New Hitler Parody video....

I have been feeling under the weather lately, I actually went home from work early, I am not sure if it is exhaustion or if I caught something that has been making the rounds.  I was surfing around and ran across another "Hitler Parody" video.    What can I say...They are great!

Continuation of the Liberal Elitist call for "gun control"

I got another email link from JPFO.org with the continuing story of the LtColonel that believes that the American people should be disarmed with the exception of certain "acceptable firearms"   I had posted Here on it as have many other bloggers.  Well JPFO sent more information on it.

Here is the colonel with all his glory(notice the lack of bracket for NVG use)  Well I will post the entire missive that L. Neil Smith wrote as an open letter to the good Colonel.

CORRECTION: We must humbly apologize for having used an incorrect picture, which was believed to be correct at the time. The substituted picture is described as the actual Lt. Col Bateman being discussed, derived from his Facebook page.

This is an open letter, of sorts, to Lieutenant Colonel Robert Bateman, a "second amendment-hating ... active military commander" who, according to Paul Joseph Watson writing for Prison Planet.com, December 6, 2013, composed an article for Esquire magazine in which he advocated a total ban on all firearms, and closing down all gun manufacturers except for those who produce weapons for the federal government.
Apparently he threatened a blogger who had the gall to disagree with him, vowing to "pry your gun from your cold, dead, fingers" and allegedy issuing veiled death threats. "You will be disarmed," it says here. "The state will have a monopoly on firepower." He even schemes to make it illegal for most types of guns to be inherited. "I'm willing to wait until you die," he tells us, "hopefully of natural causes".
He apologizes for a future in which she will die.
The man has, in fact, a six-point program for creating a future in which the Second Amendment -- and, most likely, the entire Bill of Rights, because that's typical with hypocritical clowns like him -- would become a dead letter. Why would he want to do that? To create a more peaceful society, of course -- less violence and death -- and if you won't willingly cooperate you will be killed in the house-to house searches.
It doesn't seem to have occurred to this military genius that gun laws are enforced at gun point. You say you want less violence and death, Bob? I wonder how that's going to work out in a nation of 100 million Americans who have obeyed their last gun law, holding 750 million "firearms of modern design in good working order". Will you be out front leading the campaign, Bob, or at home, hiding under your bed?
You appear to have learned nothing from history or human nature, Bob, from the Roaring Twenties or the War on Drugs. Following any prohibition, there's always more, not less of the prohibited commodity. Guns will be everywhere, most of them silenced and fully automatic.
Because ... why not?
My father was a lifelong career military officer who understood the phrase "Duty, Honor, Country" in a way you never will. He flew dozens of combat missions over Europe during World War II, was shot down, and spent a year in Stalag Luft III, a prisoner-of-war camp. He retired as a Major after 30 years, because he blew the whistle on intructors selling test answers to officers at a Strategic Air Command school at Mather Air Force Base in the 1950s. Instead of rewards and promotion, he had to be hidden away by his political allies, in the Arctic.
It is disgusting to think that you remain in the military, while better men than you are being purged by a rogue administration, led by a probable illegal alien and communist, because they will refuse to fire on their fellow Americans who won't give up their guns. When I was in high school, neighbors of mine in the First Air Commandos at Hurlburt Field were among the first Americans to die in Vietnam, beheaded by the Viet Cong, or eaten alive by land crabs, believing that they were defending the rights you now threaten so casually to abrogate.
You are a disgrace to the uniform worn by my dad and millions of other Americans down through history who thought they were answering a call to protect the lives, liberties, and property of their fellow Americans.
I must confess that when I first read the nonsense you'd written, I thought you were probably a fourteen-year-old kid in his pajamas, somewhere, sitting behind a keyboard in his mother's basement, making empty threats simply to enjoy the flap they generated. That's what you sound like, Bob. It's pretty easy to stir gun-owners up; they've been relentlessly defamed and persecuted for so many decades by twisted, broken, sick, moral cripples like Charles Schumer and Dianne Feinstein.
More than anyone, however, your rhetoric and tone make me think of Major Nidal Malik Hasan, whose mental health was never properly looked into once he began issuing threats to those around him, and who killed thirteen innocent individuals at Fort Hood in 2009 and injured thirty more.
There was a time, Bob, when concepts like decency and honor meant something, a time when, had an officer (British, of course) shamed himself as you have, he would have taken his Webley revolver and a single cartridge into the next room and done the right thing. But those times are long past, Bob, and what do you know of decency and honor?
We have been learning the hard way that frustrated "progressives" are among the most dangerous entities on the planet. They turn out to be behind the vast majority of notorious and brutal public shootings. They seem to have no brakes, no self-control, like ordinary human beings. Nor do they seem aware that other people are as real as they are.
I believe that violence could be right around the corner for you, Bob, that you should be separated from the Army now, "for the good of the service", and put away where you can't hurt yourself or anybody else.
So I will predict a different future for you than the future you have predicted for us. I'm a science fiction writer, and that's my job. I caution you, don't try this at home; I'm better at it than you are.
It starts with a militarily marked van pulling up to the curb in front of your office, your home, or the retirement community to which you have been committed. Two burly orderlies get out and enter the building.
In a few minutes they emerge holding you between them, wearing leg irons, handcuffs, and belly chains. Make too much noise, you will be gagged. The media will have been alerted; there will be cameras. Your neighbors will stand around gawking and talking to the microphones. It won't matter if you're frog-marched, carried bodily, or rolled out in a wheelchair with a bottle of oxygen in your lap. The orderlies will put you in the back of the vehicle behind a wire partition and drive away.
After a flight somewhat reminiscent of the movie Con Air or The Fugitive, you will be driven in another military vehicle (the new airport is still under construction) to a tiny rust-belt municipality in western Pennsylvania called Nuremberg, specifically to a newly constructed Gothic-style building patterned after those in another place, a place in Germany, called Nuremberg, in which all those Nazi military and civil officials were tried for their crimes against humanity.
You may remember how that turned out.
Charges against you will include crimes against the Constitution of the United States, violation of the solemn oath you took as an Army officer to uphold and defend that Constitution, and, if it can be proven that you harbored your present views when you took that oath, perjury.
Unlike the original Nuremberg tribunals, you will be alotted your full Warholian fifteen minutes. Your trial will be carried -- along with those of many others -- on cable channels dedicated to such entertainment, and the Internet, where the most interesting or amusing segments from your trial will be exhibited over and over again on YouTube.
The proceedings will be fair but fast, conducted before a jury of the people whose rights you have violated. Once you are convicted, you will be transported by various means to San Francisco, and taken to a brand new 100-story windowless prison, built especially for government miscreants like you, on Alcatraz Island. Constructed entirely of black obsidian-like glass that glitters in the sun, it will become one of the most-photographed objects in the world. All confinement will be solitary, although CNN will be piped into your cell on a 24 hour basis.
Inside the prison without windows, Alcatraz's infamous Rule of Silence will be maintained at Taserpoint. Meals will be simple but healthy, from menus supplied by your fellow inmate, Michelle Obama. Outside, Japanese and other tourists on excursion boats will be delighted to pay for chunks of meat with an expired sell-by date, so they can chum the already-shark-infested waters of the bay around the Rock.
Every day you will be taken for exercise to the roof, a glassy smooth surface without guards or guard-rails, where you may interact with your fellow convicts: mayors and city councilmen, governors and legislators, bureaucrats of every rank and description, Senators, Congressmen, Cabinet members and Presidents. The wind is always strong at altitude in San Francisco, out in the middle of the bay. Should you decide you can't take any more, you are free to be blown over the edge by the wind, pushed over by your former colleagues, or simply to jump, yourself.
Your bones will remain at the base of the building as a warning -- or encouragement -- to others. At long last you will be of service to America.
That's the future I'm working to realize, Bob, and there are millions more like me who share my dreams. I suppose you could make amends before it's too late, abjectly apologizing to everyone you've threatened, insulted, and offended. But that would leave a question hanging.
Why should anyone believe you?

Modern Rules and Engagement.

I had gotten this email from my father that had this article in it from one of the local papers.  I really liked it so I figured I would use it on a post.  The pictures are compliments of "google search" since I am a simple person that likes pictures and cartoons to help tell a story.

From the Fayette County GA newspaper, The Citizen on 12/10/13
by Terry Garlock

By my measure, America’s recent wars have been rife with immorality at the very top, where the well-paid and comfortable and protected make decisions that profoundly affect the lives, and sometimes deaths, of the Americans we send to fight.

I’m not referring to the top generals-turned-politician bucking for another star by their sudden yes-man enthusiasm for Obama’s trampling the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy. Frankly, my guess is George Washington never even suspected which of his troops was gay and that gay troops have been helping fight our wars all along. While keeping that part of their life under wraps was surely a personal burden for them, that secrecy helped avoid the inevitable turmoil of introducing the element of romance where it doesn’t belong, in places we require our troops to bet their lives on unit cohesiveness and effectiveness. The new and enlightened policy, wherein the Pentagon holds gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) celebrations, is bad enough, but I am thinking of other policy failures with mortal consequences.

I don’t mean the Obama Administration’s purge of too many generals who have insufficient sensitivity for sexual and gender issues, resist women in combat, have too much curiosity on Benghazi and not enough affection for liberal ideas. Beyond the issue of fairness to these men, we should worry about emasculation of the armed forces.

I’m not referring to the extraordinary burden heaped on our men and women in uniform by three, four or more combat tours while the rest of us sacrifice nothing, while the White House dreams up new ways to redistribute income with government giveaways to favored groups but nary a thought to special compensation to our troops whose families bear our country’s heaviest cost.

Obama’s public dithering over the 2009 troop surge in Afghanistan is closer to my mark of despicable leadership, especially his public announcement to our enemies that we would begin our withdrawal in 18 months. If you doubt that was playing for his own political benefit, that he was appealing the right with his eventual surge announcement and to the left with his simultaneous withdrawal announcement, just ask any seventh grader whether winning a war involves disclosing to your enemy when you will quit. But then, Obama has never to my knowledge even whispered the word “victory.”

I’m not focused on Obama’s spectacular failure in squandering the victory in Iraq, a blunder nicely and easily hidden from an apathetic public who were nearly as eager to end the war as the Vietnam generation. Iraq had no Air Force. Air superiority was purely American, but Obama walked away in complete withdrawal without a status of forces agreement, quite consistent with his priority of ending, not winning, the war. Nobody is better at blaming others, and Obama blamed the Iraqis when he offered to leave 3,000 troops after his generals said we needed 20,000 to do the job and protect themselves, and Iraq’s Maliki countered with refusal because Obama was not serious. Maliki was right, and air superiority in the region now belongs to Iran.

So, how are we betraying our troops as they fight our wars?

It began before Obama. By the time he took office it was already a slowly maturing process in which fighting for victory became passé, overshadowed by fighting for world opinion, using our military like an extension of the State Department. By committing to hostilities not directly linked to our true national security, and imposing rules that make combat success more difficult, we send home a higher number of wounded and flag-draped coffins for heart-breaking funerals.

Consider this. Mike King, Skip Ragan and I had dinner a few months ago with some younger combat helicopter pilots, and discovered two astonishing things. First, the Blackhawk helicopter now has a “hover button” that engages an auto-pilot to keep the aircraft stationary, for example at a high hover for a hoist Dustoff (medevac) mission over dense jungle. That is huge, since hovering a helicopter is tedious, like keeping a uni-cycle upright within a circle no larger than a dinner plate. As young men, we never dreamed automatic hover would be possible.

The second astonishing thing was a pair of Dustoff pilots, each with three Afghanistan tours, who had never taken a ground fire hit. They explained the risk assessment involved with each mission that prevented them from flying into an area that was still hot.

I can’t help but think about Wayne Franz, who was trained as a medic and will never forget his first mission in Vietnam. He said he was assigned to a helicopter with no break-in training, very jittery as they took off to pick up wounded. When they touched down in the landing zone, Wayne said grunts urgently loaded wounded on the aircraft with IVs already started and blood splashing all over the place, and just as he started hoping none of them would die before they reached the hospital pad, the aircraft took off while he held on. He sorted out which IV ran to which patient and wondered what he could do on the short flight that might keep each man alive, but they soon touched down, the hospital crew rushed the patients to triage, leaving Wayne in a blood-covered daze standing by the helicopter wondering what the hell just happened when the pilot stepped out and said to him, “Wow, that was a close one!” Wayne asked him what he meant, and the pilot pointed to a few bullet holes from the ground fire they took on the way in or out of the LZ.

Wayne thought, “Holy crap! How am I going to survive a year of this?” But he did, and I wonder how many are alive today because he was there for them.

I can tell you there are countless men alive today who long to identify and shake the hand of the Dustoff crew that flew them out of Vietnam’s hot LZs. I am one of them. Here in Peachtree City, Alan Walsh and Terry Hoffman are two of many Dustoff pilots who risked their neck hundreds of times to pick up wounded and saved countless lives. Combat deaths in Vietnam were roughly the same ratio as in WWII, but Vietnam resulted in three times as many severely wounded. The difference was Dustoff. Our grunts knew if they got hit in the filth of the jungle, in an hour they would be with doctors and operating rooms. Many badly wounded survived when they would have died in WWII without the benefit of Dustoff.

I am certain that today’s Dustoff pilots in Afghanistan are no less brave, and are surely better trained and equipped than we were over 40 years ago. But they are not permitted to fly into areas with risks while our wounded on the ground may turn into flag-draped coffins, and that is only part of the story.

A new report points the finger of blame at new Rules of Engagement (ROE) imposed by the Obama Administration in 2009, rules that were continually tightened as if they were “playground rules.” A soldier cannot fire on the enemy unless he sees a weapon. He cannot enter a dwelling even during combat, or return fire into a house or Mosque or school. Rules govern what can be searched, by whom, and at what times. The air support and artillery that are the lifeline of ground combat units are held in abeyance until cleared by multiple levels of review including lawyers. And so on. The enemy knows about ROE changes and uses that knowledge, sometimes even before the word spreads to our own troops.

Last year our enemy shot down a CH-47 Chinook helicopter, killing 30 Americans, including 17 members of SEAL Team 6. During that Tangi Valley operation, known enemy operatives were spotted but permission to shoot was denied. When the rocket-propelled grenade shot down the helicopter, An AH-64 Apache gunship pilot saw it happen but ROEs prevented him from firing into the building from which the RPG was fired. Just before that incident an AC-130 gunship spotted enemy operators with weapons and could have fired with no risk of collateral damage but permission to fire was denied.

Wayne Simmons, a retired US intelligence officer who worked in Afghanistan at a high level, says the ROE restraints have “. . . created a hesitation and confusion for our war fighters.,”  You don’t need combat experience to know that could get Americans killed.

Former Army Captain William Swenson, Medal of Honor recipient, said he was nearly killed by the Army’s reluctance to use air support. Ryan Zinke, former commander of a SEAL Team 6 assault team, said we either need to fight or go home.

From January 2009, when ROEs were changed, to August 2010, casualties more than doubled. In 2010 casualties were three times the level in 2008 and five times the 2007 number. That this is happening while the rest of us ignore it should be a matter of national shame.

If I had my choice, my strong bias would be to keep our troops at home, withhold military force until an enemy crossed a clear line of American national security, then eliminate the threat quickly and decisively. To regain what Obama has wasted, our allies’ trust and fear in our enemies’ hearts, we should conduct our military actions in a way that makes the bad guys whisper to each other with trembling dread, “Whatever you do, don’t provoke the Americans!”

When we do send our troops into combat while you and I enjoy the comfort and safety of home, there are some things we owe them out of decency. We owe them and their mission our unbridled support and gratitude. We owe them the battlefield tactics that value their life as the highest priority, even over possible civilian collateral damage, and if we can’t accept that then we should pound our war hardware into plowshares. We owe them the commitment to conquer the enemy quickly rather than rules to attempt a gentle war in hopes of world approval. And finally, to avoid the risk of battlefield rules created by liberal weenies who might wet their pants at the sight of a gun, we owe it to our combat troops to let the armed forces create their own ROEs, since they know what the hell they are doing, with White House oversight.

Is it immoral for political staff at home, with no personal stake or consequences, to create ROEs that raise the likelihood of American dead and wounded? It is to me, and even though you and I can ignore it and enjoy life, we have a duty to speak up

Monday Music "Little Drummer Boy and Peace on Earth"

Well I figured I would run out a Christmas song for Monday Music and I always liked "little Drummer Boy with David Bowie and Bing Crosby.  To me this song plays well with their own music strength and is one of the best known and unusual duets in Music history...Think about it  Bing Crosby, the classic crooner and Ziggie Stardust.   Whodda thunk it?   But they played well together and  created in instant classic.  This song and one other are my favorite Christmas Songs.

"Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" (sometimes titled "The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth") is a Christmas song with an added counterpoint performed by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. "Little Drummer Boy" is a Christmas song written in 1941, while the "Peace on Earth" tune and lyrics, written by Ian Fraser, Larry Grossman, and Alan Kohan, were added to the song specially for Bowie and Crosby's recording.[1]

Recording

The track was recorded on September 11, 1977 for Crosby's then-upcoming television special, Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas. The pair exchanged scripted dialogue about what they each do for their family Christmases, before singing "Little Drummer Boy" with a new counterpoint with original lyrics written for the special, "Peace on Earth".
Bowie's appearance has been described as a "surreal" event, undertaken at a time that he was "actively trying to normalise his career" He has since recalled that he only appeared on the show because "I just knew my mother liked him" Buz Kohan was not sure that Crosby knew who Bowie was, but Ian Fraser claimed, "I'm pretty sure he did. Bing was no idiot. If he didn't, his kids sure did."
According to co-writer Ian Fraser, Bowie balked at singing "Little Drummer Boy": "I hate this song. Is there something else I could sing?", Fraser recalls Bowie telling him. Fraser, along with songwriter Larry Grossman and the special's scriptwriter, Buz Kohan, then wrote "Peace on Earth" as a counterpoint to "Little Drummer Boy". Crosby performed "Little Drummer Boy", while Bowie sang the new tune "Peace on Earth", which they reportedly performed after less than an hour of rehearsal.
Crosby died on October 14, nearly five weeks after recording the special at Elstree Studios near London; in the U.S., the show aired just over a month later, on November 30, 1977, on CBS. In the United Kingdom, the special first aired on December 24, 1977 on ITV.

Release

The song was available for some years as a bootleg single backed with "Heroes", which Bowie had also performed on the TV special. In 1982, RCA issued the recording as an official single, complete with the dialogue, arbitrarily placing "Fantastic Voyage" from the Lodger album on the B-side. Bowie was unhappy with this move, which further soured his already strained relationship with RCA, and he left the label soon after. The single debuted on the UK singles chart in November 1982, and climbed to position number three on the chart, boosted by a 12" picture disc release. It has since become a perennial on British Christmas compilation albums, with the TV sequence also a regular on UK nostalgia shows.
In the United States, "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" became a staple on radio stations during the Christmas season.
On November 9, 2010, Collector's Choice Music released a 7-inch vinyl edition of "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" on red-colored vinyl in the United States. The flip-side of the single contained a Bing Crosby/Ella Fitzgerald duet of the song "White Christmas", recorded in 1953. The single was limited to 2,000 copies.

Russian upgrading their military capability.

I decided to change up from the Hitler themes and the second amendment to Russia, whom has seem a resurgence lately in their military capability and funding at the insistence of their premier Putin that I believe has the aspirations and ambitions of the Tzars of old.  Russia has been revamping their military with new aircraft, upgraded tanks, air defense systems, I honestly believe that they are concerned about their far eastern areas especially with the massive illegal Chinese populations in the area with a massive Red China that has been upgrading their military for the past 20 years using our massive trade imbalance to help finance it.   The same China that has declared an ADIZ farther out in defiance of international law, the same red China that tried to crowd an American Warship this week in the same area.  The same Red China that has territorial disputes with the Philippines over the Spratley islands.          China I have heard is having domestic issues and a good way to solve them is have an international excursion and get the medial controlled masses a distraction.   There are dangerous times afoot and we have the Obungler White house that has brought incompetence to the rarefied heights not seen since the Carter administration and their *detente* program with the Soviets and other countries that didn't like Americans.
Putin is using the huge natural gas and oil that is present in Russia to help finance the buildup.  He also if memory serves, has browbeat Europe in the past because they are depend on the gas and oil to keep their economy going.  I pulled part of this off Aviationweek and other websites.

A massive modernization push is imminent for Russian aerospace defense: The air force alone could receive 4.5 trillion rubles ($136 billion) over 10 years, about one-quarter of the overall drive to upgrade Russia's Soviet-era weaponry.
The money will help replace about 70% of the air force fleet by 2020 and position it to acquire the Sukhoi T-50—a fighter advanced enough to rival the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter—as well as a stealthy, long-range bomber, and to overhaul its surface-to-air missile stockpile. However, analysts caution that the plan's financial scope may be unrealistic.
For now, the investments are on track. During a series of briefings by military officials and defense manufacturers in late November, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the procurement program adopted in 2010. The meetings amounted to the first public audit of the program to ensure that the investments are on track—a domestic show of support for the Russian defense industry, despite the country's economic stagnation.
The list includes accelerating replacement of old aircraft in the air force fleet. Putin has announced that the military will have received 86 new and, modernized fixed-wing aircraft and more than 100 new helicopters this year, and will take delivery of up to 120 fixed-wing aircraft and 90 helicopters in 2014. In 2011 and 2012, just 263 new aircraft were delivered to the military units.
By 2020, the air force aims to have a total of 1,600 new aircraft, renewing about 70% of its fleet.
So far, the air force's orderbook consists of Sukhoi Su-34 fighter-bombers and Su-30M2/SM and Su-35 multirole fighters. In 2014, the air force plans to rearm one air regiment with the Su-34s, according to Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu. A training air base in Borisoglebsk is to be reequipped with Yakovlev Yak-130 jet trainers; 18 of the type were delivered in 2013, out of 55 ordered.
According to the head of the United Aircraft Corp. (UAC), Mikhail Pogosyan, the Sukhoi T-50 will start official evaluation tests with the air force in 2014. The first phase of these trials is expected to be completed in 2015, he says. The five prototypes involved in the preliminary test program have logged more than 450 flights. The Russian defense ministry issued technical requirements for the future long-range bomber to the corporation in September. “We are now at the stage of drawing up the contracts to start the full-scale development of this aircraft beginning next year,” Pogosyan says.

The air force expects the stealthy bomber aircraft, to be developed under the PAK DA program, to replace its current strategic bomber fleet of Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjacks, Tu-95 Bears and Tu-22M3 Backfires by 2025-30. Meanwhile, the veteran bombers are being upgraded with new avionics and airborne weapons. UAC completed factory testing of the upgraded versions of the Tu-160 and Tu-95 and is handing them over for the official trials.
The procurement program also calls for enhanced air transport capabilities for the air force. In November, UAC completed the first phase of official tests of the Il-76MD-90A, a much modernized Ilyushin Il-76 heavy transport aircraft. During this phase, the aircraft completed 38 flights, including tests at the maximum takeoff and landing weights (210 tons and 170 tons, respectively). The air force has 39 transports on order; the modifications will be done in Russia, although the older variants were manufactured in Uzbekistan. Pogosyan has promised that deliveries will start next year. The UAC has begun development of medium transport aircraft as a joint program with India and completed the detailed design of a new light transport, Pogosyan says.
Meanwhile, the aerospace defense troops are being reequipped with the S-400 (SA-21 Growler) long-range air defense and anti-ballistic missile systems. Two units of these surface-to-air missiles (SAM) were delivered this year and three more are to be deployed in 2014, Putin says.
S-400 manufacturer Almaz-Antey is working on a next-generation system, the S-500, that will undergo intensive trials in 2014-15, says the company's chief designer, Pavel Sozinov.
The aging S-300PT and PS (SA-10 Grumble), the most common air defense missiles in the force, will be replaced by new S-350 Vityaz medium-range mobile SAMs unveiled this summer. Sozinov says official trials will be conducted during 2014 and deliveries could start in 2015-16.
The aerospace defense troops' missile capabilities will be supported by expansion of the early-warning radar network. The service operates three Voronezh modular radar stations and plans to deploy seven more in the next five years.
Defense experts are quite skeptical of the rearmament program's feasibility, however. “Even if the program is properly financed, it is unlikely to be fully implemented, as the required modernization of defense industry facilities and the respective regulatory environment lag behind,” says Konstantin Makienko, deputy director of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, a Moscow-based defense think tank.

TOR M2E firing a 9M331 interceptor. The missile is capable of defeating aerodynamically maneuvering targets at ranges of seven to 10 km.
Russia’s Almaz-Antey defense corporation has developed an advanced version of the Tor-M2 air defense system (NATO reporting name SA-15 Gauntlet), utilizing a new interceptor missile that has improved performance, doubled the ammunition capacity and enabled firing on the move capability. According to Sergei Druzin, head of research and development at Almaz-Antey, the enhanced version represents a “unique air defense system in its class with an astounding precision and range.”
The Tor system is a low- to medium-altitude, short-range surface-to-air missile system designed for intercepting aircraft, cruise missiles, precision-guided munitions, unmanned aerial vehicles and ballistic targets.
Tor-M1K and Tor-M2U variants, armed with 9M331 missiles, are currently in service with the Russian army. The new system, equipped with new 9M338 missiles, was successfully tested at the end of October 2013. “We carried out five launches targeting highly maneuverable drones. Three of the targets were hit head-on, while the other two were destroyed by shrapnel from exploding warheads. It is an excellent result, astounding precision,” Druzin said.
In addition, the smaller size of the 9M338 compared with its predecessor has allowed the carrying capacity of the launcher to be doubled, from eight to 16 missiles. The official said the improved Tor-M2 systems and 9M338 missiles have been approved by a state commission for mass production. “We can now start producing these missiles in quantities that would meet the demand of the Russian army,” Druzin said. The Tor M2E missile system has also been exported to Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, China, Venezuela and Iran. Earlier versions (M1) were also exported to Greece, Cyprus and Egypt.
According to Druzin, the next step in the improvement of the system would be for launching missiles at acquired targets while on the move. “The [mobile] launcher currently stops for two or three seconds to launch a missile, but it could be done on a move, without stopping,” Druzin said.
The export version known as TOR M2E is also armed with the 9M331 interceptor, is designed as a short range air defense system, capable of intercepting air breathing and maneuvering targets at ranges of 1-12 km and altitudes from ground level (10 meters) to 10 km. Cruise missiles and drones could be killed at ranges of 1.5 km to 7 km maximum with precision guided weapons intercepted at a minimum distance of 50 meters and maximum range of six kilometers. Maximum target speed is 700 m/sec (2,520 km/h). A Tor M2E can engage four targets simultaneously, having up to eight missiles airborne. (four actively guided).
The export variants are also expected to be offered with the new interceptor.

"Picked the wrong Girl" Glock Commercial....and Brain Freeze and other musings

I was trying to pick my brain for something to post,  I am sure that other bloggers have those moments where there is soo much you want to post about but there is a mental dis-connect between the brain and the fingers hovering over the keyboards.  I wanted to continue something with my Hitler and 2nd Amendment thingie that I have been running with and just had "vapor lock".  Well I also wanted to post about the "selfies" that the first Grifter was doing at the funeral of Nelson Mandela.
The recent budget deal that the wimp establishment republicans pushed through that basically kicked sequestration to the curb.  The GOP is afraid that they would get mauled in another budget showdown with the Democrats so they rolled over and let the Democrats steamroller them.  The Democrats I believe were hoping for a budget showdown to get the bad publicity of Obamacare off the news...for a while.
The Election year Democrats are running scared of this election year cycle, because they will have to answer for Obamacare that was passed strictly on a party line vote, there were no GOP votes..Even the RINO's stayed away from this.....Surprisingly.  They were hoping to force a budget fight to get the onus back on the GOP on the runup before the 2014 elections.

Speaking of Obunglercare...Here is a tidbit I got talking to another parent at my sons scout troop.  This person was talking about a  major software upgrade roll out they they are worried about and I commented " as long as your roll out works better than the Obamacare website roll-out , then y'all would be fine."    This person replied that " My company is the one that rolled out the ACA website."   *Oh Snap*   I thought.   I replied " You work for CGI Federal?"   This person nodded in the affirm, I without thinking immediately asked " What happened, was there any test of the system before the roll-out?"  This person replied " there was soo much bureaucratic interference in the program, all these people wanted their input into the product, but then wouldn't make a decision and punted it to another bureaucrat who then shuffled it to another one.  We had no guidance on exactly what they wanted...Just vague *suggestions*.  We were stumbling around trying to do what they asked.  There were no leadership or direction given.  We kept changing the codes, adding things and then removing things....per their many request, but no firm guidance. And they would not change the date of the rollout, political considerations"     I was thinking.*yep, the bureaucrat play...Duck and cover....Don't make a decision...you might be held responsible by those above you and get demoted.*    And people want the government to run your healthcare?

Well I was surfing around looking for something to go with my Hitler and 2nd Amendment thingie...and in a flash of insanity *ahem* brilliance I thought of Glock, they are an Austrian import...As was Hitler...*.Tada!* this fit the *Hitler and 2nd Amendment* thingie I was looking for.  So I was surfing Glock and ran across this video.

"Somebody picked the wrong girl."
You'd think the party that claims to support strong, independent women would love her. OK, no you wouldn't. Because they don't. The party in question loves a woman who knows where to go to get government benefits. A woman like this is doing it all wrong:

It's actually a lot more dramatic and intense than you might have expected. Every time she goes back to the couch (if you are wondering what she is watching, it is the "somebody picked the wrong diner" commercial by Glock and R.Lee Ermey) and sits down, only to hear that ominous knock on the door once again, you're really starting to get concerned that the perp might get in before she's armed and ready.
The first time I watched (spoiler if you haven't already hit play), I was actually expecting her to shoot him dead. Now that would have been attention-getting, but it is a commercial after all, and I don't suppose that's really the association Glock is looking for. It's about protecting yourself, not about killing someone. Granted, without the threat of the latter you can't really do the former, but I do think it's accurate that in the circumstances envisioned here, it would not be necessary to ever pull the trigger the vast majority of the time. The perp is either going to run or put his hands on his head and give up.
A lynchpin of the liberal argument against gun rights is that the average gun-toting citizen is more likely to get shot by his/her own gun than to use in successfully in self-protection. This ad really exposes the thinking that drives that argument. The left simply doesn't believe that a young woman like this could handle herself in the situation depicted. In their minds, there is no way she's pointing the gun at the door when the bad guy gets it open - poised and ready. And that goes for a 40-year-old dad looking to protect his family too. These dopes would just end up getting shot by their own gun, so they're better off not being allowed to own it in the first place. That's the argument. They are better off calling the Police and hope they get there in time.
I will say this: If I'm her, I'm not waiting until the third time I hear the noise to get the gun. The first time I might write it off as something harmless, but the second time I'm getting the Glock. Why does she wait so long? Just for the ad's dramatic effect?  That has been a complaint with all the scary movies that I see...When somebody goes looking for the *bump in the night* they go unarmed.   In the real world, Jason or Freddie would have ate either a few shots of 00 buck or some other form of projectiles.
Anyway, if that's the strongest criticism of the ad (and it would be mine), that's not an anti-gun control argument. It's an argument for getting that thing in your hands sooner.

And here is the "Somebody picked the Wrong Diner" video that a blurp was shown in the preceeding video.

"Common Sense Gun Control laws" According to a Liberal Elitist

I figured I would continue my "Hitler and 2nd amendment stuff" again as I seemed to be on a roll with it.  A few days ago there was an article published by a retired lieutenant Colonel, that talked disparagingly of the 2nd amendment.  Here is the link if you can hold your stomach.  I guess he swore a different oath than I did....to defend the U.S. Constitution....AM  talked more in detail with his rebuttal than I did,  You can go over for a look and see how this went.  Well worth the read, you will have to scroll down a bit to find it.
Here is a part of the his OP-ED piece...I wanted to reach for a garbage can to retch as I read this drivel by the closed minded elitist.  My Responses will be in BLACK

" Guns are tools. I use these tools in my job. But like all tools one must be trained and educated in their use. Weapons are there for the "well regulated militia." Their use, therefore, must be in defense of the nation. Shooting and killing somebody because they were not "upset enough" over the loss of a college football team should not be possible in our great nation. How about blaming the person, not the object...What a novel concept.I guess individual responsibility is an unusual concept for you leftist... Which is why I am adding the following "Gun Plank" to the Bateman-Pierce platform. Here are some suggestions:
1. The only guns permitted will be the following:

  • a. Smoothbore or Rifled muzzle-loading blackpowder muskets. No 7-11 in history has ever been held up with one of these.   What is with liberal elitist and this fascination with black powder rifles , they think they are on to something when they use this as a rebuttal.  First off, the 2nd amendment is NOT about hunting....it is our defence against tyranny when the time comes.  If they want to continue along this like of thought with technology...fine, the first amendment can only be distrabuted via handbills and hand loaded printing press only, no electronic media ...That is what was around when the 10 amendments were ratified....and watch them self destruct because they really like the 1st amendment.  They forget that the bill of rights are rights given to us by our creator, and they are natural rights and they are codified so the government will be there to ensure those rights.  These rights are NOT granted to us by the government, we already HAVE them.
  • b. Double-barrel breech-loading shotguns. Hunting with these is valid.  Hunting is a viable pastime and many weapons are used from shotguns to rifles to bow and arrows.  The 2nd amendment ain't about hunting, and I appreciate your indulgence in letting me and the other commoners keep my double barrel shotgun....Not
  • c. Bolt-action rifles with a magazine capacity no greater than five rounds. Like I said, hunting is valid. But if you cannot bring down a defenseless deer in under five rounds, then you have no fking reason to be holding a killing tool in the first place.   Again you miss the point...the 2nd amendment ain't about hunting, it is about our natural God given gift of self defense to protect our freedom from bad people, and overblown blowhard liberal elitist and others that might want to take what is mine and my family from our property to our lives.
2. We will pry your gun from your cold, dead, fingers. That is because I am willing to wait until you die, hopefully of natural causes. Guns, except for the three approved categories, cannot be inherited. When you die your weapons must be turned into the local police department, which will then destroy them. (Weapons of historical significance will be de-milled, but may be preserved.)  Tyranny will not wait, and when you and your ilk come for our guns, you can have them, expended of ammo of course.   Again the condescending attitude and belief....You will "allow"...Yeah right....And by the way, You will die before I do, either of natural causes, rope burns or lead poisoning..My weapons are heirloom items, they will be passed to my son and hopefully to his sons...in due time.
3. Police departments are no longer allowed to sell or auction weapons used in crimes after the cases have been closed. (That will piss off some cops, since they really need this money. But you know what they need more? Less violence and death. By continuing the process of weapon recirculation, they are only making their jobs -- or the jobs of some other cops -- harder.)  Again, the lawful gun owner is being blamed by the crime rate, you sure it ain't other reasons like the destruction of the nuclear family, the lack of morals, the glorification of the drug and its associated lifestyle in the world? And the myriad of policies enacted by your democratic handlers to push their agenda?  Before 1968, you could order a gun through the Sears Roebuck catalog and have it shipped to your house.  The average cops excluding Police Chiefs(who have their job due to political patronage and parrot whatever the mayor wants to keep their jobs) have no problem with the average law-abiding gun-owner.
4. We will submit a new tax on ammunition. In the first two years it will be 400 percent of the current retail cost of that type of ammunition. (Exemptions for the ammo used by the approved weapons.) Thereafter it will increase by 20 percent per year.  The average liberal answer is to tax anything, You want to really piss off a bunch of gun owners, try to push through a punitive tax on ammo, that will guarantee either the democrats losing an election or the push-back against overreaching government will turn violent.
5. We will initiate a nationwide "buy-back" program, effective immediately, with the payouts coming from the DoD budget. This buy-back program will start purchasing weapons at 200 percent of their face value the first year, 150 percent the second year, 100 percent the third year. Thereafter there will be a 10 year pause, at which point the guns can be sold to the government at 10 percent of their value for the next 50 years.  Again what is with you liberal elitist going after the DoD budget? What you can't touch the myriad of social programs that your  democratic handlers require to keep their base content and and voting?  I am sure the average soldier will not appreciate watching his pay and other things being stripped in the budget to fund such a thing and disgruntled soldiers can cause many problems for the regime.
6. The major gun manufactures of the United States, less those who create weapons for the federal government and the armed forces, will be bought out by the United States of America, for our own damned good.  Again with the big government elitist dreams of nationalizing entire industry.  So in the end the only people that will have weapons are the rulers, and the average citizen will be little more than a wage slave to support and serve their betters in the government.
..That is tyranny and the 2nd American civil war will have started.  In the end we will win, and there is a lot more of us than of y'all

Well Lt Colonel Bateman, I am from a slightly younger generation and we have a word for you.....And this is my opinion, and  is from the heart....Really....it is....

Monday Music "Once in a lifetime" by Talking Heads

Well Here I go doing another "Monday Music" on a Tuesday,  But I can't call it "Tuesday Music"...it don't sing.  I will try to get better on the Monday posting of the Monday Music.  Well the 3rd thing happened, the bad things come in 3's, well there was the accident, then the water heater, then the 3rd thing hit....We installed the new water heater, pressurized the lines and *boom*, the water line behind my sons shower literally burst.  We had water coming into my kitchen via the ceiling before we got the water stopped.  that is either the 3rd thing, or if pattern holds true...Wednesday will be interesting.  On another note,  I decided to go with the band "Talking Heads".  I first heard of them on MTV, watching their video's along with all the other British new wave that was part of the 2nd British invasion or New Wave" that hit heavy on MTV.

"Once in a Lifetime" is a song by New Wave band Talking Heads, released as the first single from their fourth studio album Remain in Light. The song was written by David Byrne, Brian Eno, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison, and Tina Weymouth, and produced by Eno. It received critical acclaim, and was named one of the 100 most important American musical works of the 20th century by National Public Radio.
At the time of its original release, the song gained modest chart success, peaking at #14 on the UK Singles Chart and at #31 in the Dutch singles chart. While the song failed to chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, various American 80s format radio stations have come to programming it in their playlists over the years. It was also an early MTV staple and was one of the most heavily played videos upon MTV's debut in August 1981.
A live version of the song taken from Talking Heads' concert film Stop Making Sense was released as a single in 1984, peaking at #91 on the Billboard Hot 100. The studio version is widely regarded as their signature song, along with "Burning Down the House".[citation needed]
Kermit the Frog performed the song on a 1996 episode of Muppets Tonight. The song is featured in the films Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Rock Star, and Hot Tub Time Machine, and in trailers for the films The Family Man, W., Wreck-It Ralph and Reagan.

Brian Eno introduced Fela Kuti's multiple rhythm music style to the band, and during production Eno used a different rhythm count for some members of the group than others, starting on the "3" instead of the "1." It gave the song what Eno called "a funny balance within it. It has really two centers of gravity: their "1" and my "1."" This rhythm imbalance was exaggerated in the studio, and is present throughout the song.[ Jerry Harrison developed the synthesizer line and added the Hammond organ climax, taken from Velvet Underground's "What Goes On". Eno sang nonsense verb sound blocks, which Byrne then converted into lyrics in the call and response style of American radio evangelists on the theme of moving through life with little awareness or questioning. Eno wasn't particularly fond of the song, and it was almost dropped from the album before Eno came up with the vocal melody for the chorus which "saved" the song.
As the song essentially consisted of a repetitive two-bar groove (with the pattern reversed between the verse and the chorus) Brian Eno decided to approach the production by allowing each of the band members to record overdubs of different rhythmic and musical ideas independently of each other, with each member being kept blind to what the others had recorded on tape. In the final mix Eno faded between these different independent ideas at different parts of the song. This is very much in keeping with his production technique of Oblique Strategies.

The verses of the song consist of David Byrne speaking rather than singing. With the lyrics "Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down," the song has an existential mood to it, although it is usually interpreted to be a song dealing with the midlife crisis and the inevitable sacrifice of youthful ideals and dreams for conventional success.[citation needed]

Music video

The music video features a bespectacled David Byrne dancing much like a marionette. Byrne is shown making sudden flings of his arm, tapping his head, and getting on his hands and knees to pat the floor, much like simple tricks which can be done with actual marionettes. In the background, clones of Byrne dance in perfect synchronization; in the foreground, a larger Byrne is getting further and further out of synchrony.
The video is exhibited in the New York Museum of Modern Art. Some of Byrne's mannerisms (such as physical spasms, unfocused eye movements, and sharp intakes of breath) were inspired by his choreographer, Toni Basil, showing him footage of epilepsy sufferers.[5]
The video also made an appearance on an episode of the 90s Beavis and Butthead.

Relearning the lessons of History..

On a personal note, I have been again super busy, spend Friday running around and cleaning out the  wife's car including removal of all personal effects and license plate.  She has started banding around vehicles choices and she seriously likes the Ford Edge.  Not a new one, but a 2010 model or newer car and doing other stuff before heading to an "Order of the Arrow" banquet. The Order of the Arrow (OA) is the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).  Then spent all day Saturday doing a "looporee" a cub scout event where I was the Archery instructor.  This event was cold, it hovered around 45 degrees, cloudy, overcast and some drizzle.  As I told some of the other people that were there..".If it ain't raining...it ain't training".  Those that are veterans understood the reference...the regular civilians didn't get it...at first.  I came home Saturday evening and ate something and crawled into bed.  I was beat.

Then the wife wakes me up later on...There was a problem with the hot water heater...and so I got up, crawled my tired butt up into the attic, and sitting in a pile of water in the overflow tub...was the hot water heater.....Sheesh.  I shouldn't complain...the hot water heater was 17 years old.....but what timing.......   So we spent time over at the in-laws house running laundry and taking hot showers.   They say bad things happen in 3...If I had a fallout shelter, I would hide for a week or so until the spate of bad luck passes.  Or if nothing else..I don't fly for a few weeks.
I ran across this picture from a non-peoplescube source and thought it would tie in with my earlier post I did on the 2nd amendment.

"When we have a leader that ignores the rule of law...except when it is politically convenient for him.  We have a legislative branch that is spineless and divided, and the charismatic leader that has control of the media, the security apparatus and the mob.  This is where tyranny comes from.  I wonder how this will play out for the future....".
I wonder if this is what a German dissident believed before being sent to a work camp for "Crimes against the state"

Underhanded Liberal Anti-gunners tactics

I would have posted this earlier, but I had to handle an accident.  On the way home, my wife got into an accident and her 2006 Freestyle got totaled.
I have a good insurance company that caters to the Military community so I am not worried about that, but I am grateful that she is ok except for the bruising from the seat-belt and the airbag deployment.  She is glad that she is ok, but she is annoyed, that car had 160,000 miles on it and she loved that car, it took the family cub scout and boy scout camping( lots of times)  many road trips and the daily driver uses.  That car was her 2nd new car that she ever got and she was perfectly content with it.  The car was paid for and ran well.  Now she has to look for another car and she absolutely hates car shopping.  But I digress.

Now to my blog post.
I am a hardcore proponent of the 2nd amendment.  I became a believer after visiting Dachau concentration camp in southern  Germany in Bavaria.  That the state was able to shove all those people into a cattle car and ship them off to their death and these people meekly went because they didn't have the means to resist and the social conditioning that made them susceptible to this.  I and many others have sworn that when the time comes to go into that long goodnight, we will not go meekly and await either the executioners bullet, blade, gas, drone strike or other means that they will use to dispatch people that disagree with the ideals of the elitist Liberal and other power hungry socialist.  We in the United States are lucky that there is the 2nd amendment to protect our ability to resist tyranny.
Now we have a small very vocal anti-gunners that run around and try to cause problems for people who believe in the 2nd amendment.  Many of us also do concealed carry and sometimes open carry and we try to be very understanding of establishments that don't want firearms in their establishment.  We understand that, we are believers of "free Choice" whereas the anti-gunners not only want to not own guns, they want to make sure that you don't either.   There is a logical disconnect here.  Now I get emails and alerts from JPFO.org on the latest things the collectivist are up to.  I consider this especially devious, not only they trying to reattach the social stigma about firearms they are interfering with the transactions about a buyer and seller.

Apparently the gun haters have decided that since they can't convince business owners to post anti-gun signs, maybe they should post the signs themselves.

After Oct 1st I started to look for posted signs at my favorite establishments. I frequently go to a local chicken wing place in Greensboro and last week I noticed a simple sicker that pictured a pistol with red circle and line through it. I took it as no firearms allowed.

I was grabbing a to go order so I had already called it in. I was sad as this was going to be my last order as I wasn't going to support them anymore. I REALLY like their wings. The manager is the one who brought me my order and gave me the customary "come again soon." To which I replied "not likely as long as you have that" pointing at the sticker.

She was shocked and asked the hostess if she knew who put that there. She asked me to wait and went to the back. She came back with the chef who is the owner and he said he had no idea how that got there. He removed it and wished me a good day.

The story has a happy ending, but the follow up is even better.

There's a lesson here. If you see a gun ban sign, make sure to question it. It might be some anti-gun jerk posting the sign.
If you are the victim of some gun hater posting a sign like this, please let me know. I can put you in touch with the Grass Roots North Carolina leadership and we can publicly humiliate the person posting the sign. It might not be worth the effort to sue them for Tortious Interference with Business Relationships

Basically if you see an anti-gun sticker on your choice of business, politely ask the manager about this, it could be sticker ed without their knowledge, and if they agree with it, you can then decide if you want to continue to frequent their establishment.

Monday Music AC/DC "Thunderstruck"

Well my schedule is back to being chaotic so my "Monday Music" is again posted on Tuesday.  I am hopeful that after Christmas my schedule will slow down and I will have time to take a breath...and post more.

I decided to go with AC/DC "thunderstruck"   This song hit in 1990 while I was in Germany and it was very popular, this was one song that every would play LOUD.  Something about good crunching Heavy Metal Rock and Roll.    When we were in the Gulf, we had dedicated this song to Saddam Hussain and his Republican Guard as they were "Thunderstruck" by the United States Military.

"Thunderstruck" is the first song on the 1990 album The Razors Edge by the hard rock group AC/DC.
The song was released as a single in Germany, Australia, and Japan, and peaked at No. 5 on U.S. the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. In 2010, "Thunderstruck" topped Triple M's Ultimate 500 Rock Countdown in Melbourne, Australia. The top five were all AC/DC songs.
With the exception of new material from an album they are touring behind, this is one of only two songs released after Back in Black that the band still regularly performs live in concert, the other being "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)".
