Monday Music "Lavender" by Marillion"

I ran across this song in the mid-late 1980's perhaps 1988-1989,   I thought this was a real neat song.  I heard it on a German radio station where I would surf around for something else to listen to when AFN would start playing country or Rap.  But I heard this song and it was around the time that I had just gotten a "dear John" letter from my girl that had rotated back to the world a couple of months earlier.  Yes this taught me a lesson about long distance romances.....Yep, they normally don't work.  When I got orders for deployment in 1990 for Desert Shield, I was dating a German girl, wasn't real serious  and yes I broke it off.  I didn't want any entanglements to screw with my game over there, and after seeing some of the stuff I saw happen to other people getting dear Johns letters or divorce notices via VHS tapes and other things, I made the right call.  Remember in the movie "Jarhead" when the guys wife sent a VHS tape, yes we got those...and the recordable birthday cards..Yes we got those also...and nothing like getting one of those with a "Dear John" letter and a performance with the wife and "Jodi"
Even now I despise Jody...No Honor.  "Jody will take advantage of a service member's girlfriend in the service member's absence. Jody stays at home, drives the soldier's car, and gets the soldier's sweetheart (often called "Susie") while the soldier is in boot camp or in country."

I will get my "Pensacola" post out probably tomorrow...I will break it into 2 sections....Lotta pics and stuff.

"Lavender" is a song by the British neo-progressive rock band Marillion. It was released as the second single from their 1985 UK number one concept album Misplaced Childhood. The follow-up to the UK number two hit "Kayleigh", the song was their second Top Five UK hit, entering the chart on 7th September 1985, reaching number five and staying on the chart for nine weeks. None of the group's subsequent songs have reached the Top Five and "Lavender" remains their second highest-charting song. As with all Marillion albums and singles between 1982 and 1988, the cover art was created by Mark Wilkinson.

Misplaced Childhood is the third studio album by the British neo-progressive rock band Marillion, released in 1985.

Recorded during the spring of 1985 at Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin and produced by Chris Kimsey, who had previously worked with the Rolling Stones, Misplaced Childhood has been the group's most successful album to date, peaking immediately at number one in the UK charts, spending a total of 41 weeks on the chart, and ultimately gaining the Platinum status. It features Marillion's two most successful singles, the guitar-led rock ballad "Kayleigh", which reached number two in the UK, and piano-led "Lavender" which peaked at number five.
The album's positive reception included its selection as one of the best of 1985 by rock publications Sounds and Kerrang!. It was later named one of the best concept albums of all time by Classic Rock. According to John Franck from AllMusic, the album was the band's "most accomplished" and "streamlined" work to date, while Ultimate Classic Rock has called it "the cornerstone of the entire 'neo-prog' movement".

The song features a number of verses that are reminiscent of the folk song "Lavender's Blue". The song forms part of the concept of the Misplaced Childhood album. Like "Kayleigh" it is a love song, but whereas "Kayleigh" was about the failure of an adult relationship, "Lavender" recalls the innocence of childhood:
The childhood theme also brought up the idea of utilising an old children's song and "Lavender" was an obvious contender as one of the original pop songs of its time.
Going through parks listening to Joni Mitchell, "Lavender" is the little boy's dream about you can walk through the park and bump into the lady of your dreams that you're going to fall instantaneously in love with.
The opening lines "I was walking in the park dreaming of a spark, when I heard the sprinklers whisper, shimmer in the haze of summer lawns" deliberately recall the title track of Mitchell's album The Hissing of Summer Lawns.
Unusually for a rock song from the mid-1980s, "Lavender" features a traditional grand piano rather than an electronic keyboard or electric piano. In the music video, keyboardist Mark Kelly is clearly seen playing a Bechstein but the original sleeve notes of the Misplaced Childhood album state that a Bösendorfer was used for the recording.

Moscow Rules #2 Never go against your gut....

I and many others have blogged about listening to your gut.  I have told many people that your gut is a holdover from our primal days and our gut quickly locates a potential threat and identifies it.  Your gut picks up the subliminal leaking pardon the pun from other people.  It is hard to describe the phenomenon,  My buddy Shelldude talked about the "Gut" feeling thing a lot.  As much as people think, we are not as far from the primitive as people think.  It is part of the "fight or flight".  I listen to my gut frequently and the gut is rarely wrong.  I pulled the article from "Drudge", the pic came from my stash and the "Moscow Rules" came from the people that survived the most dangerous place to be a spy during the Cold War.

It’s one of the most commonly doled out nuggets of professional advice: "Go with your gut." But it’s a very challenging system to consistently implement.
"We spend our workdays in our outer world. We’re interacting with our team members and clients. We don’t have enough time in our inner world where we can reflect on those experiences and listen to what our gut might have to say," says Hana Ayoub, a professional development coach.

Why is trusting your gut so powerful? Because your gut has been cataloging a whole lot of information for as long as you’ve been alive. "Trusting your gut is trusting the collection of all your subconscious experiences," says Melody Wilding, a licensed therapist and professor of human behavior at Hunter College.
"Your gut is this collection of heuristic shortcuts. It’s this unconscious-conscious learned experience center that you can draw on from your years of being alive," she explains. "It holds insights that aren’t immediately available to your conscious mind right now, but they’re all things that you’ve learned and felt. In the moment, we might not be readily able to access specific information, but our gut has it at the ready."
"I’ve never heard a client say, ‘I regret going with my gut,’" says Ayoub. Think of all the time and mental energy that can be conserved by not having to overthink your next move. Here's how you can start right now.

Carve Out Time To Reflect

After a meeting or interaction that requires a decision on your part, give yourself mental space to reflect. "Instead of grabbing a coffee in the kitchen, take a walk around the block. Spend time alone. Even if it’s just a minute," says Ayoub.
If it’s a bigger decision you need to make, Ayoub recommends creating a larger window before you need to respond. "Start telling people: ‘I need to sleep on this, I’ll get back to you tomorrow.’ Start building that response into your conversations, especially with the people you work with most. It’s telling people that’s how you work."
"You have to create space to listen to what your gut is saying. That’s why people say they get their best ideas in the shower," says Wilding. "Start to think back and do an audit of your day. It’s intentional mind wandering."

Give Yourself Constraints

Lou Leone, the founder of Leadinary, a management consulting and executive coaching firm for startups, has an exercise for those who overanalyze. Every time you have a big decision or tough choice to make, give yourself a half hour window to make it.
"At the end of that half hour, you’re going to have to use your gut. That forces you to be more instinctive," says Leone.
Did you say "should?" "Whenever I hear clients say ‘I should,’ I say: ‘According to who?’ They usually say, ‘family pressure’ or ‘I guess I’m making it up.’ The ‘should’s’ help people tune in to when they’re not listening to their gut," says Ayoub.

Be Aware Of Your Feelings

Wilding recommends developing an awareness of how you feel during work situations. "Do a body scan of what’s going on for you. You may think, I feel nervous right now, or I feel like I’m not sure what’s coming next. Use those skills of emotional labeling to get in touch with what your gut might be saying to you," says Wilding.

List Every Time Your Gut Instinct Served You

Being instinctive isn’t simply an innate trait: It’s a quality that increases or decreases given how much we practice doing it well. Lou Leone recommends listing all the times you trusted your gut and whether the outcome was favorable.
"By going through the exercise, you’ll see, ‘When I trusted my gut, I always felt good about the decision I made,’" says Leone. He says that with repetition, "Your gut starts getting better at doing what’s right for you."
"As similar situations arise and you have an instinct, you realize you had this instinct before, and it’s that much stronger," he explains. "Your instinct gets sharper and more reactive. Then, when you experience positive outcomes, it creates a positive feedback loop." With time, you can comfortably defer more and more of your decision-making to your gut instinct.

Just came back from a trip...

My son and I went back to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola.  We went there back in 2012, January 2013 and it was awesome, and this time we went was very good.

I am tired, the distance wasn't too bad, but having to deal with the Florida drivers and the spring breakers.....And I thought GA drivers sucked...man they can't hold a candle to the Florida drivers....

I will post pics and story later.....My brain is mush right now.

I was working on my blog post but I am having problems with my baby laptop.  I may have to wait until I get home to try to correct it.

Monday Music.."If I ever lose my faith in you" by Sting

I have been very busy with work, the PAX mods we are doing are coming to the end and I am trying to max out my overtime before we go back to letter checks(regular maintenance schedule) A.K.A. No Overtime.  This song came on while I was driving home and I remembered this song when it came out in 1993, I always liked Sting, and I thought he played a pretty cool bad guy in the Movie "Dune" which I also liked...
This song came out in a weird period in my life, I was working as a Domino's Pizza Manager and 100 hour weeks were common.  I was going for "Franchisee" so I put in the hours.  Needless to say I didn't have a life.   There was a girl I was interested in and she worked at another Fast food Restaurant.  I tried to be old school and "court" her I believe the word was.....but she dumped me for a guy named "snake."  At the time I was really hurt, but in retrospect..I got a much better one down the line so it all worked out in the end.  When I hear the song, it reminds me of that period of my life and the strange things that have happened.

"If I Ever Lose My Faith in You" is a song recorded by English singer Sting. It was the second single from his album Ten Summoner's Tales and was released in 1993. It achieved a moderate success in many countries, reaching #17 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It remains one of Sting's signature songs.
In 1994 the song won Sting a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male, while it was also nominated for both Record of the Year and for Song of the Year.
It has been included on all of Sting's compilation albums since its release, namely Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984-1994 and The Very Best of Sting & The Police.

Ten Summoner's Tales is the fourth solo studio album by the English rock musician Sting. The title is a combined pun of his family name, Sumner, and a character in Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, the summoner. Released in 1993, it explores themes of love and morality in a noticeably upbeat mood compared to his previous release, the introspective The Soul Cages released in 1991 after the loss of both his parents in the 1980s.
This album contained two US hits; "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You" reached No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and "Fields of Gold" reached #23.
Ten Summoner's Tales was shortlisted for the 1993 Mercury Prize. In 1994, it was nominated for six Grammy awards, winning Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance ("If I Ever Lose My Faith in You") and Best Long Form Music Video. It did not win Album of the Year, Record or Song of the Year.
A Laser Disc and VHS of the album were released, containing live performances of all songs on the album at Lake House.

Thoughts on the Trump and the protest

This election cycle has proven to be a humdinger..we have the establishment from both party under attack from outsider candidates.  The GOP has Trump making a run and the Establishment is pulling out all the stops to derail him from paying off conservative websites to trash Trump and throwing money at Kasich to keep on running.

Despite that he hasn't really done much.  The Cruz is doing better and people are getting their battle lines drawn for their candidates.

We have paid protestors harassing the Donald and his supporters, there are ads in Craigslist for "paid activist" and it pays about $15 an hour so people get paid to go and heckle the Donald and his supporters ..
And get Maced.....for being an entitled brat....and hitting the old guy whom didn't want to hear her crap anymore.

The trash I see on facebook is depressing...they are running all over each other and forgetting that they need to concentrate on "Team Donk".

Lets talk about Hillary first since she is the "anointed"one according to the DNC, they have tried to put in the fix for her.  She is still being dogged by the email scandals.  She is considered corrupt by everybody but the most hardcore party apparachik.
She is still electable due to the fact that many of the people believe that it is a "women's turn" now to be President....Remember the same people elected Barack Obama for the same reason....well kinda  for him it was the effeminate black guy....now it is the other way they are going with a bullish female....Talk about Gender identity issues....Oh snap I went there....
Now we have Bernie making a run on Hillary, but he has been promising everything to his supporters
Here is a video that helped explain the Bernie Sanders Economic plan
It is very hilarious but there is a lot of information on it.

To paraphrase....."We Live in Interesting times..."

Facebook Friends...?

Is it just me or has everyone got inundated with facebook friend request.  I have noticed that they are almost always of scantily clad women.   I click their profile to see who they are...and the profile is as empty as one of Obama's foreign policy directives.  I look at their past and I see things like "Manager of Manager" and other equally vapid occupations.....

I told my son whom is on facebook to be very careful who he "friends" on facebook for you let them have access to your life and if they are bad people they can rip your identity or cause you real problems.  I also told him that some people have contest to see how many people they can "friend".  He needs to be very careful.
I have to go camping this weekend, I will be back tomorrow and post one of my pithy rants:)

Star Trek Fan Film "Axanar"

Last year I posted a 21 minute kickstarter video for a Star Trek based fan film.  It is called "Axanar".  It is the back story from the original series (TOS).  There was an episode where Kirk goes to an asylum and he sees Garth of Axanar there, a very famous Star-ship captain whom later went insane.

This character was the inspiration for the fan made movie that followed the original canon, not the reboot  by JJ Adams.  Here is the 21 minute kickstarter video that was used to spark interest.  They Have Richard Hatch(Original Battlestar Galactica Capt Apollo) as the Klingon Warlord Kharn.  Gary Graham who played the Vulcan Ambassador in the Star Trek Enterprise reprises his role, and many others.  The video is worth a look.

I have watched this again and again.....But Apparently Paramount got their feelings hurt and have sued the producers for "ripping off the Klingon Language."  And they are trying to shut down the production.  You can get information from the Official Website.  I have been watching fan made Star Trek on you tube for quite a while.  Star Trek Phase II is pretty good as have many of the others, what they lack in polish, they make up in passion and love of the show.  If you are  Star Trek fan, here is a list of fan made productions...Star Trek Fan Films.

Monday Music "Run to you" by Bryan Adams

I remembered this song coming out while I was in college,  this song along with Boys of Summer with Don Henley and a few others that I can listen to over and over.  the song brings back good memories for me.   I am still healing up and I will be going back to work this evening, so it will be interesting how the night will go.   I also had to go to camp to get more of the Order of the Arrow stuff for my son's ceremony team, they have an event this upcoming weekend, they call it a "powwow".

"Run to You" is a song by Canadian singer and songwriter Bryan Adams. It was released in October 1984 as the lead single from his fourth studio album, Reckless (1984). The track deals with the subject of infidelity, and is sung from the perspective of a man who declares that he will continue to "run to" his seductive mistress over his faithful partner; critic Ira Robbins for CMJ called it a "cheating classic". In the accompanying music video, however, Adams portrays his guitar as the object of desire.
The song topped the Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart and peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has appeared on all of his compilation albums. The single was certified Gold in Canada in 1985.

After a tour in Asia, Adams started the recording for Reckless. The recording for "Run to You" started on March 27, 1984 at Little Mountain Sound, Vancouver, Canada and continued through the summer. It was mixed on September 21 in New York by Jim Vallance. The song, written January 10, 1983, became the last song written for Reckless. Adams and Vallance originally wrote the song for Blue Ă–yster Cult, but the group turned it down.

"Run to You" was released in October 1984 and became one of the most successful songs from Reckless on the American rock charts and arguably one of Bryan Adams's most recognizable and popular songs. "Run to You" was released worldwide on October 18, 1984. It was his first number one on the Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart and reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Run to You" reached the top twenty on the Canadian singles chart and remained there for seven weeks. It held the highest Canadian chart position Adams had attained at the time of release and became his second top twenty single in Canada. "Run to You" was released the following month in Ireland and peaked at #8 and reached #11 on the UK Singles Chart. It was his second single to chart in Europe.
Stewart Mason from Allmusic said "Run to You" was the first of the album's six Top 30 hits, and in retrospect, "one of the weakest of the lot. Although the song has a thundering chorus, the kind that sounds truly excellent blasting through FM speakers, there is quite literally not much else to the song: of the song's nearly four-minute length, over half of the song is devoted to repeats of the chorus and an unimaginative instrumental breakdown that leads into a seemingly endless vamp on the chorus to fade." The long instrumental is indicative of the theme of the music video where the protagonist is serenading his guitar as the object of his affection.

The music video was shot in London, England and later Los Angeles. Directed by Steve Barron, it was nominated for the 1985 MTV Video Music Awards in five different categories: Best Direction, Best Special Effects, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography. While the song didn't win any of the awards, it has received more MTV Video Music Award nominations than any other of Adams's songs. The English actress Lysette Anthony appears in the video.

Happy Easter

This is a quick post to wish all in blogland a Happy Easter,

◄ Matthew 28 ►
New International Version
Jesus Has Risen
1After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

2There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

The Guards’ Report
11While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
The Great Commission

16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Quick Post

Quick Post,    I havn't been posting much..I had my carpel tunnel surgery last Monday, and I was doing good until Friday when I to use an old gamer phrase

"Failed my saving Throw" and somehow manage to fall walking out of the garage.  I remember falling and trying to roll, but apparently I also put my Left hand...you know the left hand..the one that got operated on..hand....Yeah  That one.  Well I braced myself and managed to split the incision open....so off to the Dr office I went.   Dang....so I will be wearing a bandage longer now....will see how this affects me at work on Monday Night....we will see...Perhaps they will let me take some more classes or something....

On a different note we all saw the bombings in Brussels and immediately had the same thought....

The Europeans are inviting their destruction in with unfettered immigration, the people coming over will not assimilate, will not coexist, they view their belief system as superior to the tired multicultural blather of the European continent.  They will accept your tribute but view you with contempt.

Another class and a museum display

I have taken a class for a couple of days so I can save some time while I am healing up.

There are a few differences from this plane and the A319/A320 series.  The motors are the same, we still will be using the CFM 56 series, the same that we use on the Boeing 737 aircraft.  There are software upgrades and a few other things.  I am enjoying the class, although being on dayshift is different, I keep expecting my skin to burst into flames.

There also was a call for veterans at my employer to loan some items from Desert Storm, so I loaned them my uniform, LBE and a few other things for the Museum.
It looked weird seeing my uniform on a mannequin.
Some of my other stuff.   Like I said, it looks strange seeing this stuff under glass.  I have had all this stuff in my bonus room and didn't really think much of it, but other people really think it is neat.
My prayer rug.....I used this next to my cot, there is something about putting your feet on carpet....even in a desert.

Monday Music "Hill Street Blues" by Mike Post

I have this on the scheduler thingie, I will be getting my carpel Tunnel taken care of on my left hand, I may not be able to blog much for a few days....I will see how I handle the pain and hassles.

I was listening to this song on my blue toothie thing ion my radio in my truck and I decided to roll with it for my "Monday Music".  I remember the reaction of "Hill Street Blues" when it hit the airways, it was totally different than any cop show at the time.  It showed the gritty underside of life...or as much as they would show in the early 80's.  I liked the show and the music.   I remembered a comment Mike Post made about that song, he wanted something that sounded serene and peaceful and the show showed everything but..  I also included the theme from "Greatest American Hero."  I also liked the corny series.

Mike Post (born Leland Michael Postil, September 29, 1944 in Berkeley, California) is an American composer, best known for his TV theme songs for such series as Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, The A-Team, NYPD Blue, The Rockford Files, L.A. Law, Quantum Leap, Magnum, P.I., and Hill Street Blues.

Post's first credited work in music was cutting demos using two singing sisters, Terry and Carol Fischer. With Sally Gordon, they went on to become The Murmaids. Their first single, "Popsicles and Icicles" (written by David Gates), was a #3 hit song in January 1964.
Post also provided early guidance for the garage rock band the Outcasts while in basic training in San Antonio, Texas. He was the songwriter and producer for both songs on the band's first single, released in 1965, and also arranged a local concert where they served as the back-up band.
He won his first Grammy at age 23 for Best Instrumental Arrangement on Mason Williams' "Classical Gas", a #2 hit song in 1968. He is also credited as the producer for Williams' LP that included this song, The Mason Williams Phonograph Record.
Billed as the Mike Post Coalition, their track "Afternoon of the Rhino" became a sought-after Northern soul track. The single peaked at #47 in the UK Singles Chart in August 1975.
Post also worked with Kenny Rogers and produced the first three albums he recorded with his country/rock group the First Edition (between 1967 and 1969). Post also produced Dolly Parton's hit album 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs in 1981. Much later, in 1997, he produced Van Halen's Van Halen III album.

One of his first jobs in television started when he was 24, as the musical director on The Andy Williams Show. Another early job was writing the theme music for the short-lived detective series Toma in 1973, but his big breakthrough (together with co-composer Pete Carpenter) came in the following year with his theme song for The Rockford Files, another series by producer Stephen J. Cannell. The theme also got cross-over Top 40 radio airplay and earned a second Grammy for Post.
"The Rockford Files" theme became a Top 10 hit in both the U.S. (#10) and Canada (#8). It ranks as the 85th biggest U.S. hit of 1975, and the 84th biggest Canadian hit of 1975.
Post subsequently won Grammys for Best Instrumental Composition for the themes for the television shows Hill Street Blues in 1981 and L.A. Law in 1988 as well as another Grammy in 1981 for Best Instrumental Performance for the Hill Street Blues theme, which also reached number 10 in the U.S.
Post won an Emmy for his Murder One theme music, and had previously been nominated for NYPD Blue, among others. He has won BMI Awards for the music for L.A. Law, Hunter, and the various Law & Order series. The theme for The Greatest American Hero (co-written with Stephen Geyer) is one of the few television themes to reach as high as #2 as a single record on the Billboard Hot 100.

At the peak of his career, Post was the go-to composer for all of the series created by Donald P. Bellisario, Steven Bochco, Stephen J. Cannell and Dick Wolf. Due to the considerable amount of music to be created, Post operated an office with multiple staff composers, among them Walter Murphy, Velton Ray Bunch, Frank Denson, Jerry Grant and Greg Edmonson, all composing side by side in cubicles. Each would write music cues, to complement specific scenes from each show, in Post's signature style. This practice is not uncommon for top composers in the TV and Film composing worlds.
Other TV music works include The A-Team, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Blossom, CHiPs, The Commish, Doogie Howser, M.D., Greatest American Hero, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hooperman, Hunter, Magnum, P.I., NewsRadio, Profit, Quantum Leap, Renegade, Riptide, Silk Stalkings, Stingray, Tales of the Gold Monkey,Tenspeed and Brown Shoe, The White Shadow, Wiseguy, the BBC series Roughnecks, Law & Order, and Philly.
In 2014, Post composed the score for the fake TV Plot Caged Heat in the Marvel One-Shot All Hail the King for Marvel Studios.

Came back from Camping and other stuff

I have had a very busy few days,   On Thursday night, we attended my sons Band performance, in a rated competition.....They did very well, the only band to get all superior ratings....
Friday I came home from work, slept for a couple of hours, then got up and started working the yard, Used the truck to pull up some bushes, apparently it died...Well I could have dug it up or use my brain and the truck and get it out easier....
Peace of cake.   I then cut the yard, sprayed pesticides all over the place and did a bunch of other stuff, then I washed the protective yellow coatings off the vehicles....I thought both of my cars were "yellow".  I even washed the lawnmower...
That made for a long day.  Saturday morning, I took the crumbsnatcher to another Arrow of Light ceremony, he had to do this one by himself.

He had some technical difficulties...like having all the matches fall out of the box when he was trying to light the candles...but he continued on like a pro.  Despite the various technical problems, I was very proud of him, he handled the hiccups and kept going.
he is making a name for himself doing this stuff for the packs in the district.

Well We got completed with this and off to a campout we went.  Came back this morning and immediately went to church, then off to a Scout fundraiser.....I am tired.
While I was waiting for something I saw where a bunch of protestors blocked the road to a Donald Trump rally, funny how the Brownshirts seem to get off on this stuff.  I made this comment and another person tried to correct me stating that "trump is Hitler."  I chuckled and replied " You don't know your history well, it was Hitler and the Brownshirts that shut down the rally's of his opponents..., Tell me how your cause is more pure to you then their cause was to them?"   I was called an "asshole" and this person stomped off.  Well I am surprised that they didn't invoke "Goodswin Law" on me.

Trump ad on Hillary

I have a few minutes, I have commented quite a bit, the Repubs need to quit attacking each other...They need to focus on Hillary and a lesser extent Sanders.  I remember the 11th commandment from Ronald Reagan, "Don't attack a fellow GOPer".  Remember the mainstream media will shamelessly cover for the democrats.

We are doing ourselves no favors by doing their jobs for them.  As soon as the general elections start, you will see the tone of the Media change to "hostile" in support of "their" candidates.  Remember a vast majority of the mainstream media and their editors vote "Team Donk".

Cardinal of the Kremlin, doctrine of lesser Magistrates and camping

I survived another weekend camping and teaching the rifle merit badge at camp.  I left for camp on Saturday Morning instead of Friday night.  I went for a series of Dr appts, I am getting my carpel tunnel taken care of in my left hand, I have had this for 20 years compliments of Ford Motor Company Atlanta Assembly Plant,  but it has gotten gradually worse with my current job.
So I left very early Saturday morning and in a desolate part of the trip I saw a red blur and heard a *thump* and figured I ran over a possum or something....well I get to camp, drive to the range and I decide to look at the front of the truck and I saw this....

Dang, I actually felt pretty bad, there was no way for me to avoid this.  On a different note, My son continues to work the ceremonies,
The kids also hammed it up before the 2nd ceremony..
Meanwhile We have seen the vaunted tolerance that the left has to people that have different opinions in Chicago,  Those people are PROUD that they shut down an event, the concept of "free Speech and peaceable assemble" is totally alien to them.  They consider free speech if what you talk about is what they like, then it must be protected....but if you believe differently, then you are to be shunned.

I ran across this clip from the movie "Braveheart" and what Mel Gibson's character stated about the nobles and the commons resonated.  The nobles (GOP Establishment, big government liberals) believe that the people exist to serve them and their causes, the truth is the reverse, the nobles exist to serve the people. not their own petty squabbles and self interest.

The Lesser Magistrate Doctrine teaches that when the superior or higher ranking civil authority makes immoral/unjust laws or policies, the lower or lesser ranking civil authority has both a right and duty to refuse obedience to that superior authority. If necessary, the lesser authorities may even actively resist the higher authority.

God has established four realms of government to which He delegates authority. They are: (1) self-government; (2) family government; (3) church government; and (4) civil government. Each has its own role, function, and jurisdiction. The authority an individual possesses in any one of these four realms of government is delegated authority. In other words, they derive their authority from God. Their authority is not autonomous or unconditional. Their authority is God-given, and thus, they have a duty to govern in accordance with His rule. When someone in authority makes laws or decrees contrary to God’s law, they are in rebellion to God’s rule. Those under their authority are NOT to obey them when they do this. They may have to even actively resist them.

Monday Music "Getcha Back" by the Beach Boys

I actually got a posting of "Monday Music" out on Monday.....Yay Go Me!  I went camping with the Boy Scouts this past weekend, I will post on that probably tomorrow.    I was listening to my selection of music on my phone...Bluetooth is a good thing:)   This song came on and I decided to roll with it on Monday Music.  I remembered this album in my Dads music collection

That was one strange looking car, I didn't understand the cultural significance of it back then.  I remembered listening to the music when I was little, I did pick up some of my Dads music taste probably from listening to it all the time when I was little.  I do the same thing to my son, He knows 80's music.   I remember this song hitting in the mid 1985 and I was glad to see the Beach Boys having a hit in the mid 80's especially since they have been around a while.

The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and their friend Al Jardine. They emerged at the vanguard of the "California Sound", performing original surf songs that gained international popularity for their distinct vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a southern California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance. Rooted in jazz-based vocal groups, 1950s rock and roll, and doo-wop, Brian led the band in devising novel approaches to music production, arranging his compositions for studio orchestras, and experimenting with several genres ranging from pop ballads to psychedelic and baroque.

The group began as a garage band managed by the Wilsons' father Murry, with Brian's creative ambitions and sophisticated songwriting abilities dominating the group's musical direction. After 1964, their albums took a different stylistic path that featured more personal lyrics, multi-layered sounds, and recording experiments. In 1966, the Pet Sounds album and "Good Vibrations" single vaunted the group to the top level of rock innovators and established the band as symbols of the nascent counterculture era. Following the dissolution of Smile, Brian gradually ceded control to the rest of the band, reducing his input because of mental health and substance abuse issues. Though the more democratic incarnation of the Beach Boys recorded a string of albums in various music styles that garnered international critical success, the group struggled to reclaim their commercial momentum in America. Since the 1980s, much-publicized legal wrangling over royalties, songwriting credits and use of the band's name transpired.
The Beach Boys is the self-titled 25th studio album by American rock band The Beach Boys, released on June 10, 1985. Produced by Steve Levine, the album is the band's first recording after the drowning death of founding member Dennis Wilson. It was also the first of the band's albums to be recorded digitally and released on CD. It's also the last album released by James William Guercio's Caribou Records.

"Getcha Back" is a song written by Mike Love and Terry Melcher for the American rock band The Beach Boys, on their 1985 album The Beach Boys. It was the band's first release since the tragic drowning death of Dennis Wilson in 1983. The song peaked at number 26 nationally and number two on the Adult Contemporary chart. "Getcha Back" recaptured the sound and feel of the Beach Boys' early hits.
Musically, the backing vocals resemble those from the 1959 hit "Hushabye" by The Mystics, which the Beach Boys had covered in 1964 for their All Summer Long album. Comparisons could also be made to Bruce Springsteen's 1980 hit "Hungry Heart", which Love later recorded a cover of for a tribute album.

The music video directed by Dominic Orlando, was filmed on location in Malibu and Venice, California. It featured a then-unknown Katherine Kelly Lang, who went on to play Brooke Logan on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Although the active members of the Beach Boys appear in the video, they do not play, sing, or lip-sync the song.
