Why the Masked and Unmasked have distain for each other

I snagged this from "Townhall", it was very good.  I have found myself pushing back against the maskers and the "Fear Porn" that they are pushing.  I am soo tired of the fearmongering that I have gotten quite "Snippy" with some of the people because they have bought into the media narrative that "We all gonna die" unless we follow the draconian and confusing mandates from the CDC and our "Betters" from Washington and Hollywood.

Among the many unbridgeable divides between Americans is a completely antithetical view of mask wearing. On one side are those who wear masks almost everywhere outside their homes and who demand that others do so, including young children in class and on outdoor playgrounds, and 2-year-olds on airplanes.

On the other side are those who only wear a mask where they are punished for not doing so (most obviously, airplanes). They regard masks as essentially pacifiers for adults.

Generally speaking, these two groups have disdain for each other.

Why the pro-mask half of America holds the anti-mask half in contempt needs little explanation. They believe anti-mask Americans are putting others in grave danger. Pro-maskers believe that even children who do not wear masks put their own lives and the lives of other children and teachers at risk.

Consequently, pro-mask Americans regard those who do not wear masks, let alone those who actively oppose mask-wearing, as selfish, anti-science potential killers.

What may be less obvious is why anti-maskers hold pro-maskers in equal contempt. So, this needs explaining in greater detail. After all, anti-maskers don't believe that maskers are putting people in hospitals.

First, anti-maskers regard the charges made against them by pro-maskers as baseless. Therefore, as odd as it sounds, anti-maskers have contempt for the pro-maskers' contempt. To wrongly charge people with causing mass death is, to understate the case, immoral. And if this charge is demonstrably wrong, the people who level it are the ones who are anti-science.

Since each side regards the other as anti-science, what is the science?

Nearly all public health authorities claim that masks are absolutely necessary to save lives. But they have virtually no science to back up the claim.

There is, however, abundant scientific evidence that masks are worthless vis-a-vis viruses and do great harm to society.

Here is a fraction of the examples I could give:

In February 2020, U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams tweeted: "Seriously people -- STOP BUYING MASKS! They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus."

In March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) Health Emergencies Program executive director, Mike Ryan, wrote: "There is no specific evidence to suggest that the wearing of masks by the mass population has any particular benefit."

A 2010 study in France led by Laetitia Canini (Ph.D. in epidemiology and biostatistics) concluded: "We did not identify any trend in the results suggesting effectiveness of facemasks."

A 2009 study of Japanese health workers led by epidemiologist Dr. Joshua L. Jacobs, of the University of Hawaii Medical School, concluded: "Face mask use in health care workers has not been demonstrated to provide benefit in terms of cold symptoms or getting colds."

As far as I could determine, the only randomized controlled trial (RCT) to test the effectiveness of masks against COVID-19 was a 2020 study led by Henning Bundgaard of the Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark. Published in the March 2021 issue of Annals of Internal Medicine, it found that 1.8% of those in the masked group and 2.1% of those in the control group became infected with COVID-19 within a month. The 0.3-point difference is statistically insignificant.

MD and epidemiologist Vinay Prasad of the University of California at San Francisco buried the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's child masking recommendation in one sentence: "The CDC cannot 'follow the science' because there is no relevant science."

And what about surgical masks? They are not designed to prevent the spread of viruses, but to prevent medical personnel from accidentally infecting the open wounds of patients on the operating table, and to prevent body fluids from patients spraying up into the mouths and noses of the surgical team. Dr. Colin Axon, a COVID-19 advisor to the British government, made this point clear: Medics were "unable to comprehend" the miniscule elements involved: "A Covid viral particle is around 100 nanometers, material gaps in blue surgical masks are up to 1,000 times that size, cloth mask gaps can be 5,000 times the size."

While most studies conclude that masks are essentially useless against COVID-19, not all do. Probably the most widely cited study on behalf of mask efficacy was published in the British Medical Journal in October 2021. But it's hardly a ringing endorsement. As the authors note, "The quality of current evidence would be graded as low or very low, as it consists of observational studies with poor methods."

If the only problem with the pro-mask position were that it negates science, it would only be harmless nonsense.

But while it is nonsense, it is not harmless.

Take children, for example. Only time will tell how affected children have been by not seeing other children's faces and seeing few adult faces for two years. In July 2021, an article published under the auspices of the USC Center for Health Policy and Economics addressed this issue:

"Masking is a psychological stressor for children and disrupts learning. Covering the lower half of the face of both teacher and pupil reduces the ability to communicate. In particular, children lose the experience of mimicking expressions, an essential tool of nonverbal communication. Positive emotions such as laughing and smiling become less recognizable, and negative emotions get amplified. Bonding between teachers and students takes a hit. Overall, it is likely that masking exacerbates the chances that a child will experience anxiety and depression, which are already at pandemic levels themselves."

Yet, just this past week, the enemies of children known as teachers unions -- in this case, the one that controls the Los Angeles Unified School District -- issued a directive that all children must wear N95-type masks all day, including during outdoor recess, with a wire over their noses to keep the masks at maximum tightness.

The social damage of masks is not confined to children. All human interaction has suffered as a result of two years of masking. For example, people are less kind when they are anonymous.

All of that harm is more than sufficient to justify contempt for mask advocacy.

Now let's add to that the irrationality of the pro-mask position.

Health authorities demand that people wear masks when entering restaurants, when seated on an airplane, and when walking through airports. However, an exception is made for eating and drinking. So, then, one regularly sees people on airplanes seated less than 12 inches from one another eating without masks on; people seated at airport cafes and restaurants with no masks on; and people spending about an hour eating in restaurants with no masks on.

And while on the subject of airplanes: Do pro-mask advocates think that pilots keep their masks on while flying? Do they even want them to? Does any rational person want their pilots to breathe their own carbon dioxide for six hours while flying across the country?

The utter irrationality of mask advocacy is the single greatest reason the anti-mask people hold mask advocates in contempt. How else should one regard adults who believe that two-year-olds on airplanes and five-year-olds in schools should be masked?

Watching half of our fellow Americans accept and engage in such irrational behavior (not to mention sometimes hysterically enforce it, as myriad social media videos attest) not only depresses the rest of us; it frightens us. That more than half of our country willingly obeys completely irrational orders raises the question: What irrational orders from the state would they not obey?

The Airports and Airlines quickly goto"Mask Optional"after courtruling

People are soo tired of "Mask Mandates", I heard of cheering on airplanes when pilots announced the rulings while in the middle of the flights.  The CDC is pushing for the DOJ to reinstate the mandates, I guess we are not "worthy enough" yet.

Reagan National Airport
s

The U.S. airline industry has quickly adapted to a recent decision by a Federal judge in Florida determining the mask mandate exceeds the authority of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In a decision handed down on April 18, judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle concluded the mandate violated the Administrative Procedure Act. The court remanded the mask mandate to the CDC for further proceeding.

Initially, there was confusion whether the judge’s ruling would take immediate effect, but the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) quickly stated it would no longer enforce mask use on public transpiration and at transportation hubs.

After TSA announced its decision, U.S. airlines followed suit and stated that masks for passengers and employees would be optional going forward. Many airports have also dropped masks requirements, but not all have opted to rescind the mandate.

Both the TSA and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki noted that the CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings.

Psaki called the court’s decision disappointing and noted the Justice Department (DOJ) would make any determinations about litigation. So far, the DOJ has not responded to the judge’s decision.

Prior to Judge Mizelle’s decision, the administration opted to extend the mask mandate from April 18 to May 3.

Pithy Rant and opinions....

Well August is almost here and School is fixing to start....well almost...

But apparently the CDC is taking their cues from the Teachers unions that happen to love the idea of Virtual or even better "No School" where the kids are promoted to the next grade and they are not taught anything and the members are paid to do nothing.  The Teachers love this, they get a check and don't work...and at the same time they lecture us about "Staying home, and saving lives" and acting all sanctimonious about it as they try to look down at all us "Mundanes" that actually have to work and make a living while they stay home.

And speaking of the CDC, they can't seem to get their story straight....first they say no mask....then we need mask....then we don't need mask if you are vaccinated ...but now they are saying even with the vaccine, you have to wear a mask.  They are having a credibility issue, and many people are having severe doubts about it.  If they were honest about everything from the word "GO" instead of going political to help the democrats win an election and hide the source of the Virus, they sowed doubts on the credibility of their agency, I know that I don't trust them or any government agency...I believe that they don't have my best interest at heart, only their own and that is counter to mine and any other freedom loving American.  But the problem is that many Americans are in a rush to embrace the chains and the moving goalpost of the nanny state.  It seems that our "Betters" have a credibility problem, they keep pushing us to get vaccinated and wear a mask and yet the rules are different for them, and they wonder why quite a few people are giving them the "Hairy" eyeball, myself included.

Meanwhile for the college students, it is a little different this year, thanks to the "Woke" movement, and people are wondering why they are sending their kids and many kids are wondering why they have to go to college to deal with all the stupidity.  My son for instance refused to go to college for several reasons, one was he didn't want to deal with the indoctrination, and the questionable education product and the debt, instead he is going to a Technical school to get his welding certifications and a technical degree.

Meanwhile the speaker of the house convened her kangaroo court to hear testimony on the January coup, er Insurrection, er the worst thing that has happened to American democracy since the British invaded the capital in 1814 and torched it.

I saw weeping capital police officers and other drama students milking their 15 minutes of fame, and this is the sole purpose is to keep the January 6 protest on the front burner until the midterm to hurt the GOP and they will try to impeach President Trump for the 3rd time to try to kill any chance of him running in 2024.  I believe that the hearing is to provide cover for the donks and Pelosi denying President Trump asking for support from the Guard, they knew that there were going to be an incident and they wanted to make sure that President Trump got blamed for it.    Meanwhile the BLM(Burn, Loot and Murder) and Antifa and their *Mostly Peaceful Protest* (TM) that destroyed billions of dollars of property, killed a lot of people and injured a lot of people including a bunch of cops are giving a pass by the media and the FBI and other government agencies.   Funny how that works.

Meanwhile many Americans are skeptical of the Vaccine, myself included.  If the CDC hasn't had such a credibility issue and changing their story depending on the political winds more people would be more accepting of the vaccine.  I flat out don't trust the CDC and the "JAB", the 2nd dose killed my dad and I also have had covid so I will not take the vaccine and having the government wanting to go door to door to enforce it really gives me the "Willies" as they say,

Meanwhile President* Usurper is talking about bringing back mask mandates and forced vaccination to government agencies. but somehow the illegals that are flooding across the border are giving a pass and they are dumping them in red states at the airports, and bus stations and hotels with the catholic charities and other NGO's moving them around and then they wonder why there is a spike in covid cases in the Southeast....again.....Funny how that works.  I guess if you are a potential voting bloc for the donks, all kind of things are possible.....except screenings.

Gov.t Study Finds "No Evidence" Face Mask Protected People from Covid-19

I saw this and clipped it,  I already knew this.  It even said it on the box of facemask I got from work.  But the "Army of Covid-Karens" were the Harpies of the Pandemic and the Mask was the symbol of virtuousness during the pandemic.  I had total disdain for the mask, I absolutely refused to wear the mask unless I had to.

Govt Study Finds No Evidence Face Masks Protected People against COVID

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has found “no evidence” which proves medical-grade face masks protected vulnerable people from COVID-19, according to a new study.

The study investigated if masks such as N95, KN95, and FFP2 helped prevent vulnerable people from contracting the virus.

“The review did not identify any studies for inclusion, and so could provide no evidence to answer the research question,” the authors concluded.

“No studies matching the inclusion criteria were found, so no evidence could be presented,” they adding, admitting the study conclusively proved face masks don’t work against COVID.

So after years of being forced to wear face masks and being unable to breathe at times barely, was this all for nothing?

Professor of evidence-based medicine at the University of Oxford, Prof Carl Heneghan, said there were virtually no high-quality trials that showed face mask worked.

“I do not understand why there’s been a lack of will to do high-quality trials in this area,” he told the Telegraph.

“We have completely failed to address this issue, and I actually consider that to be an issue that the [Covid] inquiry needs to look at.”

“If there’s another pandemic around the corner, we still haven’t addressed any of these issues. We’ve not learned anything,” Prof Heneghan added.

In the absence of any conclusive evidence that face masks worked, the media and the government worked overtime in the early days of the pandemic to convince people of their effectiveness.

The government propaganda was so finely tuned it resulted in an army of Karens policing people into submission.

Those who dared to question the effectiveness of face masks were called anti-vaxxers, far-right neo-nazis, vilified across social media, and sometimes attacked physically public.

The UK government later admitted that face masks were a symbolic tool to remind people they were in a pandemic.

It did its job at the expense of the economy, common sense, and human sanity.

Even as far back as 2020, the publication of the ‘Danmask-19 trial’ was conducted in Denmark to determine if maks worked.

The study found statistical evidence which suggested maks do not prevent the contraction of Covid-19.

As The Spectator reported at the time:

But overall, there is a troubling lack of robust evidence on face masks and Covid-19. There have only been three community trials during the current pandemic comparing the use of masks with various alternatives – one in Guinea-Bissau, one in India and this latest trial in Denmark. The low number of studies into the effect different interventions have on the spread of Covid-19 – a subject of global importance – suggests there is a total lack of interest from governments in pursuing evidence-based medicine. And this starkly contrasts with the huge sums they have spent on ‘boutique relations’ consultants advising the government.

Some more musings I suppose.....

Well like a bad penny, they are talking about "Masking" again....Especially in the blue states and the blue cities.  In the red states Like Florida, Texas you have had the governors sign "No Mask Mandates" to keep the power hungry donks in the blue cities and in the school districts from pushing mask mandates because of this new "Delta" variant that the media is scaring the crap out of people on and even the Xiden white house has asked the media to "tone it down" because of the fear.  it was useful to have the lapdog media use the pandemic to scare the crap out of people when President Trump was in the White House in an attempt to punish him, but now that Xiden is in there, now they want to "calm it down?....Wow that is rich.

I honestly believe that the government and the CDC are using the "Its for the Kids" as an excuse for the mask, where it is a reason to force more controls on people, and all it does is hurt the kids by this virtual crap, kids are social by nature, you have had more kids commit suicide the past 18 months than I am aware of in the past 30 years because of this crap, the government need to be busybodies and control people have damaged an entire generation of kids and they have promoted kids to another grade who are not prepared for it and they will be going up against kids from Russia, China and India who will clean their clock in the world stage because they are not dealing with the same crap we are dealing with.

Meanwhile using the pandemic and the now "Deadly Delta Variant" and I have heard of a new "Lamda Variant" peeking around the corner, the government, especially the donks are using the pandemic to get in touch with their inner tyrant for more government control on the population, and the sad thing is that a huge swath of the population welcome the government overlord as "their Savior", no matter the lies, the half-truth and the deceptions, they are like the battered spouses, always taking them back, partially because they get their monthly subsistence checks from the government and others because they have been conditioned ideologically since school to accept the government as their "savior".

This is part of the left's march through our institutions since the 1960's and they, besides infecting our education system, they have infected our court systems, our federal law-enforcement agencies, and most other parts of the federal government.  All believing in the tenets of modern socialism, and that the government knows best and that is anathema to a free people, I am not sure what it is going to take to correct this, it took many years for the rot to spread and its going to take many years for the rot to reverse if it can be reversed.

There is noise about putting people that are not vaccinated on the "NO FLY LIST"  Senator Rand Paul went ballistic on that one, saying that equating people that didn't want to get a "Jab" with terrorist was a huge stretch and a big civil rights violations and New York City is requiring you to have your "Vaccine card" to go out in Public, something...Something "Yours Papers Please" in a German accent comes to mind somewhere in the past.  I recall version 1.0 of a fascist dictatorship and it did cause quite a lot of grief and I have no intent on being quiet if version 2.0 starts the installation process here, we have a difference that the Germans didn't have in 1935 when the Nurenburg Laws took effect.

People today are saying "We would never do what the Nazi's did...They were evil"  Well look at history, you take one of the most advanced countries in the world at the time, culturally, technology, music, medicine, and yet they did one of the most evil the modern world has seen with the exception of Lenin, Stalin and the uber evil of communism.

We are having the pandemic giving busybodies the opportunities to let their inner Stalin flow and their innate desire to tell their fellow Americans how to live, and they are using the levers of government to do so, and many Americans are now of the mindset "Not no but Hell No" and the battle lines are being drawn, and we are dealing with the uber sanctimoniousness of the left because they are standing on the holy of holies...."Saving lives", Funny how they are using that argument "Wear a Mask, to save others" and the ever popular "It isn't your choice when your presence can infect me".  Like that paper face diaper can stop a virus...Yeah   Yank on the other one....it has bells on it.

One effect of the continuing pandemic is that they continued the moratorium on evictions, despite the Supreme court saying "You can't do that".  If this doesn't  proves that we are a banana republic, than nothing does.  It means that the "Rule Of Law" doesn't mean anything if it is a inconvenience to the people in the government.  This is deadly to the republic if the supreme court allows the defiance to stand, than it means that there isn't 3 equal tiers of government anymore, no checks and balances anymore, just the rule of the strongman or in the case of the Xiden administration, the "Rule by committee".

This is another feature of the moratorium, the landlords still are expected to pay all the bills of the property from any mortgages, taxes, ete, ete and many landlords are middle class, not rich, they own 2 or 3 houses or properties and manage it themselves.  The Government excuses the tenants not the landlords from their fiscal responsibilities.  And many landlords will lose their properties to the banks who will sell it to Blackstone and other huge funds that have been buying properties and inflating the housing market.  I believe this is a feature not a bug, this is designed to break the middle class and put many of the Middle class into the class of the poor and destitute.  They have to steal our wealth, our property, our 401K's and outlaw our privately owned guns, remember we are the modern day Kulaks and the elitist and their leftist allies have to break us like Stalin did to to the Kulaks of old and I mentioned it in a prior blog post a while back.

Another problem that the donks ran into with their "Summer of Love" A.K.A the "Mostly Peaceful Protest(TM) where many cities rioted thanks to agitators like BLM(Burn Loot and Murder), and Antifa ran rampant and the democratic mayors and city councils told the cops to stand down or restricted them and allowed the assorted thugs free reign through the cities, and how they have a huge crime problem, they have cities with huge robberies, murders and other crimes that have risen double digit the past 2 years and business will not go downtown to spend money on expensive real estate when they discovered during the pandemic that they can run either from home, or from satellite locations in the suburbs where it is a lot cheaper to operate and a far less tax burden to the company and they don't have to worry about their employee's safety or their business getting burned out because some group is throwing a temper tantrum downtown and the political power structure allows them free reign to destroy and many businesses discover that their insurances don't cover riots and civil disturbances.  Meanwhile the Mayors and City councils have been treating the cops like crap and there have been record retirements from the forces of major cities and no replacements and others just leaving and getting jobs in smaller cities or in "Red" towns where the pay is less, but the people respect them and they don't have to worry about getting thrown under the bus.

I got this from the Movie "Serenity", but the premise is the same, my friends and I we will not run, we will not cower, we will not go quietly into that long night, we will make it as expensive as possible for them if they try to get stupid and really push the issue, I do know that my "grace" is about exhausted as is many others and we are just tired of the constant pushing and there is no more "give" left in us.

Moderna Post a 1.2 Billion Loss this quarter.

I have made my feelings known about the "Vaccine" and "The Jab".  I see this as kinda poetic as moderna is starting to lose money on their cash cow especially since the Feds ain't paying for it anymore because "Covid" is over.   Well until the new strain is used to give the donks political cover as they try to push mask mandates and vaxx requirements to scare the crap out of people again, it is an election year you know, great time for absentee ballots you know...a few totes under the table you know after the polls close you know..  I already see people wearing mask again, to me it is a virtue signal thing, it is how hard core donks identify themselves from everybody else, kinda like dogs sniffing each others butts.  "Hey I am one of the smart ones, look at me and my kind, we are virtuous and thinking about other people by wearing this mask".   *snort* F*cking sheep, they buy into all the B.S and swallow it hook, line and sinker, and according to the article, Moderna has a new version in time for the fall vaccine cycle...Halleluiah We are saved again!   Yes this is my sarcasm coming through.

I will post more when I can.

I shamelessly clipped this off "Epoch Times"

Moderna posted a $1.2 billion loss in the first quarter of 2024, with the drugmaker blaming crashing sales of its COVID-19 vaccine.

The company notched $167 million in first-quarter sales of its COVID-19 vaccine (called Spikevax), according to a May 2 earnings report. That’s a 94 percent drop from the $2.8 billion in the prior quarter.

“This decline aligns with the anticipated transition to a seasonal COVID-19 vaccine market,” Moderna said in the report. “In the prior year period, the company recognized revenue primarily from delivered doses deferred from 2022.”

The company said that in the United States, where Moderna sold $100 million worth of its COVID-19 vaccine doses in the first quarter, it hopes to see higher vaccine uptake as it works to rush its newest 2024–2025 Spikevax formula to coincide with the distribution of flu shots during the fall influenza season.

“In the U.S., the company is reaffirming its 2024 product sales outlook as it enters the second year of the commercial endemic COVID market,” Moderna said. “Moderna’s focus is on working with public health officials, health care providers and pharmacies to increase vaccination coverage rates to reduce the substantial burden of COVID-19.”

The company also issued a $4 billion sales forecast for 2024, the lowest figure for annual revenue since U.S. health authorities granted emergency authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine in late 2020.

More Vaccines in the Pipeline

Moderna touted the results of Phase 3 clinical trials of its “next-generation” COVID-19 vaccine (mRNA-1283), boasting higher immune response against both new and original virus strains than its original formula.

Clinical trials are also underway on a combination one-shot vaccine against the flu and COVID-19, which Moderna has dubbed mRNA-1083. Data from the study are expected at some point in 2024.

The drugmaker also reaffirmed that it expects to receive approval from regulators for its respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine in time for it to be included in this fall’s vaccine campaign in the United States.

The company has expressed hope that its experimental shots—including for RSV, flu, and cancer—will compensate for dwindling COVID-19 vaccine revenue.

Falling demand for COVID-19 vaccines was also why Moderna competitor Pfizer’s first-quarter results saw a significant decline.

Falling Vaccine Sales Tank Pfizer Results

Pfizer’s profit plunged by more than 40 percent year over year in the first quarter, with the drugmaker blaming falling sales of its COVID-19 vaccine and antiviral treatment for the income crunch.

In its first-quarter 2024 results, released on May 1, Pfizer reported total revenues of $14.9 billion, representing a revenue decline of 20 percent year over year from the $18.5 billion notched in the same quarter last year.

Profit fell by 44 percent—from $5.5 billion a year ago to $3.1 billion in the first quarter of this year.

The company blamed falling sales of its COVID-19 vaccine (Comirnaty) and its COVID-19 antiviral treatment (Paxlovid), which saw sharp declines in the United States and the rest of the world, for the revenue decline.

COVID-19 vaccine sales plunged by 64 percent in the United States. In other countries, it fell by 91 percent, for a total worldwide sales slump of 88 percent.

Paxlovid fared better in the United States, with sales declining by just 8 percent in the first quarter, year over year. It performed poorly in other countries (down by 89 percent), for a total worldwide sales decline of 50 percent.

Excluding the COVID-19 vaccine and antiviral treatment, first-quarter revenues grew by 11 percent operationally, Pfizer said.

Vaccine Controversy

While health officials maintain that Moderna’s and Pfizer’s mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are “safe and effective,” there are lingering doubts given that a significant number of vaccinated people have reported various adverse reactions.

The most common COVID-19 vaccine adverse events are those that affect the body generally, with fever, fatigue, and overall discomfort being the top three, according to the U.S. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. But there are others.

For instance, heart muscle inflammation (myocarditis) and inflammation of the lining outside the heart (pericarditis) have both officially been acknowledged by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as known side effects of Moderna’s and Pfizer’s mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

Nervous system disorders have also been reported, with such disorders being the third most common in the Pfizer trials, coming after general and muscle-related adverse events.

Clinicians treating various persistent vaccine adverse reactions have said that the leading cause of such injuries is the COVID-19 spike protein.

Spike proteins exist on the surface of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that invades cells and causes disease. The COVID-19 mRNA vaccines (such as Moderna’s and Pfizer’s) also induce the body to make spike proteins.

The cells that are exposed to the mRNA produce spike proteins and then display these proteins on their surfaces. The immune system then attacks these spike proteins, forming an immunity against them.

According to earlier reporting from The Epoch Times, clinicians have put forward six pathways through which the spike proteins can cause damage, including immune dysregulation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and blood clotting and vascular damage. Multiple studies have shown that spike proteins directly bind to clotting factors in the blood, promoting both large and microclot formations.

Spike protein also damages blood vessels and is prone to forming blood clots, which can block coronary arteries, leading to heart attacks.

Recent reporting from The Epoch Times indicates that CDC officials found evidence suggesting that both Pfizer’s and Moderna’s mRNA vaccines caused multiple deaths—before claiming that there was no evidence linking the vaccines to any deaths.

The Fabulous 45 and Vietnam

I shamelessly cribbed this from the American Rifleman magazine.  This caught my interest besides it talking about the mighty 45 and the Tunnel rats of Cu-Chi in Vietnam.  My Dad did as his duties as El-Cid in 25th Infantry Div go into the tunnels in 1968.  He told me one of their tactics before climbing into the tunnel was to throw CS grenades into the tunnel hoping to disorientate "Sir Charles" to allow us to slip into the tunnel before they realized that we were in there.  Another purpose of the CS was to see of any of the CS fumes would waif our from other openings in the area so they would put people on the openings, to see if someone jumped out or they would throw more CS into those openings to further disorient "Sir Charles" because the VC didn't have gas mask and the tear gas would cause major discomfort for the VC and allow the soldiers to close in.  Climbing in the tunnels was risky because the VC would booby-trap the tunnels, my Blogpost I had posted several weeks described some of the booby-traps that the VC would use to "discourage" snoopers.

I cribbed the following article from "American Rifleman"

During the close-quarters situations that most infantry engagements occurred in during the Vietnam War, the pistol often took on a more important role than it was intended to fill. Notably, the venerable M1911 pistol became the principal tool of the “Tunnel Rats”. They were the brave men who crawled into enemy bunkers, underground fortifications and tunnel complexes often armed with nothing more than a pistol and a flashlight.

Underground, the big .45 ACP handgun offered firepower that could quickly decide the outcome of a fight in ultra-close quarters. The Tunnel Rats learned to live with the drawbacks of the M1911's blinding flash and deafening muzzle blast within the tight confines of a tunnel.

Combat narratives from veterans who engaged Viet Cong or North Vietnamese Army units at close range during the war are filled with stories of pistols used effectively. Handguns became a necessary fall-back option when rifles or machine guns jammed or ran out of ammunition. In such desperate engagements, the stopping power of the .45 ACP round was particularly praised as a rapid and reliable solution.

Throughout the long war in Vietnam, a number of soldiers and Marines carried civilian-made sidearms. This was largely in the early years of the war, when regulations regarding personal defense weapons were more relaxed. These weapons were either brought from home or sent to Vietnam by anxious family and friends.

Interestingly, there was a particular uptick in the appearance of civilian semi-automatic pistols and revolvers as rumors of malfunctions spread during the force-wide fielding of the M16 rifle. Just like in World War I, World War II and the Korean War, there were never enough M1911 pistols to meet the demand.  American troops believed in, trusted and faithfully carried it on their hip or shoulder whenever and wherever they went into combat.

I was honored when Dale Dye agreed to write descriptions for the images I collected of weapons in action during the Vietnam War.  He is one of America’s finest military historians and a highly qualified storyteller, particularly when it comes to the small arms used in Vietnam. He is also a veteran of the conflict.

Dale Dye served for three tours of duty, with 31 combat actions and receipt of the Bronze Star (with combat “V”) as well as the Purple Heart. Captain Dye has shot, or was shot at with, almost every small arm used in the Vietnam War. He knows all too well about the weapons shown here.
