamacare data to be used to create a defacto database on firearm possession.

I got this from JPFO, there are more concerns that Obunglercare will be used to continue the endrun around the 2nd Amendment.  From Obunglercare computers stating that all information that you input belongs to the government from your personal financial data to your medical data from your Dr, will be available to any government agency that desires access to it.  Many people are concerned that this is a back door gun registry.  Remember the company that got the no-bid contract to build the database is the same Canadian company that screwed up a gun registry in Canada and got booted off the contract.   Ain't crony capitalism great!  I wonder how much they "donated" to the coffers of the democrats, the pay to play Chicago politics that the Obama Whitehouse is known for.    Also the data would be used to strip people of their 2nd amendment rights by imperial fiat.

What does gun control have to do with health care? As odd as it seems, Obamacare contains provisions that jeopardize gun ownership, especially for veterans. Anti-gun provisions were added to initial drafts of Obamacare legislation under the pretext of prohibiting people with mental illness – which can include PTSD - from owning guns. Fortunately, the NRA stepped in and got some of the worst language revised last December. Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c. prohibits the creation of a firearms database and stops doctors from disclosing or collecting information relating to a patient's firearms. Ironically, this provision was probably the only positive result of most members of Congress not bothering to read the bill before voting on it.
However, the provision does not go as far as prohibiting doctors from asking their patients if there are any firearms in their home. In January, Obama issued 23 executive actions and orders regarding firearms. Order 16 stressed that Obamacare does not prohibit doctors from asking patients about their firearms, and the fact sheet includes, "Clarify that no federal law prevents health care providers from warning law enforcement authorities about threats of violence." What constitutes a "threat of violence" could be very arbitrary. This puts doctors in a difficult position by suggesting they act as pseudo-law enforcement agents. It is damaging to doctor-patient privilege. If doctors have a patient with PTSD or mental illness, and they fail to ask the patient about their firearms, or report them to law enforcement, they could be on the hook later. It encourages them to err on the side of snooping into their patients' guns. This is especially troubling considered the definition of mental illness keeps expanding.
The state of Florida implemented legislation that would have severely restricted a doctor's ability to ask a patient about guns at home, but a federal court struck it down as unconstitutional. After the NRA got that provision added, the organization backed off on pressing for further changes, no doubt because trying to get more changes done at that time would have been impossible with the Democratic-controlled Senate and presidency. But there are still areas within our healthcare laws that could prohibit Americans from owning firearms – specifically our veterans.
In the 1990s, the Clinton administration ordered the Department of Veteran Affairs to share information about 90,000 veterans considered "mentally defective" by the VA to the FBI, so they could be added to the national instant check system (NICS) as prohibited possessors. To be declared "mentally defective" by the VA does not require an adjudication; it could be a doctor merely finding that a veteran has a mental illness and "lacks the mental capacity to contract or manage his own affairs." That could easily be held to apply to a veteran with PTSD who is simply in a wheelchair. The definition of "mental defective" by Veteran Affairs expanded under Clinton in 1999. The number of Americans now in the prohibited possessors database has increased to over 550,000 and 11 percent of them are veterans. Nearly 40 percent of veterans are believed to have PTSD.
Under Obamacare, federal agencies like the ATF can still pore over health records and determine who has mental issues or PTSD. There is nothing in Obamacare that prohibits another federal agency from compiling a database of gun owners.
Gun Owners of America warns that the next step will be linking insurance with gun ownership. Some private insurers, including State Farm and Prudential, drop homeowners from their policies for owning certain types of guns or not using trigger locks. It's not difficult to see how this could be adopted as a requirement of Obamacare in the vague name of "health."
The problem with linking gun control with health care is that everyone knows gun crimes are almost always caused by criminals who illegally obtained the weapons, not law-abiding gun owners. Painting all veterans who have PTSD as potential criminals isn't going to stop the real criminals. There are hundreds of shooting and hunting excursions available for veterans today to specifically help them cope with PTSD. To arbitrarily exclude all of these patriots from rehabilitation with proven results is political manipulation at its worst. Taya Kyle, the widow of the American Sniper who was shot by a mentally ill veteran while helping him shoot for rehabilitation, now speaks out against restricting Second Amendment rights. It wasn't the killer's PTSD that caused the murder, he had a much more troubled history than just PTSD.
Organizations like the NRA and Gun Owners of America continue to expose these sneaky backdoor attempts at gun control. There are plenty of health-care groups clamoring to have Obamacare limit gun ownership, like the American Academy of Pediatrics. They're not going to stop, as revisions can still be added to Obamacare to tweak it. David Satcher, a surgeon general under President Bill Clinton, who headed the Centers for Disease Control in the 1990s, is blatantly open that the goal is to create a national database of gun owners through Obamacare. "Privacy needs to be protected, but it's important that this kind of data be gathered," he said. These feel-good measures actually endanger safety, not promote it. As the NRA's Wayne LaPierre says, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."
