Some Lawyer jokes.......

I had commented in a past post about posting lawyer jokes....so I went around and found some Lawyer jokes online.....

An Observation by Sandra Day O'Connor
"There is no shortage of lawyers in Washington, DC. In fact, there may be more lawyers than people."

The Hundred-Dollar Bill.
Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, and honest lawyer, and an old drunk were walking along when they simultaneously spotted a hundred-dollar bill laying in the street. Who gets it?
The old drunk, of course, the other three are mythological creatures.

Two Kinds of Lawyers
There are two kinds of lawyers: those who know the law and those who know the judge.

Mark Twain notes...
"It is interesting to note that criminals have multiplied of late, and lawyers have also; but I repeat myself."

Bad Reputation
Isn't it a shame how 99% of the lawyers give the whole profession a bad name.

Kliban Lawyer Herds

This is supposedly a TRUE news story. I have my doubts, but you decide....
A lawyer in Charlotte, NC purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against fire among other things. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars and without yet having made even his first premium payment on the policy, the lawyer filed a claim with the insurance company.
In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost "in a series of small fires." The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason: that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued....and won! In delivering the ruling the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer held a policy from the company in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be "unacceptable fire," and was obligated to pay the claim. Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000.00 to the lawyer for his loss of the rare cigars lost in the "fires."
But... After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000.00 fine.

My client is an enigma... I thought I was guilty...

Lawyers and Alligators
Two alligators are sitting on the edge of a swamp. The small one turns to the big one and says, "I don't understand how you can be so much bigger than I am. We're the same age, we were the same size as kids... I just don't get it."
"Well," says the big alligator, "what have you been eating?"
Alligator         "Lawyers, same as you," replies the small alligator.
"Hmm. Well, where do you catch 'em?"
"Down at that law firm on the edge of the swamp."
"Same here. Hmm. How do you catch 'em?"
"Well, I crawl under a BMW and wait for someone to unlock the door. Then I jump out, bite 'em, shake the crap out of 'em, and eat 'em!"
"Ah!" says the big alligator, "I think I see your problem. See, by the time you get done shakin' the crap out of a lawyer, there's nothing left but lips and a briefcase..."

Postal Service Goof
The Postal Service just had to recall their latest new stamp issue. Lawyers were part of the design and people couldn't figure out which side to spit on.

Minister and Lawyer in Heaven
A minister and a lawyer arrived at the pearly gates, Saint Peter greeted both of them and gave them their room assignments.
"Pastor, here are the keys to one of our nicest efficiency units. And for you, sir, the keys to our finest penthouse suite."
"This is unfair!" cried the minister.
"Listen," Saint Peter said, "ministers are a dime a dozen up here, but this is the first lawyer we've ever seen."

Insanity Defense Heaven Getting Crowded
One day, a teacher, a garbage collector, and a lawyer all died and went to heaven.
St. Peter was there, having a bad day because heaven was getting crowded. When they got to the gate, St. Peter informed them that there would be a test to get into Heaven: They each had to answer a single question.
To the teacher, he said, "What was the name of the ship that crashed into an iceberg and sunk with all its passengers?"
The teacher thought for a second, and then replied: "That would have been the Titanic, right?" St. Peter let him through the gate.
Next, St. Peter turned to the garbage man, and figuring that heaven didn’t really need all the stink that this guy would bring in, decided to make the question a little harder. "How many people died on the ship?"
The garbage man guessed 1228, to which St. Peter said, "That happens to be right. Go ahead."
St. Peter then turned to the lawyer. "What were their names?"

Guess Who
A guy walks into a post office one day to see a middle-aged, balding man standing at the counter methodically placing "Love" stamps on bright pink envelopes with hearts all over them. He then takes out a perfume bottle and starts spraying scent all over them.
His curiosity getting the better of him, he goes up to the balding man and asks him what he is doing. The man says "I'm sending out 1,000 Valentine cards signed, 'Guess who?'"
        "But why?" asks the man.
"I'm a divorce lawyer," the man replies.

Professional Fighting
Two physicians boarded a flight out of Seattle. One sat in the window seat, the other sat in the middle seat. Just before takeoff, an attorney got on and took the aisle seat next to the two physicians. The attorney kicked off his shoes, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the physician in the window seat said, "I think I'll get up and get a coke."
"No problem," said the attorney, "I'll get it for you."
While he was gone, one of the physicians picked up the attorney's shoe and put a thumbtack in it. When he returned with the coke, the other physician said, "That looks good, I think I'll have one too."
Again, the attorney obligingly went to fetch it and while he was gone, the other physician picked up the other shoe and put a tack in it. The attorney returned and they all sat back and enjoyed the flight.
As the plane was landing, the attorney slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened.
"How long must this go on?" he asked. "This fighting between our professions? This hatred? This animosity? This putting tacks in shoes and spitting in cokes?"

Cats, lawyers, and billable time You are guilty

Three Wishes
Genie         A man walking on the beach came across an odd-looking bottle. Not being one to ignore tradition, he rubbed it and, much to his surprise, a genie actually appeared. "For releasing me from the bottle, I will grant you three wishes," said the genie.
"But there's a catch," the genie continued. "For each of your wishes, every lawyer in the world will receive double what you asked for."
First, the man wished for a Ferrari. POOF! A Ferrari appeared in front of him. "Now, every lawyer in the world has been given two Ferrari's," said the genie. "What is your next wish?"
"I could really use a million dollars." replied the man, and POOF! One million dollars appeared at his feet. "Now, every lawyer in the world is two million dollars richer," the genie reminded the man, and then asked him for his third wish.
The man thought for a minute and said, "Well, I’ve always wanted to donate a kidney."

The Truck Driver, Priest, and Lawyer
A truck driver used to amuse himself by running over lawyers he saw walking down the side of the road. Every time he saw a lawyer walking along the road, he swerved to hit him and there would be a loud "THUMP". Then he would swerve back on the road.
One day, as the truck driver was driving along the road he saw a priest hitchhiking. He thought he would do a good deed and pulled the truck over.
"Where are you going, Father?" The truck driver asked.
"I'm going to the church 5 miles down the road," replied the priest.
"No problem, Father! I'll give you a lift. Climb in the truck." The happy priest climbed into the passenger seat and the truck driver continued down the road. Suddenly, the truck driver saw a lawyer walking down the road.
Instinctively he swerved to hit him. At the last moment he remembered there was a priest in the truck with him, so he swerved back to the road and narrowly missed the lawyer.
Certain he should've missed the lawyer, the truck driver was very surprised and immediately uneasy when he heard a loud "THUMP". He felt really guilty about his actions and so turned to the priest and said, "I'm really sorry Father. I almost hit that lawyer."
"That's okay," replied the priest. "I got him with the door."

Divorce Lawyers! From the mouth of babes...

Fair and Square
Taking his seat in chambers, the judge faced the opposing lawyers. "I have been presented by both of you with a bribe," the judge began. Both lawyers squirmed uncomfortably. "You, Attorney Leoni, gave me $15,000. And you, Attorney Campos, gave me $10,000."
The judge reached in his pocket a pulled out a check, which he handed to Leoni. "Now, then, I'm returning $5,000, and we are going to decide this case solely on its merits."

Early training to be a lawyer
(cartoon by Jason Love) I'm Innocent!
"How is it that you can't get a lwyer to defend you?" the judge asked the prisoner.
"Well, yer honor, it's like this. As soon as those lawyers found out I didn't steal the money, they wouldn't have anything to do with me."

Lawyer on Vacation
A lawyer was on vacation in a small farming town. While walking through the streets on a quiet Sunday morning, he came upon a large crowd gathered by the side of the road. Going by instinct, the lawyer figured that there was some sort of auto collision. He was eager to get to the injured parties but couldn't get near the car. Being a clever sort, he started shouting loudly, "Let me through! Let me through! I am the son of the victim."
The crowd made way for him. Lying in front of the car was a donkey.

Are blondes smarter than lawyers? You be the judge.
A blonde and lawyer are seated next to each other on a flight from LA to NY. The lawyer asks if she would like to play a fun game. The blonde, very tired, just wants to take a nap, so she politely declines and rolls over toward the window to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists (as lawyers are wont to do) and explains that the game is easy and a lot of fun. He says, "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5.00 and vice versa."
Again, she declines and tries to get some sleep.
The lawyer, now agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5.00, and if I don't know the answer, I'll pay you $500.00."
This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring there will be no end to the torment unless she plays, agrees to the game.
The lawyer asks the first question, "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?"
The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches in her purse, pulls out a $5 bill and hands it to the lawyer.
"Okay," says the lawyer, "your turn."
She asks the lawyer, "What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?"
The lawyer, puzzled, takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references, no answer. He taps into the air phone with his modem and searches the net and Library of Congress, still no answer. Frustrated, he sends e-mail to all his friends and coworkers, all to no avail. After an hour, he wakes the blonde and hands her $500.
The blonde says, "Thank you," and turns back to get some more sleep.
The lawyer, more than a little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, "Well, what's the answer?"
Without a word, the blonde reaches in her purse, hands the lawyer $5.00, and goes back to sleep.

Monday Music The Cult "Fire Women"

I decided to change it up a bit.  I first heard of cult in the desert in 1990, somehow I missed the group and song when they hit the airways in 1989.  I happened to catch it on a bootleg cassette that seemed to permeate the Arabian Peninsula.  This was a good what I call a "jamming song", it is one you can listen to while you are at work, home or driving.  It has become a staple of the rock stations.

"Fire Woman" is a rock song by the band The Cult, written by singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy. It was the first single released from their fourth studio album Sonic Temple, and was subsequently featured on all of The Cult's compilation/greatest hits albums, as well as being a steady fixture of the band's live performances.
It peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and #46 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It reached #1 on the New Zealand Singles Chart and #15 on the UK Singles Chart. Two remixed versions of the song were released as B-sides or promos - the "LA Rock Mix" and the "NYC Rock Mix".
This song has also been used during the closing credits of every Australian broadcast of the Formula One season since 2007.
Crush 40, best known for their contributions to Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video game series, featured a cover of "Fire Woman" as the ninth track of their 2009 compilation album The Best of Crush 40 - Super Sonic Songs, and the tenth in their first live album Live!.

Sonic Temple is the fourth album by The Cult, released in 1989. Continuing in the hard rock direction introduced on their previous album, Sonic Temple features some of the band's most popular songs, including "Fire Woman", "Sun King", "Edie (Ciao Baby)" and "Sweet Soul Sister". Sonic Temple was the last album recorded with longtime bassist Jamie Stewart, who left in 1990, and the first to feature former Hall & Oates and then-current Bryan Adams drummer, Mickey Curry.

The Cult are a British hard rock band formed in 1983. They gained a dedicated following in the United Kingdom in the mid-1980s as a post-punk/gothic rock band with singles such as "She Sells Sanctuary", before breaking mainstream in the United States in the late 1980s as a hard rock band with singles such as "Love Removal Machine" and "Fire Woman". The band fuse a "heavy metal revivalist" sound with the "pseudo-mysticism ... of The Doors [and] the guitar-orchestrations of Led Zeppelin ... while adding touches of post-punk goth rock". Since their earliest form in Bradford during 1981, the band have had various line-ups; the longest-serving members are vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, the band's two songwriters.
After moving to London, the band released the album Love in 1985, which charted at No. 4 in the United Kingdom, and which included singles such as "She Sells Sanctuary" and "Rain". In the late 1980s, the band supplemented their post-punk sound with hard rock in their third album, Electric; the polish on this new sound was facilitated by Rick Rubin, who produced the record. Their fourth album, Sonic Temple, proceeded in a similar vein, and these two LPs enabled them to break into the North American market.
By the early 1990s, the band were fraying behind the scenes, due to alcohol abuse and off-stage tensions, leading to a split-up in 1995. The band reunited in 1999 and recorded the album Beyond Good and Evil, and they reissued all of their albums in Asia and Eastern Europe in 2003 and Japan in 2004. In 2006, the band reformed again to perform a series of worldwide tours. In October 2007, the band released the album Born into This, on the Roadrunner Records label.
In July 2009, Astbury announced that The Cult would not record or produce any more studio albums, focusing on EPs and Digital Releases instead for new material, though he subsequently changed his mind and declared that there would be another album in the near future.Their ninth studio album, entitled Choice of Weapon, was released on 22 May 2012. The Cult are currently working on a tenth studio album, which is due for release in 2015.

Saturday shooting and training...

Well yesterday morning(early) I left my domicile to make the long and arduous journey to the scouting base.  My travels are filled with different kind of  dangers..not potholes like a very famous blogger and writer of awesome novels...(Did that sound good Old NFO?) my dangers are of a different sort.   I have to travel through several townships with very aggressive fee based enforcement services that have an affinity out of towners...but I was successful in avoiding the attention of the nefarious collectors of the travel tax.    How is that for literary license?

Anyway I headed to the scouting base to get there early so we can do set up and figure out duty assignments.   We got to the range, and started setting up.  We had 13 kids here for .22LR, we had 14 kids here for shotgun and some more for the fishing merit badge.   Well it started with the standard safety briefing including the 3 "always" rules.  Then we started the instructions, teaching the kids to shoot properly.

After we finished shooting...All the kids qualified and got their "Rifle Merit Badge", the scopes were used for the kids that were weak on the fundamentals and the scope magnified their flaws and let the kids see what they were doing.  It does help in their shooting.  We were also using "splatter" targets so the kids actually could see how they were doing, that helped also.

After shooting, we introduced the kids to another joy of shooting guns.....cleaning, we cleaned every one of them.   I commented in the past, that for camp rifles, these are actually pretty good rifles for a Boy Scout camp.  the shooting department did well in purchasing these.

After we put the rifles up, we signed off on their merit badge cards, we had a bunch of happy scouts and after they left, we adults pulled out our assorted lead throwers and fired a bit.  I headed to the shotgun range to fire my CZ skeet gun.  I haven't fired it since 1990.  The first time I fired it yesterday, I went back in time and I enjoyed it immensely.  the first time I broke it open after firing it and I extracted the shells( my shotgun don't eject them out like the Western based shotguns.) and the smoke wafted up from the chamber and all was good:).
Mega blog commentator "Mac"shooting one of his Beretta's

We then proceeded to clean the shotguns....Recoil therapy is a good thing
My shotgun on top with Mac's 2 shotguns beneath it.  Mine is the Czech and he has a Beretta and a Ruger.  They all shot good and we had a blast.  A good time was had by all.  Only thing would have been better if Mac had sprung for beer or something afterwards.  I would do this again and yes I did volunteer again.   There are a bunch of good people down there and the camaraderie is a good thing especially in this day and age, to shoot and hang with like minded people is a good thing.

Assorted thoughts and musings....and hippies

I will be having a busy weekend...again.  I will be going to the scouting base to instruct scouts on the functions of a .22 rifle or a shotgun this weekend.  I don't mind...for I am teaching the next generation of shooters so the sport doesn't die out like the liberals want it to.  Speaking of liberals, I had gone with my friends to lunch today, something I normally don't do because of finding a parking spot upon returning to work, and it isn't cheap..spending $8.00 for lunch is pricey to me.  But it was a special occasion, one of my co workers was transferring to a back shop.  Now at work, many people have nicknames...well his is "Chimp, chimp"  because he has a monkey on his back...literally

He would carry this monkey on his back during breaks,    hence the name.  But I digress,  We went to a popular BBQ spot near the airport and where I work at, and the food was good and fast...and while sitting with my co-workers I saw this sign:

the cool thing about having smart phones.....is the camera...and it is a pretty good camera.  I immediately took the picture, I have blogged about hippies in the past.  I still have the cartoon that my Dad had in the early 70's that talked about the hippy lifestyle.  they would protest the "stinking establishment" but get many benefits from the same people that they disparage.
This is what the average mindset of the average liberal...they look at the government as "free money" and have no idea or don't care where the money comes from..they figure it comes the "Stinking rich" people that the government has liberated some of their ill gotten assets.   So they picket and mooch and yet take all the goodies.
I have a serious problem with this, we have a huge underclass that depend on the government for sustenance, and they vote accordingly and the politicians act to keep their jobs and perks as " the ruling class."  Now we are having a debate to raise the debt limit...again because the government doesn't have the spine to make the hard calls for the future of the country.
The government has a spending problem...it can't stop spending money.Instead of cutting spending ..they want to raise the debt limit.  It is like a family of 4 owing $15,000 in credit card debt, instead of cutting the spending to service the debt...they want to raise the credit card limit instead.   This is fiscal foolishness.  they are postponing the day of reckoning and the pain will be worse.

"Dear Leader" wants to raise taxes via executive action....

Do you believe this stuff?  And the gutless spineless GOP in congress will let him do it.  Last time I read the constitution, it is the house that has the purse of the government....It already has come out that the Obama administration gave 3 billion...that is with a B to several insurance companies to help them with the Obamacare cost...and when the house ways and means chairman asked about it...they basically told him to "screw off".  This is a symptoms of the lawlessness of the Obama presidency.  We will be in for a rough 2 years.....

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Monday that President Obama is "very interested" in the idea of raising taxes through unilateral executive action.
"The president certainly has not indicated any reticence in using his executive authority to try and advance an agenda that benefits middle class Americans," Earnest said in response to a question about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) calling on Obama to raise more than $100 billion in taxes through IRS executive action.
"Now I don't want to leave you with the impression that there is some imminent announcement, there is not, at least that I know of," Earnest continued. "But the president has asked his team to examine the array of executive authorities that are available to him to try to make progress on his goals. So I am not in a position to talk in any detail at this point, but the president is very interested in this avenue generally," Earnest finished.
Sanders sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Jack Lew Friday identifying a number of executive actions he believes the IRS could take, without any input from Congress, that would close loopholes currently used by corporations. In the past, IRS lawyers have been hesitant to use executive actions to raise significant amounts of revenue, but that same calculation has change in other federal agencies since Obama became president.
Obama's preferred option would be for Congress to pass a corporate tax hike that would fund liberal infrastructure projects like mass transit. But if Congress fails to do as Obama wishes, just as Congress has failed to pass the immigration reforms that Obama prefers, Obama could take actions unilaterally instead. This past November, for example, Obama gave work permits, Social Security Numbers, and drivers licenses to approximately 4 million illegal immigrants.
Those immigration actions, according to the Congressional Budget Office, will raise federal deficits by $8.8 billion over the next ten years.

Monday Music "What's love got to do with it?" by Tina Turner

I decided to roll with Tina Turner after last weeks Monday Music.  I remembered when Tina exploded on the MTV scene.  I really didn't know at the time that she had a long career before her resurgence in the early 80's.  I saw the first video from her "Better be good to me", and she was smoking especially for an older lady.
Her voice and athleticism on her many video's and concerts that were a staple of the MTV video circuit and playlist.  Then she rolled out other hits and people were saying "Wow".  That girl can rock.   I was very impressed by the talent, then she was in "Mad Max", one of my favorite movies franchises.   Tina has endured to be come a legend.

"What's Love Got to Do with It" is a song recorded by the American singer Tina Turner, released in 1984. It was taken from her fifth solo album, Private Dancer and became Turner's most successful single.
Although Turner had already scored a UK Top 10 and U.S. Top 30 hit some months earlier with her rendition of "Let's Stay Together", "What's Love Got To Do With It" gave Turner her first and only U.S. number one. The song ranked #309 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". It also ranked #38 on Songs of the Century. It was the 17th best-selling single of 1984 in the United Kingdom. In 1993, the song's title was used as the title for film about Turner's life.
In 2012, "What's Love Got to Do with It" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame giving Turner her 3rd Grammy Hall of Fame Award and her 11th Grammy Award.

This song was written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, who originally offered it to Cliff Richard, but it was rejected. It was then given to Phyllis Hyman, who wanted to do the song, but Arista Records head Clive Davis wouldn't allow her. The song then was offered to Donna Summer, who has stated that she sat with it for a couple of years but never recorded it.   Some months before Turner recorded the song, the British pop group Bucks Fizz were offered it. Member Jay Aston requested to sing lead on the track after hearing the demo, but was told by the producer that it was unsuitable for a female lead vocal. The group went on to record it in February 1984, but sung by male groupmember Bobby G Aston recalls that the demo was very similar to the eventual Tina Turner version, but their finished version was in a very different style It was intended for possible inclusion on their next album I Hear Talk but was shelved when Turner released her version first. The Bucks Fizz version went unreleased until it was included on a re-issue of their Are You Ready album in 2000. The Original Bucks Fizz went on to include the song in their reunion concert tour in October 2009.

Up until the release of "What's Love Got to Do with It", Tina Turner had not had a U.S. top ten single since the early 1970s. The single went to #1on the US Billboard Hot 100 and remained there for three weeks, becoming Turner's first and only solo number-one hit in America. It peaked at #3 on the UK singles chart, which is also her highest singles chart peak there. Turner was 44 when the song hit number one, at the time making her the oldest solo female artist to place a number-one single on the US Hot 100 (Grace Slick, who is older than Turner by about one month, hit #1 in 1985 and 1987 with "We Built This City" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now", respectively, although she was not a solo act on those recordings but a member of Starship). In 1999, Cher at age 53 became the oldest solo female to have a US number-one hit when "Believe" hit the top position in America.

The music video features Turner walking down the street engaging with the public, intercut with scenes where she is singing directly to camera. The video was shot in New York City during the spring of 1984. The music video also features Sleepaway Camp 2's Pamela Springsteen, Bruce Springsteen's sister, as a street dancer. The video was directed by Mark Robinson.

The song received three awards at the 1985 Grammy Awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Turner's live performance of the song at the Grammy show was released on the 1994 album Grammy's Greatest Moments Volume I.
The music video for the song claimed a prize at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1985 for "Best Female Video".
In 2012, "What's Love Got to Do with It" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame

Net Neutrality......"Gotta pass it before we know what is in it......"

Well the rat bastards did it....they passed a "net neutrality" without knowing what it is......Remember Obungler care......Same thing.   How much longer before us conservative bloggers start vanishing, losing our connection, or we can't find information anymore that is critical of the "Dear Leader" and his group of minions, crooks and hustlers.

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Internet service providers like Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile now must act in the “public interest” when providing a mobile connection to your home or phone, under rules approved Thursday by a divided Federal Communications Commission.
The plan, which puts the Internet in the same regulatory camp as the telephone and bans business practices that are “unjust or unreasonable,” represents the biggest regulatory shakeup to the industry in almost two decades. The goal is to prevent providers from slowing or blocking web traffic, or creating paid fast lanes on the Internet, said FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler.
The 3-2 vote was expected to trigger industry lawsuits that could take several years to resolve. Still, consumer advocates cheered the regulations as a victory for smaller Internet-based companies which feared they would have to pay “tolls” to move their content.
Verizon said in a statement — which was originally released in Morse code — that the FCC’s move imposes 1930s rules on the Internet.
“The FCC’s move is especially regrettable because it is wholly unnecessary. The FCC had targeted tools available to preserve an open Internet, but instead chose to use this order as an excuse to adopt 300-plus pages of broad and open-ended regulatory arcana that will have unintended negative consequences for consumers and various parts of the Internet ecosystem for years to come,” Verizon said.
Net neutrality is the idea that websites or videos load at about the same speed. That means you won’t be more inclined to watch a particular show on Amazon Prime instead of on Netflix because Amazon has struck a deal with your service provider to load its data faster.
Opponents, including many congressional Republicans, said the FCC plan constitutes dangerous government overreach that would eventually drive up consumer costs and discourage industry investment.
House Speaker John Boehner denounced the vote in a statement.
“Overzealous government bureaucrats should keep their hands off the Internet. Today, three appointed by President Obama approved a secret plan to put the federal government in control of the Internet,” Boehner said in a statement. “The text of the proposal is being kept hidden from the American people and their elected representatives in Congress, and the FCC’s chairman has so far refused to testify about it. This total lack of transparency and accountability does not bode well for the future of a free and open Internet, not to mention the millions of Americans who use it every day.”

Republican FCC Commissioners Mike O’Rielly and Ajit Pai, who voted against the plan, alleged that President Barack Obama unfairly used his influence to push through the regulations, calling the plan a “half-baked, illogical, internally inconsistent and indefensible document.”
Michael Powell, a former Republican FCC chairman who now runs the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, warned that consumers would almost immediately “bear the burden of new taxes and increased costs, and they will likely wait longer for faster and more innovative networks since investment will slow in the face of bureaucratic oversight.”
Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, said he would pursue industry-friendly legislation, although it was unlikely that Obama would sign such a bill. The FCC’s five commissioners are expected to testify before a Senate panel March 18.
“One way or another, I am committed to moving a legislative solution, preferably bipartisan, to stop monopoly-era phone regulations that harm Internet consumers and innovation,” Thune said in a statement this week.
President Barack Obama personally tweeted from the White House account that millions of Americans made their voices heard on the FCC vote

Range time...:)

Well on Monday, my son was out of school and he had a friend spend the night, the spousal unit mentioned..."You know that you promised to take the kids to the range..."    I gave her the patented look....you know the one that says
   Yeah..that is the one...

Well we went to the range near my house and we only brought the .22LR rifles....The EBR stayed home this time, we just shot the regular .22's
.
My sons .22 semi Marlin and my Remington Nylon

And the bolt action Marlin.

The kids had a good time shooting and they took it seriously the marksmanship.   Both kids enjoyed it and I was there having fun...and supplying the ammo....

Practicing the fundamentals
It was a good day at the range...then we headed to the next town over and
ate gyro's and other fun food,    then we went home and I crashed on the recliner, the cold I was arguing with hit full bore and all I wanted to do was sleep.  the boys played computer games and they were happy also.
