Many of the GOP retiring because they fear violence against them and their families.

Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., speaks to reporters at the Republican baseball team's first practice of the year at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park in Alexandria, Virginia, on Wednesday. (Tom Williams/CQ Roll Call)

Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks suggested in a radio interview that Republicans are retiring en masse because of assassination fears.
Brooks was speaking on “The Dale Jackson Show” about the first Republican practice the Congressional Baseball Game after last year’s shooting that left Majority Whip Steve Scalise severely injured.
“We have multiple rings of security, plainclothes, uniform, Capitol Police, other police,” he said. “There was a medical vehicle nearby just in case there was a copycat.”

But Brooks said while there were multiple factors that contributed to a slew of Republicans leaving the House, he suggested fears of violence was a major one.
“One of the things that’s concerning me is the assassination risk may become a factor,” he said.
Brooks referred to the fact many members of the Republican baseball team are retiring, including Sen. Jeff Flake and Reps. Ryan Costello, Pat Meehan, Dennis Ross and Tom Rooney.
“You have to wonder with that kind of disproportionate retirement number whether what happened in June played a factor,” he said.
Brooks also pointed to the fact that in the past month, a man pled guilty to threatening Arizona Rep. Martha McSally and three different people have been arrested for threatening Reps. Scott Taylor and Tom Garrett of Virginia and Frank LoBiondo of New Jersey.
“Notice a trend here?” he said. “I have a congressman who is a friend here who has a three-year old daughter whose daughter was threatened with murder.”

He also said the “socialist Bernie Sanders wing of society” was pushing for a revolution that would lead to Maoist level of violence.
“There are a growing number of leftists who believe the way to resolve this is not at the ballot box but through threats and sometimes through violence and assassinations,” he said.
When pressed about his suggestion, Brooks said it was a “possible” factor.
“I don't think any of these people who are retiring would say that, but just looking at the numbers,” he said. “That’s out of whack.”
Some of the republicans are leaving due to issues with President Trump, Some are leaving because they fear midterm elections, but I wonder how many are leaving due to safety reasons.  I do know that the antifa wing of the democrat party have no compunction about pulling in someones family .  They justify the reason because well the GOP are NAZI's so they get whatever they deserve   and that is a bad thing because if you view your opponent as less than human, then you can justify attacking them or their families.   This is not a good thing and doesn't bode well for the discussion of the body politic.

Scandals and the media....

I happen to catch this image on "scandals" surfing around and I would avail myself of it.

As many are aware, Chris Christie is having to deal with "Bridgegate" and the media is howling for blood.  The media is taking extra excitement with this one, I kinda wish they would have been as diligent with the various scandals that are implicated with the Obama Regime besides Bengazi where Obama couldn't be troubled from his sleep because he had a big fundraiser in Vegas that he had to be on top of his game for.  Now I  don't care for Chris Christie at all, I consider him a self serving politician who put his own aspirations of power above the nation.   Y'all remember the "Bromance" photo from Christie and Obama?
Romney was screwed over by Christie at the convention then by the bromance photo-op that made Obama look "presidential" right before the election and heavily swayed undecided voters to vote for Obama despite his poor showing the first 4 years of his presidency.  You notice that there are no conservatives supporting Chris Christie, they haven't forgotten the screwing Romney got.  They consider Chris Christie an egotistical bully who put his own aspirations before country.  Romney had the lukewarm support of the  conservatives at best due to his policies in the past, but we don't like people that screw over others even less.   We conservatives do have principles...unlike democrats that have party before all.

Now I will touch on the media, Despite my hangups with Christie, he gave a press conference and was totally available to the media to ask their questions, and Christie fired people that were involved.  I never seen Obama do the same thing, he dodged the media and they let him, people died with Fast and Furious and Bengazi and a myriad of other scandals and the media just rolled over and went with it.....After all he is THEIR guy and they are totally supportive of him....He was never vetted, unlike in 2008 when Sarah Palin was hounded and pilloried, Obama got a walk.  There are large parts of Obama's life that is shrouded in secrecy and no reporter has bothered trying to penetrate the veil and fog of misdirection that the Obama regime is very skilled at.
The media made a big thing that Sarah Palin didn't have a whole lot of executive experience and somehow her time as a mayor then a governor didn't count as enough experience for VEEP but somehow Obama being a freshman senator and a community organizer was enough experience to be a leader of the free world...The hypocrisy is galling.
And during the 2012 elections, everybody remembers in the second debate that Candy Crowley sold her soul for her hero and endorsed a lie given by Obama despite the evidence to the contrary.  I am ticked at the establishment GOP for picking these liberal elitist as moderators even though past performance will show that they will log softballs at the democratic candidate and fire off heaters at the GOP candidates and the establishment GOP keep doing the same thing and then they wonder how they get killed on elections.    What is the definition of insanity?   Keep doing the same thing and keep hoping the results are different next time.
People like Andrew Breitbart considered the old established media obsolete and ineffective.  when a large part of the population doesn't even bother tuning in to them to get their news because they use the internet that gives them news that hasn't been spun for political agenda and the old school newspapers keep wondering why their subscriptions are falling and quite a few of them have closed down because to be truthful.....We don't trust them.  Our founding fathers considered a unbiased and aggressive media to be one of the best defense of liberty so the populace can make an educated decision.   Sadly our media has fallen far short of expectations and we have several generations of low information voters that get their information from entertainment tonight and other sources that cater to the bread and circuses atmosphere and the worship of entertainers.
And on another note, we have Dianne Feinstein from California that wants to have the "Press credentials and protection given only to "established media and reporters."   She don't like bloggers because bloggers tend to see through the fog and BS spread by the establishment and actually report them.  Remember Fast and Furious was broken by a blogger, when the establishment dead tree media wouldn't even touch it because they believed in his agenda and were willing to let the president walk guns to Mexico so he could use the spike in violence to justify a major gun control agenda.  Then people wonder why the establishment media is dying off because nobody trust them to be objective instead of a party organ for the democratic party.

Our Next VP?

OUR NEXT VICE PRESIDENT???

Well, early one Saturday morning we learned that Congressman Paul Ryan, Republican from Wisconsin , is to be Mitt Romney's pick for the next Vice President of The United States.

What are we to think of this selection? He's not a graduate of Columbia University . He's not a graduate of Harvard. He wasn't selected as the President of the Harvard Law Review. He didn't get a special free quota scholarship ride to any prestigious university and, instead, had to work his way through Miami University of Ohio...the man drove the Oscar Mayer Wiener Truck one summer and waited tables another!

One morning when Paul Ryan was sixteen years old he went in to wake his father and found him dead of a heart attack. He didn't write two books about that experience. Instead, he assumed the role of adult at an early age, never having the luxury to pursue youthful drug use and the art of socialist revolution.

Instead, Paul Ryan and his mother took his grandmother, suffering from Alzheimer's, into the household and served as the primary care provider for his grandma. His grandma wasn't the Vice President of the Bank of Hawaii so she could offer nothing in return, except the element of "need".

Once Paul Ryan got his BA in Economics from Miami University of Ohio he was hired as a staff economist in Wisconsin Senator Kastin's office. The job must have not paid well because young Ryan moonlighted as a waiter and fitness trainer. No one offered him a "token honor" position at the University of Chicago and a $200,000 dollar a year salary.

When a still young Paul Ryan returned to Wisconsin to run for Congress, he didn't demonize his opponent and dig up dirt to shovel against him. He waited until the standing Congressman vacated the office before seeking the office. In Janesville , Wisconsin they don't have a big political machine to promote you, to criminalize your opponent; instead Paul Ryan had to go door to door and sit at kitchen tables and listen to his future constituents.

After getting elected to Congress, Paul Ryan didn't triumphantly march into Washington , buy himself a Georgetown townhouse and proceed over to K Street to rub elbows with lobbyists. He bunked in his Congressional office and used the house gym for showers and a fresh change of clothes.

Paul Ryan then married and took his bride back to Janesville . He lives on the same street he lived on as a kid and shares the neighborhood with eight other members of the Ryan clan. He hunts with the local Janesville hunt club and attends PTA meetings and other civic functions.

For those who can't make those public functions, Paul Ryan bought an old bread truck, converted it into a "mobile constituent office" and drives around to meet with those who need his help and attention.

No, I don't know if we can vote for a guy like this. He doesn't have a regal pedigree; he's Irish! No one awarded him a Nobel Peace Prize two months after getting elected. No one threw flowers or got "chills down their leg" as he took his seat in Congress.

What is most despicable about Paul Ryan is that he has had the nerve to write the House Budget for three years in a row. He is brazen and heartless in advocating in that budget for a $5 trillion dollar reduction in federal spending over the next ten years! The House passed his budget three years in a row and three years in a row the Democratically controlled Senate has let it die in the upper house, without ever proposing a budget of their own. What is wrong with this guy? If Congress were to cut $5 trillion dollars from the budget where would the President get the money to give $500 million dollars to a bankrupt Solyndra? Or $200 million dollars for bankrupt Energy 1? Or $11 billion dollars to illegal aliens filing INIT, non-resident tax returns to claim $11 billion big ones in child tax credits, even for their children living in Mexico ?

I don't know. Paul Ryan seems heartless to me. He keeps wanting to cut government waste, he keeps wanting to put a halt to those big GSA conventions in Vegas and, worse, he keeps trying to make people look at that $16.7 trillion dollar deficit! The guy's no fun at all!

Who wants a numbers cruncher? Who wants someone spoiling the party by showing folks the bill? Nothing will spoil a party quicker than sending the host the bill before the party's over.

Party Hearty folks! At least until November.
