ID4

No..this ain't about the movie(good one that it was).We as a nation was around for 236 years today.  Most people celebrate with BBQ's displaying the flag and hanging with family and friends.  I wonder if people today would do what is necessary for freedom, when a society is content, there is far less chance of protest, or possible revolution and other actions that the people in charge don't like.
Now we have over 50% of the American public getting some kind of "public assistance"  or benefits from the government.  I keep hearing those crappy commercials about "SNAP" the Supplimental  Nutrition Assistance Program trying to get more people to sign up to be dependant on government.  When you depend on government, you will do what is necessary to keep the money coming in, you will vote for who will keep promising you money from the government, to the extent of surrendering your freedoms.  There is a quote that is attributed to Ben Franklin  " Those that trade freedom for security will not have either"
