The Stupidity continues....

I have been very busy with real life,
I have been working a lot of overtime, I am banking the money for a couple of trips I am planning.
      I have inquired about getting my press credentials for NRAAM in Dallas.  Travelocity gave me  good price on an airplane/hotel combo so that is in the works.
     I heard on the news that "Dicks sporting good" will not be selling any more "Assault rifles".  Man that was pure virtue signaling.  Dicks hasn't sold "assault rifles" since Sandy Hook.  But Walmart said the same thing and that they will not sell any rifles to anybody under 21.

Palmetto State Armory issued a statement after Dick’s Sporting Goods announced Thursday that it would no longer sell assault rifles or high capacity magazines at its 35 Field and Stream stores.  Dick’s also announced that it would no longer sell firearms or ammunition to anyone under the age of 21.  Walmart made a similar announcement Thursday.
PALMETTO STATE ARMORY STATEMENT BELOW
Palmetto State Armory would like to go on record stating that we support the Second Amendment. While this may seem like an obvious statement, we as a company felt it necessary to make our opinion known to the general public. Palmetto State Armory also strongly supports the First Amendment which enables individuals to voice their opinions, even those in contrast with our own. We believe that a primary purpose of the Second Amendment is actually to protect the First Amendment.
In regards to the actions taken today by the CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods to no longer sell the AR-15 platform, while we do not agree with this decision, we recognize the fact that capitalism gives him the right to make this call. PSA however, does have an issue when misinformation is spread in the very next sentence by referring to the platform as an “assault rifle.” AR stands for Armalite Rifle which pays homage to the company that originally created the platform. To blame the rifle or a high capacity magazine for the actions of an evil man is illogical and is only applied when referring to firearms. Senseless acts of violence are a terrible plague on society that we all recognize we need to try and prevent as a community, but to blame a tool such as a firearm is at very best missing the point of the problem. When a vehicle is used to commit an act of violence we as a society do not blame the car, we do not blame the speed, or the steering wheel, but rather the driver. It is our hopes that we can approach this negativity with humanity and both sides of the argument can come together and have a civil and intellectual conversation that continues to make this amazing county better. We are all in this together, and we all want the same thing. Safety, happiness, and the “American Dream.”

 I have several issues with this.  You can join the Military, get deployed and if necessary die for your country, but you can't own a rifle?   The same .gov that let us down with Cruz, wants to shank everyone because "We have to do something....?"

Talk about poor legislation being crafted, kinda like the rush after 9/11 gave us "The Patriot Act"   I have heard rumblings about all gun transfers being given a background check, this to me is defacto gun registration and I see mega problems down the road with this proposals.
     I also heard some stuff about President Trump agreeing with Feinstein about an assault weapon ban in a school safety bill.  I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because he plays the democrats like a violin like the DACA offer.
     And the Democrats are all in with the gun control issues, they are pushing the kids and every other angle
They have inundated the state and federal offices really pushing the gun control issue.  This is the sole issue they will run on besides the DACA and the ever popular "Hate Trump" for the 2018 election season.  We live in sporting times.

    1. Hey Old NFO;

      I also am tired of "Sporting Times", but I'd rather deal with it now than let my kid deal with it, does that sound bad?
